    In this topic I would say we need to distinguish two things: 1. Be competetive 2. Just have fun To be competetive, you need to have... I don't know how to say it... kind of "driving factor". Be a fan of motorsport, feel it somehow even on daily driving. If you are "sunday driver" probably you will never be competetive, having 4 hours / week. But! Just to have fun, doing 3 races per week - this is available for all the people. Feeling good even being 15th etc. is super as long as you are clean driver. And what is more important for both - never, never ever compare yourself to so called "aliens" - they are driving and practising like 10 hours per day, every day - cause more or less they are paid, sponsored etc. This is the same situation as comparing yourself to e-sport Counter Strike players etc. It's absolutely worthless. Just have fun!

    My SR is almost continuous 9.99. ELO is dramatic...also because I don't play regularly. It is hard, but I try to approach LFM as a platform where I am garanteed to have full grids and races almost around the clock. Ignore ELO...and still I check it after every race and get disappointment. Rock bottom atm.....almost 1000....two lost connections are really ELO killers...

    I have them and I think they are a good buy for the money. But the biggest downside of these pedals is the lack of adjustability. In order to get the face plates straight, you need to tilt your pedal plate a lot. Another issue I found, is that the rubber they give you starts to make a weird noise after some time and I only used them for around a month. For people buying pedals, I think you should save a bit more and get the Simjack UT pedals or save even more and get a good decent set of pedals.

  • @jocry1337

    What settings do you recommend? Especially considering the Software combines the load cell measurement with the Pedal angle sensor. Did you try playing around with the influence of the slider adjusting the ratio between those two? I disconnected the angle sensor on my set to ensure I use ONLY the load cell not the angle sensor. This should help with muscle memory I hope. But i am not one hundred percent certain this is the right way. Would love to hear your opinion on that or even a video on it would be super awesome

    • @SimracingArnout
      @SimracingArnout 8 дней назад

      To be fully honest, I like this particular set cause of all the adjustments you can make, but that also makes it complex of what you can choose for. I dont think there is a perfect way to set it up. I just think what you should focus on: if you feel with your foot that your doing 100% or 20% braking and being confident and sure you applying this imput. The way YOU feel its right and accurate is maybe more important then the perfect loadcell, spring, rubber or software settings you are using to get that result. Maybe not the answer your looking for but thats how i feel about it. Does this answer your question?

    • @jocry1337
      @jocry1337 8 дней назад

      @@SimracingArnout hehe yes and no at the same time :D I think your answer is correct 👍 But still I am always looking for some hard facts. For some way that does not depend on personal preference but instead can be scientifically proven to be good. In example this way is a good way so you are more likely to hit 20% for trail braking easier. I am aware this is probably not possible - but still I would love to find more technological, proven Background because somehow I cant stop believing somethig like this must exist to some extent.

No issues after months of abuse, highly recommended for the price and the loadcell hasn't lost its calibration even once. Improved my laptimes and consistency in ACC dramatically with these. The Thrustmaster pedals I had before doesn't even come close. I feel ELO is not really that meaningful of a metric on LFM, because how much you gain or lose in each race doesn't feel proportional to how well you were expected to do in that race. So let's say you have the 20th highest rating in a field, logically if you finish 20th your ELO should not change much because you performed exactly as expected - but in my experience this isn't quite how it works, the highest rated guy winning can still gain many points while the lowest rated guy finishing last will still lose quite a bit. This means it's very easy to inflate it artificially and the same numbers don't necessarily mean the same skill between different series. I was like 1700 before leaving rookies and got knocked down to the 1400 to 1500 range pretty fast and I'm just starting climb back up, even though I'm now much better than I was then. I mean obviously an alien with 5k ELO has to be fast everywhere to gain that much so it clearly does mean something, but for us mere mortals it's not that clear.

    • @SimracingArnout
      @SimracingArnout 12 дней назад

      Good point!! I totally overlooked this idea

    • @RossoSimRacing
      @RossoSimRacing 11 дней назад

      You having plate 20 and you finishing 20th is not enough to keep the same ELO, because maybe some higher/lower rated drivers with finish higher/lower then expected. Literally everyone would have to finish on the place ELO expects them to finish. And you have a point. All you have to do is going on rainy race, keep off trouble and stay on semi decent pace. You have almost guaranteed top half finish or even top 10, which will give you like 150-200 ELO. Good luck trying that in dry, when everyone has their trained pace :D

    ELO is just a metric for matchmaking. Don't try to "game the system" or have an ego about your ELO rating. What really matters is that you get good races with people who are close to your own pace. People trying to find little tactics to exploit the ELO-calculation is making ELO a less accurate matchmaking metric. Just race and see where it takes you.

