Thanks for this video. The latch works as it should when I engage the latch manually as you did in this video. It seems like no matter how hard I slam the hood it won't catch and lock. It almost seems like I need to sit on it in order for it to lock in 😆
I have the problem that the mechanism works, but there is not enough force upon release to lift the hood up out of the latch. Basically the hood does not pop up like it used to. Is there a spring to replace or is it a hood alignment issue. Lucky for me, I have long monkey arms; I can pull the release with on hand while at the same time lift the hood just enough with the other hand - it's a stretch! Any suggestions!
Thank you very much for the comment. Suggest checking the latch operates manually as in the video, as you can see and hear the spring is quite powerful. If not it may be seized so perhaps a little lubrication is needed. If it does it is most probably an alignment issue, with either the locking loop and/or mechanism. As its hard to see what is happening, perhaps a phone on record and a flash light would help show where the problem lies. Please let me know if you get it fixed 👍

My 03 H2 does the very same thing ?
@@randyfleming3004 I hosed it down with WD-40 while manually working the latch. Now it locks as it should 👍
