Dookey Dash: Crypto Game Launches With A Massive $1M Prize Pool

That's right, Dookey Dash from Yuga Labs, the creators of Bored Apes NFTs, is launching again and this time with a Million dollar prize pool. For those who don't remember, Yuga Labs raised almost half a billion dollars back in 2022, to build out their metaverse of games. They then launched Dookie Dash, a runner style mobile game comparable to subway surver, Super Mario Run and others. However back then you had to have an NFT to play Dookey Dash. Now they are making it a free to play mobile game, having a 90 day season where you can qualify for a final tournament. This Dookey Dash tournament has a million dollar prize pool but no information yet on how these prizes will be distributed.

It hit #4 in free games on App Store, then fell after that.
I’ve been enjoying it a lot. IMO saying it’s like other runners is not really fair (if you know others like this, let me know, I’d like to play them). For me this game has a lot more depth. I’m on the leaderboard, don’t know if I’ll stay there, but I’d be playing either way, it’s one of my favorite games. Not on mobile though, on PC. Mouse makes this an entirely different game with a very deep amount of potential skill progression. That’s my main criticism of it currently - mobile won’t compete, so I’m not sure if it will keep mobile players engaged.
Rewards for the tournament aren’t entirely clear but there’s more detail. Top 250 on leaderboard get golden plunger, which is an nft that is an entry to tournament. Golden plungers also won through spins (which you can get by grinding). Everyone in tournament gets at least one spin at a prize, minimum prize is $1k in apecoin. If you rank higher in tournament you get more spins. No details yet on how that breaks down. Total supply of golden plungers something like 500 I think (not totally clear on that)
