- Join Jerome as he unveils Richard ‘Moggy’ Morgan’s incredible creation: a Beast of a Bug. This isn't your average VW - it's a hill climb monster featuring a custom tubular chassis, a full Tesla Model S Plaid drivetrain, and not one, not two, but THREE battery packs!
Buckle up in this centre steer Herbie, the Love Bug’s (very) distant cousin, built in the UK and presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Can't wait for Pikes Peak! These builders are way ahead of most EV builders
Can't wait to see Bug Zapper scale Pike's Peak. Love the project, it's gorgeous.
We have got to get Moggy to race this against a Model S Plaid.
Would LOVE to see this thing on the lift to see a bit more of how they configured the drive units and packs.
I followed the build series of this car but from what i remembered it was not the plaid motor setup but the older performance setup😮 at the beginning they spoke about the plaid setup but at that time it was not available.
Moggy you should be running it at this year's FOS ;) what an awesome build ;)
Thank You for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth....
Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste .. 🙏🏻 😊 ✌ ☮ ❤
Bugzilla was another name for Bugzappa ...
I have my Mortgage on Moggy’s car winning!
Nice
How are you able to control a Plaid drivetrain with a 3rd party battery, etc? EV Controls told me the T-2C wasn't able to do it yet but they were working on it... Are you helping them test their prototype solution? Is the solution you're using commercially available yet?
How large are the batteries?
Romain Dumas?
Not Romain
Sébastien ?
What kind of pincher?
So how well does Steam do?
No Plaid parts in it when I follow the build. P100D motors yes, but not Plaid? Hmmm... So its been upgraded, or I'm very wrong
Upgraded throughout the build indeed.
Electrics should be banned on pikes, or have their own discipline, cuz they don't have the mechanical challenge of figuring out aspiration at altitude. It's a different mechanical game. They mostly have weight as a challenge
As Moggy explains there are also altitude challenged with EVs and cooling.
