I’m just going to put this out here but despite being nearly twenty years old Zoo Tycoon 2 (ultimate collection specifically) is probably the most professionally crafted, complex yet easy to navigate zoo park manager TO DATE and you could probably improve every zoo game since then by implementing some of its elements!

My picks: the maps, the factions, the species variety, decorations, the buildings, the attractions, species viewer, the gane itself. It has faults, and the creature variety only got better near the end, but I had so much fun playing it.

I have always loved the Metri's skins, and I'm glad it's visual shown was recognised here.

Frankly, even if Frontier had nailed the managerial aspect of the game I wouldn't want some survival horror or FPS to dilute the experience.

I wish they'd extend the customization to attractions, too. Instead of having four different types of park tours, you could just have one Guided Tour attraction, and customize the station and cars like Rollercoaster Tycoon.

I feel the aspects of the showy dinosaur combat sort-of fits in the game due to the fact the corp you're working for is not a bastion of morality. With the figure head characters often talking about these animals as if they're just assists; existing purely to be money printing attractions, the fact you have to care for them being an unfortunate side affect. At the end of the day, we are managing a park owned by a mega corporation that literally creates life for the purpose of making money (& playing God). I still agree that an "Escape Mode" doesn't fit the genre and would be too wonky to implement. I holding out some hope that JWE 3 has more park attractions, better building, and a little more indepth management. I've been sinking my hours into Prehistoric Kingdom for my dino park builder fix, even if I expect JWE3 to be out before PK is finished 😭.

Quite frankly, I don't think we need that in the game. Survival horror aspects shouldn't take priority over say elevated paths.

I think " Make Your Own Hybrid Creature" is the best idea for JWE.

I agree with the building customization system you talked about, but I would even take it a step further and say not only add visual interchangeability but also mechanical. For instance, adding additional extra binoculars inside of viewing platforms would mean more people can view at the same time. Animal skins for me don't matter the most, because in the end they are still the dinosaur. Though yes, I love having mixed colors throughout the herd, I just don't see an immediate need to improve upon the skin system other than not locking it behind research since well its completely visual unlike JWE1 where it created appeal increase with a new skin. I feel a better way to put the "Park Building" segment would be just overall more customizable and advanced park building features, and when I say advanced, I mean I want to build a park that would have nothing in similar to another park I've built. Fully agree with you on the creature animations, though it is easy to understand why they wouldn't offer such variety of animations due to the plethora of creatures. Though I would also like to expand, being there should be appeal bonuses to creatures who have been viewed by guests while doing their social animations or vocals even, just for that hint of realism. Dinosaur fights would also be a big one for a crowd drawer.

anytime someone asks for the dinosaurs to chase you in guest view i go "huh...????????" like this is a park management/builder like, this is the same issue with tf2 JWE2 isnt Jurassic Park survivor TF2 isnt Gmod etc etc

I wonder how a survival horror element would work. When you die is it a game over? Return to previous save? Return to title screen? Literally Dream It, Build It, Survive It? I hope these questions are never answered. But I agree with you, these things should only be happening if things have gone catastrophically wrong. Same with dinosaur combat, it's a consequence of your managerial decisions.

Maybe a park inspector/park guest Mode in which you can visit parks others have uploaded.

Making a Survival Horror mode for JWE3, while fun sounding (Spore Galactic Adventures vibes) would for one, be an underwhelming mess, and for seconds, be made by Frontier, and thus not even a functioning underwhelming mess. It feels a bit like those people who claimed they could use NFTs (aka those old monkeyjpgs) to transport guns between video games. Just a bunch of work for an utterly unneeded bad feature; though I guess at least the "survival mode" wouldn't be a net negative.

I think as a sequel compared to JWE it’s good but as a. Standard game it’s not a good sandbox

I liked the concept of the scientist system, but its execution was piss poor.

JWE was underwhelming and bad. JWE 2 improved stuff, sure, but its still underwhelming and bad. Maybe Frontier will finally create a good game by the time JWE6 is three years into development.

This game could be something so much better. As bugs go, I cannot stand the glitch where the rangers get stuck and are unable to do status checks. Even though there's nothing blocking them. You have to manually drive them out of the ranger station and reassign them to the ranger post. It's a nuisance.

Tbh I really loved evolution 2 it is really cool but we can all agree there was a lot of downgrades in the game. For example the fences I don't really like how they have the blue area that builds it, it just takes a while to build But also another thing to I'm pretty sure we all wanted different feeders and entertainment things for are dinosaurs or also baby dinosaurs but like you said in a old video you don't think that baby dinos are coming I agree but overall evo2 has some ups and downs.

I think it's somewhat telling that there doesn't appear to be a mod that adds actual bridges or deep water. It's very likely difficult to implement for one reason or another. You talk about amenity implementation and this is something I'm obsessed with perfecting. I appreciate your attention to detail with the design pieces. However, I tend to go beyond that. Constantly, I ask how does this store get its supplies and how do they get rid of trash? Essentially, every park I create has the supply side facing an employee only area that lead back to distribution hubs that connect to a cargo dock. The designs disallow these areas to overlap with guest areas and in most cases I try to hide them away. Good video, you consistently give solid advise.

Thanks again for doing these! I struggle heavily with the intricacies of park building and having these kinds of viewpoints are very beneficial.
