DeLorean is just perfect for EV conversion, surprised that there is no companies offering kits for EV conversion for such a legendary car. Great video 😊❤
This was one of the best videos to help educate would be DIYers for building their own EV conversion. Thank you! I plan to rewatch this multiple times.
Sometimes I hate the random videos that pop up in my feed... and other times I wonder how or why its not popped up sooner. This video is def the last part -> Subscribed. Looking forward to how this comes along.
Please do a follow up with this conversion. I'd like to see if it was successful, what changes were made, range, will it do 88 miles and will his wife will drive it to the grocery store.
Back in the day when these were new, I was let down by these cars. Turning the key started...NOT a 1.2 Jiggawatt Mr. Fusion powerplant...but a bog standard Peugeot-Renault-Volvo V6. Looking forward to see what this car will do with a proper Tesla system! I really liked this guy's Project Electrollite muscle car, too.
This build is very cool and I think it’s appropriate as it is taking the car back to the future by modernizing it. Seems like it always should have been electric. I’m surprised it’s worth while to put such a large battery in the car as it doesn’t seem to be a car you’d want to be taking on long trips. I hope Jerome goes back when it’s finished. It would also be interesting to compare it to other DeLorean’s that have been converted.
I have three words for you: Electric. Subaru. Brat. I've wanted one of those since before Tesla was a glint in Eberhard's eye. The DeLorean is cool too.
Just epic! I LOVED everything about that video and watched every second. I can't wait to see this build completed and driven on the road - so Kyle better get over there and do all the things.
Love the conversion! We here in AZ can't use those iPads on the dash though. All you get is a black screen when it's hot here. No android or apple product is able to function in the heat here.
I have a 90s Suburban that I would love to do this to. Even just a single rear motor and a 60-75kWh battery would work for what I use it for. I considered buying back our totaled Model 3 for the purpose, but it got hit very hard in the back and damaged the rear motor, so I didn't think it was worth it. Plus it would be pretty traumatic for my spouse who was driving the car when it got hit. My concern with the way they've designed this is that the batteries basically become the crash structure. If this car is ever in a crash, even a minor one, its going to burn to the ground because the battery *will* get crushed.
The engine is usually the last thing to fail in a DeLorean. I know 2 people with more than 500,000 miles on it, which is remarkable for the early 80s. The DeLorean was faster than a Z28 Camaro in 1982 and only a second slower than a 1981 Corvette. It even got good mileage and still passes smog checks in California. In short- “junk” is not the right word for that engine at all. It is simply slow by modern standards. But it’s a 40+ year old car.
There were terrible cars with a super high price, why so few were sold. Only cool thing was the wing doors, but then give them crappy little sliders to do it, so net negative.

Delorean Alpha 5…
There are companies offering kits. Electric Classic Cars has a drop in kit.
Also Electrogenic has a drop-in kit for the DeLorean.

Thanks a bunch Will.

Never used a spare tire in my life.. all the cars i got rid of had a brand new spare in it
This is going to be such a great build!
How is this channel not blowing up. This video should help.
This is a great interview. I had no idea the channel existed until today.
This can t be cheap . Amazing video.

Great idea! just did a search and this same channel covered a Brat conversion 4 months ago. I would love to have one too!
Incredible! I wish I had that guys knowledge!

You guys are genius!
Great video, the Delorean is the perfect car to convert to EV.
Thank You for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth...
Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste
🙏🏻 😊 ✌ ☮ ❤
Finally! I wanted to do that project! Very nice love it!
I would love for Tesla to sell drivetrains, battery packs and controllers for the aftermarket industry
Exactly. I often think that this is truly a missed opportunity for them (and their stockholders).
Why not use NACS
Thanks for the walkthrough!. The Fellten CCS kits are great, but I just can't get over how expensive they are.
very impressive, thank you for sharing and looking forward to seeing the completed Delorean
This is awesome
can't wait to see this icon running and driving.
Nice project. Very impressive diy. The center motor does not matter when you have to fill up all the space with batteries?
Garage tour next!
I bet THIS DeLorean does have a flux-capacitor!
PLEASE give us an update-movie once you offer the kit! This seems up to no to become the best DMC-EV.
Awesome project

A suggestion for the camera operator. Just because the camera has a zoom lens doesn't mean that you have to continually use it.
Dont forget die 1,21 GW!!! 😅
5th DMC reborn, junk that Peugeot Engine and go EV

Great car for this! And sell the old engine and drivetrain to someone who can put it to good use. Like new!!
I think its a poor decision to put all that weight in back.
Good thing it's not your day job
... All that weight in the back is how they came factory
@@Doctors_TARDIS right, which made them handle poorly. So good job, make them just as bad right?

@@murraymadness4674 My old dodge neon was faster. Not a srt4, just an R/T
The customer must not have loved the car that much if it has less than 1000 miles. Sounds like the customer HATED the car.
