Yes! Please please please, follow up videos on the recommended regular maintenance for EVs, that information needs to start getting out! Would love it on all EVs eventually, maybe not step by step on each EV but just what's recommended. The manufacturers love to claim nothing is needed but then when a part fails they just want you to replace it.

The storm drain is a cool mod, but how about the drain tube feeding into a container that has a sensor in it to alert the owner that it is leaking. It could go unnoticed for a long time in the winter for example.

Thanks for the post, but don't understand why the more complex and costly, QC Charge red Performance Coolant Delete manifold was utilized instead of the simpler more cost effective blue Lite version? Since the only advantage (as far as I know?) of the red Performance version is the ability to, include an oil cooling rotor modification, which wasn't utilized.

How did they not replace it with a "U" model LDU? Known issue and I thought Tesla was replacing the units with deleted U variants.

It's cool that you were able to do this, but in practical terms, one can do a 3800SC conversion for <$4000 and get a 0-60 in 3.4 sec vs $90K for your EV estimate of 5.0 sec. And it handles MUCH MUCH better than your EV (800 pounds less (estimate) without all that top heavy high mounted battery weight.) Don't think this is going to be a big hit with customers. How many customers have paid for Fiero EV conversions?

Great video. We had a similar AC charging issue with our '17 MX75D. I just drove 4+hr last week to get our onboard charger replaced by a 3rd party shop in Dayton, OH (Great Lakes EV). As much as I like doing things DIY on our Tesla, I didn't feel comfortable with some of steps (playing around with HV etc) as I couldnt find any videos of it being done on a Model X. Your video and step by step would have given me confidence to do this on my own.

Do the LDUs also go in the Model X?

No warranty on Tesla’s remanufactured drive unit? Why is this not a recall on all vehicles with LDU? I hear the rotor whine on old Model S cars all the time.

It was its light weight that made the VX a good car.

You call them cv axles they do not have cv joints but a triangular centrepiece with 3 ball bearings instead, something I have never seen before. Mine are still OK after over 400.000km.

This machined thing is cool and all but theres a $20 cap which does the exact same thing. This particular delete looks super pretty but its like, what, $450?

Sounds like to me EV manufacturing quality has not reached the quality of ICE. This might take another 10 years.

"Coolant delete" is probably good for marketing, as it makes people pay more attention and say wtf why 😅

Broken bolt means you need to just replace the upper control arm and knuckle. Happened to mine, but I decided to just have the adjustable arms installed.

How much was the repair? What's a new charger cost? Did you top off the coolant? Could you have put a 72 amp charger in to replace the 48 amp?

What changed in the newer Model S and can a newer used unit be swapped in?

There's a way to stop coolant getting to the rotor without dropping the LDU. It saves a ton of labor, but relies a bit more on cutting, bypassing and sealants. I like one discreet / machined part, but doing it this way comes at a steep premium.

It is so sad that Tesla and most independent Tesla shops around me in CA do not want to do the delete. They told me let it fail and replace the entire motor assembly for $5000. That logic makes no sense if it can be avoided. I had my delete done by Alex in Portland at his shop Wattworks
