16 years with the beast and I never really used the mirror power fold. I should have and will start. Thanks for the refresher. I would love to see a video on the front end noises from from the stone shield, muffler and cage under the stone shield.

Thanks for you comments. Noises can be tough to trace, a common issue is corroded exhaust heat-shields, these can rattle quite badly, usually when the engine is idling and cold and often get mistaken for bad CATs. There's one either side and quite often discarded rather than replaced as the bolts a hard to access. Other issues are, loose skip plate bolts (remove to prove) exhaust clamps, serpentine belt tensioners and lost tools rattling about.
Let me know when you find it, may be then we can make a video👍

@@hummerfixes Thanks for the input. I have had it to two shops and the can’t find the thumping noise. Even hooked up microphones to try and pin point it. I am going to start taking things off as I think it is a combination of the skid plate and the cage under it. I’ll let you know.

@@tdematteo01 That's an interesting problem, yes removing the skid plate etc. is relatively quick and easy, an impact driver will help, it's a 15mm socket as I recall.
There's are many possibilities, stabilizer links, front engine mounts, diff bolts etc, however better than microphones, is to mount/fix a GoPro (or similar) focused over the area of concern, such as suspension, diff etc. then drive and record. This links audio with the visual e.g. the part you never normally get to see. In this H3 example, the guy tried a couple of areas first then got to this, you can see the culprit bushing with excessive movement - amazing!

@@hummerfixes great idea with the go pro. It was the shop who hooked up the mic. If I can’t fix it I will pas it on to the shop. I am pretty sure I have it narrowed down. On the hummer forum there is a post that has been saved for all to read. They mentioned the noise. I will just start taking things off and test driving. I do have a go pro and will give that a try along with my testing. I will let you know. Thanks for the help and great videos

Did you ever remove the front grill ? ( the chrome grill that houses the headlight etc..) as ive been having a thud kinda noise from the front end and could never locate where exactly it coming from, even removed the front skid plate ( which btw makes lots of funny noises if not installed correctly. Anyways the sound in my h2 was coming right from the grill itself. You see the grill mounts to the front end by 2 middle upper clips, 2 middle lower clips and 2 screws on each side (next to amber parking light).
In my case, the 2 middle upper clips were broken and 1 upper side screw was missing which made the grill flap around couple inches back n forth.

Love your channel mate keep up the awesome work, already subd.
Could please explain what your doing in this vid ? My driver side stopped ( although it seems that it tries to as it moves about an inch before stopin )
The issue started after the house gardener unfolded it countless times over the years to wash the car.
It seems like the mirror forgot its home position ? Although when it moves abit and stops, makes me think it just needs a good cleaning and lube it from inside.

If the little mirror-glass motors cannot centralize the mirrors, the electronics will not fold the power arm IN, however fold OUT will always work, the video points out this relationship. This is not the your case, it's more likely to be the classic internal rust problem. My very 1st video showed the repair of the right arm, I added the left (of course) later. 1st -> ruclips.net/video/GrEAtJYVf-o/видео.html 2nd -> ruclips.net/video/iJq14X3q1D8/видео.html
