Hummer H2 2005 - Drivers Door Lock Not Working
Просмотров 3,6 тыс.2 года назад
This video investigates repairing a faulty Drivers Door Power Window Switch (DDM Drivers Door Module) where the door actuator (lock) fails to operate. An oscilloscope reveals the voltages across the actuator are complex waveforms. The DDM pulses the Lock C2-Pin 21 constantly, however the UnLock (Pin 20) shows a fairly clean 400ms wide 12V pulse with respect to ground. Also it's not possible to ...

Hummer H2 2005 - Transmission Fluid and Filter Change
Hey, mate.I appreciate your diagram but if I wanted a engineering perspective I would have went to school. How about a simplistic way of fixing and adjusting the locks?Thank you mate.😊
Thank you for your suggestion. The simplest solution is to replace the module, these modules are complex electronically, what you seek may be impossible to describe, at least for me
So these sensors are no longer available. Do you know anyone way to use a resistor to make ot think the sensor is working?
Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately the sensors are highly sophisticated, well beyond the use of a simple resistor or any other component to effectively bridge-out the system. Any solutions found will be posted in the description, at the moment perhaps the only source would be salvage parts or eBay😌 Try googling the part numbers listed in this video for your model year🤞
Hi there, I’m gunna attempt this also however I’m going to change all solenoids whilst there… can I ask the reason for using Dex6 ? Also when removing the exhaust do you recommend a new exhaust gasket ?
Thank you for the comments. The choice of Dex6 was made after researching, however you may wish to follow the GM manual if you're unsure. Changing the solenoids is perhaps a step I would not undertake without a specific reason for doing so. Re the exhaust gasket, yes I would and did replace at the time. Hope all goes well 🤞
@ no specific reason other than I have them all. (Don’t ask) but also just watched your fuel pump video, which I will have playing when I’m doing that same job. Very informative.. I do love this car !!!!
@@jamesallen5627Hope you video the solenoid change, be good to watch. Just to add, I had a request to do the same job, glad I didn't as it turned out to be a PCM issue.
@ will do my best to film …
Leave the seal in! Too risky. Otherwise you can use slide hammer from harbor freight.
How did you pop it out
@@youngak47man1 Thank you for your question. The module can be erased using plastic panel trim tools, they cost a few dollars on Amazon 👍
Worked perfect. Passenger mirror was not functioning properly. Took the controller apart and cleaned the board as stated and mirror is functioning properly again. Great Video and very helpful thanks.
Thank you for your valued comments, glad you had some success👍
Thanks for the advice! It gets pretty cold here in Colorado USA. I am so glad that I stumbled across this channel.
Thank you again for your comments👍
Wow! This is like Disneyland for a Hummer Fan. Ive never seen such care and detail put i to a video about anything! You’re incredible. I have such a better understanding of my precious vehicle after this gory dissection of its anatomy. I don’t know if I will ever attempt dropping the tank and replacing the components because it’s my daily driver, but I sure do appreciate what you have done here young man. Many thanks for this herculean effort and outstanding production.
Thanks you so much for your very kind comments. You are right about the effort, it did take quite some time and with YT there's no going back, apart from updating the comments. Again you're words are very much appreciated 🙏
Wow, no jack stands for safety! Good by hands when installing shock and lower bolt assembly!!!
Thanks for the observation. The shocks are dampers rather than load bearing plus the road wheel was still in place. The jack was only used to lift up/ down should a bolt need a little movement to free it, which it didn't.
Can i have your contact sir i want to ask about my h2 issues
@@vvampire6099 Email is yt.h2@protonmail.com
Ok thank you . Great video❤
Hi , please could you advise me of what colour EL panel you used. I have found a 100mm x 100mm and think it would be ice blue ? Thank you
Thank you for your question. The order details were "Electroluminescent (EL) Panel - 10cm x 10cm Aqua" and it came from "The Pi Hut" however ice blue looks to be a pretty good match👍
Man I've gotta take my ebcm module off tomorrow to repair the board. Im hoping it comes off without taking the pump down or im in the same boat :/ . Great video !
Thank you for the mention, hope all goes well🤞
Great Job Sir. Thank you for sharing this!
@@alvinbarrera Thank you for your comments, hopefully this video was of value 🤞
Thank you so much for sharing this! My 2005 H2's driver side controls were intermittently working, stopping halfway, etc... I followed your procedures here and sure enough, the gold contacts were dirty. I wiped them down with some DeOxit and now they are working 100% perfectly!
@@travr1131 Thank you so much for kind comments, glad you've had success 👍
The part is discontinued from RS components. Ideas?
Thank you for the update. If you google "IRFBA1405P Buy" you will most likely find some on eBay, for example:- www.ebay.com/itm/144883965065 Hope you find some 🤞
Your my hero
This kit is an example - more research advised. www.amazon.com/Dorman-800-300-Nylon-Repair-Piece/dp/B000XQ5IO4/ref=asc_df_B000XQ5IO4/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312064685033&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13236071159180526761&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004167&hvtargid=pla-434053530147&psc=1
That's probably the best option, if I find something I'll post a link here👍
It may need a little research but I recall someone else finding a fuel line quick release connector kit containing a compatible piece, the kit also had the tool needed.
I had the EXACT same problem!!! Just replaced the pump and the connection broke off in the connector for the purge but mine will not come out. Ive been at it for a week and have been looking online and cant find the exact part to order to replace that connector (or the hose and connector if need be) do you by chance know where to find it?
all plastics of this instrument go craking everywhere witch lead to abandon any repairs
Another thank you here for this video, just picked a H2 up and about to start on all the little bits I can do myself. Your channel seems a great place to start.
