    Oh, I got PTSD when I saw the sleeves and aaid noooo out loud. But was so relieved when you grabbed them ol double bubble bags. Sleeves are so trash! I had them on my car, granted it was a daily driver for over 5 years. But those sleeves scrunch up when Deflated. Don't always roll into them selves as designed. Which means these creases become cracks that split and next thing you know, your fender drops down onto your rim stopping your car dead. I like this set up. Would love to replace my air shocks with that for more adjustment. Great video and car!

    • @DadModsMedia
      @DadModsMedia 14 дней назад

      Paul, it's a great thought. I debated it myself simply for alignment purposes. The trouble is, having a cross bar/s would possibly foul exhaust components or crossmembers if it attached to the portion of the Quickjack that lifts. If there was a way to attach to the lower portion, then really the only downside is that using a creeper underneath would be very challenging.

    • @DadModsMedia
      @DadModsMedia 14 дней назад

      On a shoebox, I think with the right combination of drop blocks and a few pulled leaves I bet you could get the axle to the frame, which is low but definitely not laying frame. But then you are really compromising pinion angle and risk axle wrap under hard acceleration. If you want to fully dump one of these things I'd suggest the Shoebox Central 2 link kit. It's a bit of fab work but that kit gets the frame on the ground.

    That's awesome, I can't wait to install mine. Had them sitting around for about a year now just haven't got the time, also been building up to a full suspension sitting around here n there. I started to get worried about the Vikings in comparison to what's said about the QA1s, I hope they're real stiff for lower cars. Another one of my cars is pretty low and I guess my coilovers aren't enough to keep it from bottoming out once in a while. Thanks for creating this video

    • @DadModsMedia

      Viking will build you 100% custom valved coilovers exactly like you want in varying lengths, spring rates and attachment points. You made the right choice with Viking. I'll put it this way; there's a reason why all the fast guys around here run Viking. So get her done, get those coilovers on and if you need a stiffer spring because you're so low they can hook that up too. These guys are the real deal!

    What about replacing the leafs with drop leafs? Are they designed to take care of this issue?

    • @DadModsMedia
      @DadModsMedia 2 месяца назад

      Drop Leaf springs instead of drop blocks and leaf removal from original packs? I think it all depends on your goals, if you want to get the car slammed for parking you're going to need a lot of travel in the suspension (soft suspension). A full leaf pack will have resistance in both vertical directions, whether it's a drop pack or not. Especially downward. When you remove a few leafs from the original pack you get a softer pack that allows the car to drop lower, you then use the air bag to inflate the car up to an appropriate height for driving. If you used a drop leaf pack (w/o removing any leafs) it wouldn't allow you to go any lower than the 3 inch drop but you would be able to use an air bag to raise it a little before getting too much resistance from the leaf pack. If you started with a drop leaf pack then removed leafs until you get your desired static drop, then used the air bag to raise it.... I suppose that may be another option. I hope this makes sense.

    • @DadModsMedia
      @DadModsMedia 2 месяца назад

      My understanding is the front ends on those cars are usually stubbed by using a more modern clip. I've seen Gbody and Mustang II clips working well. I don't know enough about a leaf spring front axle to make any recommendations outside of doing a clip. Jiminez Brothers do make a clip for that car, I'd suggest giving them a call and asking what they recommend based on your budget. Maybe they know a way to safely run air without a full clip. They are gurus

    So, that bracket and hardware will hold the weight of the car? The bracket looks a little flimsy

      The bracket is a 1/4 plate and I haven't noticed any changes on my vehicle which included towing a camper behind it.

    Love the setup. Literally just ordered the same setup (different wheels) for my 98 SS. I apologize if I missed it, but are you lowered as well?

      Hi Shea, yeah at the time of filming this video the Camaro was lowered on Eibach springs and blown shocks. Lol The car now sits on Viking coilovers and is lower than the height of the springs.

    I bought the QJ-7000TLX based on your video. Setup and bleeding when smoothly and it functions as advertised. But there is a warning on page 36 of the operation manual. It states "You must always use axillary safety stands under the vehicle while elevated on both Quickjack frames". I know safety is everything but is the locking mechanism suspect for QJ to include this warning? Defeats the whole QJ selling point. To me it's saying QJ is safe but it's not safe, use jack stands too. I still haven't got a clear answer from them when I called.

      @rjhick1 Месяц назад

      Its a legal lability which is why the have the warning label. If someone messes up the installation and the locking mechanism fails and the person dies then they will get sued, by them saying you need auxiliary jack stands its their way of covering themselves.

    Hi, I am planning on doing this build with 4 Dewalt 20V batteries (because I have dewalt tools). 20vx4 is 80V and this motor is 72V. Do you think this is a problem? I noticed you said 80V maxed in your description.

    • @DadModsMedia
      @DadModsMedia 3 месяца назад

      Hey David, so yeah these Makita batteries at full charge are basically 20v. So when everything is fresh this motor is tolerating 80v for a little while. My understanding is motors will tolerate a little bit of overclocking but it does reduce the life of the motor some. And these are cheap Chinese motors so who knows but so far mine has held up fine to all the screwing around we've done.

    that is a nice looking unit. the only concern i would have, a this is because i have had a quick jack for about 3 years, is that the 2 lifts start acting differently and don't go down at the same rate. they seem to move up at the same rate, but not down. now that is when they are 4-5 feet apart under vehicles, so maybe together they are fine. still a nice looking unit

    • @DadModsMedia
      @DadModsMedia 3 месяца назад

      Do your quickjacks have the air canisters on them? Mine do and that's meant to hold between 40-50psi. These air cylinders held push the quickjacks back down. If one cylinder has bled off air pressure they will go down at different rates.

    • @BT-ih6kr
      @BT-ih6kr 3 месяца назад

      @@DadModsMedia yes, unless you check them all the time, you only know they don't work when they don't work. also, even when they are full, it is not an exact match. now the lift is getting about 5 years old and used fairly often so it may just be an age thing

    • @DadModsMedia
      @DadModsMedia 3 месяца назад

      Well that's a shame@@BT-ih6kr . It may be worth calling Quickjacks and asking if there's anything to check over, like are the pins getting corroded, bolts need to be retorqued...etc. Mine are around 5 years old, and if you follow the channel you'll see how often they are lifting my stupid toys, yours shouldn't be having those issues.
