As a professional tuner… you’re insane. I’ve spent years modifying cars for people and calling superchargers just bad is insanity. The reason manufacturers aren’t using them is not efficiency it’s PRICE and accessibility. Superchargers will always have a place and imo turbos are overused. Supercharged cars are much more fun to drive downshift and play with the throttle on both and you will know why instantly.

I used a lock like the first one you tested. The gear knob on my car did not unscrew but it was still stolen. The loop that fits around the gear lever was cut through, presumably by a battery powered angle grinder, while it was in the station car park.

The CVT concept is wrong, so impossible to make it work well, like the rotary engine. On a perfect gearset you only have rolling resistance, so by concept the lowest mechanical loss.

turbo is parasitic loss on the engine bro has never heard of exhaust backpressure but yes generally less than a supercharger however the type of turbine used in turbocharger typically uses the pressure differential more than it utilizes exhaust gas velocity. therefore power the car would have if it didn't have the restriction of the turbine.

I dont think anyone buys rotary, because they want reliability or fuel efficiency. If you want that just by a corolla. I've had a rx8 for 6 years and to this day i havent felt more happy about me driving a car. Every day comiting to work was pure delight, and if you are fan of rotaries, fuel efficiency is a small price to pay for those engines. Smiles per galon guys.. I have 0 regrets waiting every morning for 10 15 minutes to warm up so i can rip it on the way to my work. I now have 2016 m3, thats newer, faster, more reliable and more comfortable, but i still find myself thinking about my rx8.

It seems impossible to make a safe car. Making it heavier will make it safer in most collisions, but it will make it more dangerous in rollovers. Making it taller will make it more safe in collisions but more prone to roll over. Making it wider and longer, is probably always good, though. And having a low center of gravity. I guess an EV suv with strong pillars is going to be the safest bet.
