kinda reminds me of the ABi situation a few months back, when EfT was in hot water. big streamers got paid to play it and say nice things about it. while being in "closed beta" "open beta" gets released and they added the MTX. promises were broken. streamers made excuses to why "its not pay to win", even tho it is. they cried because of a one time fee BSG wanted, yet are fine with RENTING alpha container and keytools, which would cost you way more if you play the game for a whole year or more (like most of us tarky addicts do)... game lost most of its relevancy, while keeping a small fanbase, who still defends the terrible MTX of the game. i dont see a reason to why the game needs NFTs and a crypto coin. everything they wanna do, can be done with a centralized database (like steam and banks). withdrawing massive amount of funds from banks is way harder and much easier to be tracked than crypto. so in case the devs wanna rug pull, with crypto the consumer has less protection. maybe someone who understands crypto, can explain to me, why crypto and NFTs are the better option to the user, than for an example use steam market items. cuz so far, everything was super shady and never made it to a full release. especially games with the "early access" tag are already a risky "investments", cuz devs have way more freedom to change stuff. now put in crypto and NFT and the game seems super shady.
So? 😂
IDK, so? 🤷♂
calling this a crypto game is just shitpost clickbait to be honest, sad that smaller channels have to do shit like this to get views on their channel
Yeah sad that smaller channels have to do this and the biggest channels can get away with whatever they want to.
I don't think gamers care at all about this in all honesty, at least not the average gamer. Sure there might be one or two who don't like the idea. I didn't even know the game had such a thing but I would imagine anyone being pretty exited of the idea that there is a change to "make money". Counter strike skin trading is huge and people actually enjoy to buy and sell different skins and maybe make some money out of it. Of course, cs skins aren't precisely nft's but I would put them in a similar category
Yeah I agree, I think there are certain parts of the internet that really do care, either loving or hating crypto/nfts. I still talk to lot's of people that just don't really have an opinion or know at all about it. Are you playing off the grid now?
This game is awesome I'm hooked I don't even get mad when my team don't win I just hop back in
Nice! What are you liking about the game so far?
@Luke_Jech I like the mechanics, movement can be improved it's clunky at times more weapons can be added and more hexes with unique gear but overall it's fun I never was a pvp player because my skill level was never up there but with this game I get kills.

I didnt even know it was a crypto/nft were even involved with the game
Yeah I don't think most people will, it's all in the background really. Does it change your opinion of the game though now that you do know?
@Luke_Jech 100% it changes especially if you can turn it into real money. That will bring hakers no doubt no matter the anti cheat. Now if it was all in game that emulated real world market, that would be a different thing. Would be more educational with no real incentives to have to cheat although there are rats in every game regardless.
@@Crimsonblod334 yeah money does change the incentives for sure. What do you mean by real world market? What would they have to do to make it one in your opinion?
Can you explain why we're all supposed to be mad about this blockchain tech being used in a game? Are there victims I'm not seeing?
I don't think you have to be mad, there's just a section of gamers, developers, etc. who are mad about it. I'd say the top reasons I see from the side of the argument are... 1. Assets being on blockchain means there is no central authority to help with customer protection. If you get scammed or send your assets to the wrong address, it's just gone forever. Scams are prevalent and I've seen people lose thousands of dollars making one mistake. 2. Lots of these games have just been straight up scams or asset flips so people are scared to trust any game related to this tech now. 3. The messaging around owning your assets can be misleading for NFTs. NFTs are simply a snippet of code with metadata for your asset. The way it's used in a game is still entirely up to the developers and can be changed by them at any time. 4. Some people are just generally against crypto. 5. Some people see earning in a game ruining the fun of the game. Or they see it as manipulating or exploiting people in poverty to try to "play to earn" 6. Blockchain technology doesn't really accomplish anything that a centralized database can and it's less efficient. Those are the top reasons I see from people in the camp that NFTs and crypto should never be in video games.
Dr disrespect had 500k viewers... you gotta be shitting me

@@justinmarshall4803 yeah good clarification. 500K views on a stream for YT is definitely not 500K while live

Doc blowing them all out of the water with his viewer count 😂
Every time. He's a great entertainer.
Yep the best
Was surprised to see that there was such a war between the streamers. People really care that much about it eh?
Why would people be mad? If the game is fun then play. The fact that it utilizes blockchain tech and NFTs is a plus. Now if you want to sell your items and buy something else you can do that. I don't want this attachment... Sure let's sell that and buy a skin! Sounds great to me. There are "bad actors" in all industries and unfortunately NFTs have got a bad name because horrible people sell a picture on a promise it will be worth more in the future. This is not that. This is a free-to-play game... Enjoy it!
@@BonesBNFT people would be mad if they have the perspective that there’s something inherently wrong with using blockchain technology at all. There’s plenty of those people out there. I think their argument would be up could do all of that selling and such on a centralized database and that blockchain isn’t a good solution. That’s why I think this will be interesting to watch. If this game gains more and more traction, how much of this will be a controversy or will it just be a non factor for the majority of people.

