Excellent video hopefully I can get the same results you did. The attention to details you covered is top notch information and is very much appreciated. Thank you for this video.👍😁😎👌
I took off my passenger side rock bar and steps. It makes it so much easier to get under the truck. I use a mechanics roller too. Really don’t notice its off. I haven’t put back on the transmission protector either.
Hi there, I’m gunna attempt this also however I’m going to change all solenoids whilst there… can I ask the reason for using Dex6 ? Also when removing the exhaust do you recommend a new exhaust gasket ?
Thank you for the comments. The choice of Dex6 was made after researching, however you may wish to follow the GM manual if you're unsure. Changing the solenoids is perhaps a step I would not undertake without a specific reason for doing so. Re the exhaust gasket, yes I would and did replace at the time. Hope all goes well 🤞
@ no specific reason other than I have them all. (Don’t ask) but also just watched your fuel pump video, which I will have playing when I’m doing that same job. Very informative.. I do love this car !!!!
@@jamesallen5627Hope you video the solenoid change, be good to watch. Just to add, I had a request to do the same job, glad I didn't as it turned out to be a PCM issue.
Thank you for your comment. The choice to change the oil pan depends if you want to add a drain plug. To perform the progressive series of fluid changes it would ease the workload considerably. Sadly it's not possible to drain all the fluid in one visit without special equipment, or should I say it's not easy.
Another detailed and extremely helpful video. Very much appreciated. Regarding the seal removal, I used a quick and easy homemade tool of a 12"X1/2" threaded male pipe (to screw into the seal), attached to a 1/2" female t-section, with a 4"X1/2" male nipple also on the t-section for tapping down. next time DONT change that O ring that comes with the filter... just change the filter only.. the O ring doesnt go bad just leave it in there and re use it... and why did you disconnect the battery?? you dont have to do that!!!
Thank you for your comment, appreciated. Good points, the O-ring did appear OK, and certainly next time won't be changed. However for my 1st time, given the vehicle's age, mileage, sevice history, oil cost, time and effort required, to be 100% certain the O-Ring is OK and not degraded or damaged seemed worth it. Regarding battery disconnection, this step could be omitted, however it's all about safety, reducing risk from accidental shorts or running the battery low etc and it only takes a minute to do, so again seemed worth it. All viewpoints are important so people can decide how to do a job and do it safely.
The pump came in. This thing is massive!!!! JohnDow fluid extractor. Holds 1.7 Gallons or 6.5 liters. Will work on it tonight.

Bro thanks so much 🙏 for these videos, keep bringing them, we don't have lots of videos out there showing up how certain things get repaired. Thanks
Thank you for your comment, I'll try to keep them coming 👍

Got the new pan on, I used a transmission jack to lower the pan. 4 quarts total came out. Have put in amsoil and could feel an immediate difference.
Just ordered the pan, a gm oem massive magnet, will be starting on this process in a few weeks.
You may find you don't need the magnet your current pan should have one, the one I bought is stuck to my office desk at the moment.

👍
On 8 new gallons of Amsoil and wow shifting is incredible. Will do two more and it will be complete .
Again and again. Excellent video

@ will do my best to film …
Why is the oil pan replaced? Is that a nice to have or mandatory during the ATF oil/filter change? Great video!

I put amsoil in the transfer case, great result
Your my hero
How bad were those specs of metal?
Nothing excessive, similar YT videos showed similar results, normal for the mileage probably.
My gasket that came with the filter leaked I had to reinstall with felpro fingers crossed no issues
Whats the seal do?
Thanks so much man u hocked me up 🙏🏽🙏🏽

The new GM magnet is much beefier and stronger than old magnetic. Will say made in china, but its the right one.
👍👍👍👍🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴

Leave the seal in! Too risky. Otherwise you can use slide hammer from harbor freight.
You are so wrong
Thank you for your comment.
Please can you elaborate or be more specific🙏