Thank you for your very kind comments, much appreciated 🙏
Many thanks for this helpful video
Thank you for your comment 👍
I have a 2005 H2. I replaced the drivers side sensor a few years ago now the passengers side just failed. It looks like the corrosion caused the failure as you pointed out. It looks like the sensors are now discontinued. Even the Dorman sensors are hard to find. I’m going to fill the cavity with silicon sealant on mine to see if that will prevent future failures.
It worked! Thx
Thank you so much for your feedback 👍
Is there any way to fix an old sensor? I think that it will work again if I remove all this corrosion. Correct me if I am wrong.
Thank you for your comment. The aluminum mounting-tube corrodes causes the plastic to swell, crack and leak water into the electronics. If the corrosion was removed, the internal electronics dried-out by some method and the unit re-sealed it might be resurrected. I tried doing the same thing, but had no video to guide me, perhaps the information here may put the odds in your favor, you have nothing to loose by trying I guess 🤞
You are so wrong
Thank you for your comment. Please can you elaborate or be more specific🙏
Thank you so much for your comment, hope this video helped 👍
Hi , i replaced backlight panel working great. Can you confirm how you adjusted lcd top screws / cams. I adusted i screw from top and fell out so now know you adjust them from under pcb. Did you find to remove any of the lcd clips when adjusting the screws as wonder if you need to remove the lcd pressure while adjusting screws ? Thank you
@@540satnav Thank you for you question. From memory I seem to recall removing the clips, aligning the display against pictures/videos taken beforehand, a good starting point would be to align it centrally then work from there. Think I was lucky in that the 50/50 start point worked 1st time, but it could take a little trial and error. Hope you manage to align it 🫰
Hi, thank you for this video. I have several of these scopes, and all have quite poor backlights. You must have the patience of a saint to work on that re alignment several times. Seeing your first attempt may have put me off attempting a fix. But you seem to have a solution even if it's a nightmare one. Well done. P.s. What sort of voltage should be used on the backlight for test purposes? You mentioned 100v, AC DC ?? Ive never attempted replacement of those backlights. I guess I could measure the connection points. But you seem far more familiar with them than I. Thanks again.
A million thanks you made my day with this ! Couldn’t figure it out
Thank you for your comment, glad this video helped 👍
All this work being done on the components and a new fan and resister costs about 40 bucks....smh....
Thank for your comment. If you could please post some links, they may help others having issues, thank you👍
Are these supposed to jiggle or have some up and down play in them? I took mine off and put them back on and noticed the screw never tightened fully on either side and there is a little up and down play on them.
Thank you for your question. The sensor's mounting hole is only partially-threaded hole and also has a chassis locating peg. The sensor's special screw has an unthreaded portion which can pass through the sensor's threaded section. The sensor's locating peg pushes into the framework leaving it's threaded section outermost. The special screw winds through the sensor hole and into the chassis, it's unthreaded section means the sensor is fully clamped against the chassis. Perhaps the screw has been replaced with a standard screw, or the sensor has been mounted upside down? If don't have the original screw you could modify a standard screw by removing enough thread for it to almost pass through the sensor. Hope this description helps 👍
Actually to answer your question, the sensors should be fixed with no play, if you can please keep us posted on anything you find🤞🏼
I would like to thank you for this video. I have an 05 H2 and just fixed mine thanks to this video.
I had some pretty bad markings on the gold parts and gently used a pencil eraser to clean them, then wiped again with the alcohol.
Thank you so much for your comment, hopefully it will continue to work for many more years to come👍
👍👍✌️🙏🏿
My Tranny died on my H2 :( Im rebuilding it
next time DONT change that O ring that comes with the filter... just change the filter only.. the O ring doesnt go bad just leave it in there and re use it... and why did you disconnect the battery?? you dont have to do that!!!
Thank you for your comment, appreciated. Good points, the O-ring did appear OK, and certainly next time won't be changed. However for my 1st time, given the vehicle's age, mileage, sevice history, oil cost, time and effort required, to be 100% certain the O-Ring is OK and not degraded or damaged seemed worth it. Regarding battery disconnection, this step could be omitted, however it's all about safety, reducing risk from accidental shorts or running the battery low etc and it only takes a minute to do, so again seemed worth it. All viewpoints are important so people can decide how to do a job and do it safely.
Is it the same process for h3
Thank you for your comments. Apologies, no direct experience with H3, the motor itself looks to be a different animal, one imagines the work would be similar.

Спасибо большое. Все сделал по Вашему видео на H2 2007 года. Все заработало. Мастера пытались развести на замену подрулевого шлейфа
Would u think it would make the job way easier if you had a Lift to take the body off the frame? Asking cause that’s what I am considering
I was getting a H2 sorted and fixing odds n ends. I was just ready to go on a test drive and a break line blew! And the E-Brake line not hooked up, so it could have been bad!
Beautiful demo vid. Thanks for taking the effort and uploading this to help us all out. Subscribed and in your debt :) free beer if you ever come my way!
Thank you very kindly for your comments and for subscribing, a beer sounds great!
Why is the oil pan replaced? Is that a nice to have or mandatory during the ATF oil/filter change? Great video!
Thank you for your comment. The choice to change the oil pan depends if you want to add a drain plug. To perform the progressive series of fluid changes it would ease the workload considerably. Sadly it's not possible to drain all the fluid in one visit without special equipment, or should I say it's not easy.
Good job. Thanks 🙏🏼
I have the same problem. Its just a bowden problem or what? Can I just order the bowden?