@@Striker_VII I think there’s a world where they can live in harmony, others definitely don’t tho lol. Although I don’t believe in the narrative either that gaming will bring everyone into using crypto / nfts
As with most things the answers is some where in the middle
@@Striker_VII agreed. The extremes of either side is usually very skewed. Anyways, good to see you around as always Striker! How are things going for you?
I think part of why the majority doesnt know/care, is because these creators (from what I have watched) dont talk about the crypto side of it. They just go "BEST NEW BR OF 2024?!?!?!" and keep it moving. I think one of those comments made a good point, which is also a point I have made to others. We have yet to see a crypto game make it to a post launch state. To be fair to the Off The Grid devs, this is the first crypto game to gain THIS much traction. But that doesnt mean anything if they cant follow through. Theres just so much to be on the fence about, currently. From hacking to take advantage of the market, to potential breaches, or the company shutting down, making players lose all of their earnings.
@@Milty_The_Great good take! Similar to my thoughts. It’s an interesting attempt to make a crypto game go mainstream, but it still has much left to prove, both to see if the game is successful or the web3 side of it. Have you been watching their streams or trying the game?
@@Luke_Jech yeah I've put a few hours in. I don't like making assumptions or anything simply from watching a game. A hands on experience is always best when forming an opinion. Game still needs a lot of love, but it does have good bones. So hopefully they can meet the potential they've shown.
@@Milty_The_Great nice. What would you say needs to be improved the most?
The thing about web3, is the tech is cool, but it comes with a bunch of anti-social, awkward, and toxic dorks that immediately alienate normal people from wanting to participate. It's already happening in the OTG Discord, seeing a bunch of idiots joining going "Wen airdrop" "How much is the token?" "Hi FREN" "GM GM WAGMI" all that stupid horseshit.
Yeah that doesn’t surprise me. I’ve always said that crypto culture is a big turn off to most gamers. Curious how many players will be turned off by that or just confused by it in general.

Haven’t heard about cats so I’m not sure. There’s not really a way to know what an airdrop will be. The best guess you can make is based on how many tokens are released and divide a potential market cap by that 🤷♂️
@@Luke_Jech it listed yesterday on bybit, bitget and kucoin. I’m so leaving the telegram airdrop thing for now. The highest it got to was a 0.0001. all crypto gaming companies are prepping for the altseason .. marketing campains etc.. SAND might pump too , so i guess the land sale is just one more avenue to make money for them
Yeah it's such a small amount though compared to what they've already raised in the past. The only thing I can think of is trying to pump their coin. Sorry to hear that!
Hamster combat lied for months for their users. They never ever had 300 milion users. Big big lie, if you were going through the game you will noticed many things were hyped up, through hamster lies, like the different ceo levels. Example: if you looked at the one level where your needed 1million coins to get there, but the top achiever for that level pph were more than 2million. Two million was the the next level. And so I can go on, but this is sure alot of bullshit. No two ways about it.
I didn't play the game myself but good to know that there were lies in the game itself as well 😢
I worked hard for almost 3 months only to get $8
How can you feel empathy for everyone when you yourself haven't played it? And how is it a scam when there was no money invested in it? And don't tell me "what about our time and efforts?". Yes, there's that but HK always reminded people to not give everything into the game, specifically those keys. I know HK did screwed up on some things and I'm not on their side or anything, but it was the people's choice to play it like there's no tomorrow. And influencers and content creators have taken all the luxury to take advantage and make videos about it for VIEWS and REFERRALS. And have you all not read the road map on HK? I'm not saying that it will happen, but when it does, would you think that maybe HK is building something for the future instead of a lousy airdrop that people are crying about? So many people saying mass report HK, but look at their soc meds. They still have that many followers and actually expanding. In the crypto world, not every airdrop is good news and if you're only after the money in these airdrops then you better go find a job instead.
It depends on how you define a scam. As I stated, if you define scam as only a money exchange then it's not really a scam but an exploit. But they are using people's time and attention to make millions and millions of dollars. So not a direct scam of players money but they are cashing in on their time and attention. Scam or not, it's gross what they're doing. I'm not interested in teams that are anonymous either so to me it doesn't matter what they have on their roadmap, there's no accountability.