  • @RossoSimRacing
    @RossoSimRacing 12 дней назад

    I absolutely disagree. SR rating should be the one you should be focusing on with such passion. High SR will allow you to participate with races with better drivers. Your ELO shouled be just an outcome of everything else you do on race. Last thing you want to do is to find yourself with ELO higher than your actual skill, landing in TOP Splits. I have ELO 2100 now, which makes me be plate 1-3 on Split 2 o place 30-35 on Split 1. Believe me, its a nightmare to "fight like a lion for P28". Work on pace and safety, ELO will come on its own.

      @@SimracingArnout yes, and I’m really puzzled with this video. On one side you say that you should look at ELO every couple of months, and than you say someone should only choose tracks they feel strong at to, in my opinion, artificially boost ELO. I mean, do what you want. It’s your time, your game, your way. If you are getting hard from looking at high ELO number, fine 😁 I just thought that whole point of LFM is the fact that you are forced to race on different track. You spend more time on practice during week and closer to weekend you give your shot on races - but that’s my way. It’s not right, it’s not wrong. It’s just mine 🙂 Idk trying to get more ELO is like trying to look older when you are a kid. Just stop it, focus on what’s important. The rest will happen eventually 👌

      @@SimracingArnout don't know about him but I sure did. to put it in a friendliest possible way, perhaps question hiding in these comments is have you seriosly considered what kind of message this can potentially send to an average superficial viewer or a beginner. you sure gave warning what not to do and thank you for that. having said that, title of the video and most of what you said can potentially send message to many that elo is most important thing. last thing we need is more elo obsessed people on the track with not enough experience/skill. hopefully this video won't undermine in any way all the hard work lfm, pitskill and many others are doing in trying to root out "elo above anything else attitude". sorry for putting things so bluntly.

    Any tips for my case, i've got a league race in silverstone coming up and with 34c track temps i keep torching the left rear, after a few laps it stay above 97 for the entire lap, my laptime on 60l of fuel is around the 2.00.0 but i feel i could go faster. I tried brake ducts and toe, but made almost 0 difference.

    • @SimracingArnout
      @SimracingArnout 16 дней назад

      Toe doesn't help you in this game for the moment. Brake ducts do, like 6. But there is always a compromise to make. Like Zandvoort, the front left will always overheat in hot conditions

      @@HowlerBikeVlogs try to get every tire in the 70-100 window, if 1 peaks around 110, you could increase the brake ducts on that axle, but if that means that a lower temp tire will be -70, then i would rather have a peak tire then 1 tire being to cold, but thats just me

    • @HowlerBikeVlogs
      @HowlerBikeVlogs 16 дней назад

      @@SimracingArnout coldest tire sits around 78-80 so thats fine. Im going to try max ducts tonight but if it doesnt help, im just gonna race with the hot tire. Its a 2hr race with 2 mandatory refueling pitstops, wanna do 60min 55min and then a splash and dash to get to the end.

    So very true! Your "safe" track guide on hungaroring was the best video for me! To me, 1.49 looked very very fast.... but that guidelines gave me the tips to get faster and faster in a safe way, without overdriving. In fact I got my licence with 1.47 or so average :) ;) no w i need a safe guide on imola please

    Never laid a finger on any moza gear so i dont know what its like, same with fanatec, i've got their v3 pedals as an upgrade from thrustmaster t500rs pedals, and thats obv better but no wheel experience. Have you ever tried asetek stuff? I'd be interested to hear your opinion because u usually say and think in a different way than other youtubers. Sometimes i disagree but it does always make me think more about my own opinions. Great video, glad you like the moza.

      Hey man, no, I haven't. hopefully, they contact me at some point. I like the way you comment to me that you don't always agree, and I dig that! I like to approach sim-racing from a different perspective, and sometimes that means that I'm wrong about some things, but I'm not married to my beliefs. I'm always willing to learn things better! Thanx for the comment, il make another video after a few months to review it again
