    (im a challenge mode player so i'll give my take on the first point) i think a happy medium would be; instead of dinosaurs giving birth, id want an option to release baby dinosaurs from the hatchery, and you get benifits from it as well as some benifits of waiting until they're adults
    for example, you'd have to research like "better infant care" to be able to release said babies, and that they would hatch faster, and "live longer" but as a downside, have maybe like 40% the appeal. So generally it would be smarter to wait unless you absolutely NEED a quick boost in appeal.
    the time difference would also be negligible for animals that hatch super fast (IE the ornithomimids and early game animals)
    i dont see how dinosaurs giving birth on their own would be a smart idea to add to challenge, except for an added issue in a certain scenario.
    say there was an "Isla Sorna" challenge mode that every new dinosaur you hatch you have to administer an anti breeding medication (like in return to Jurassic park, but this time with actual babies spawning), which say isnt researchable until 1 star, and also depends on security rating so you'd have to research stronger medication for a Tyrannosaurus than a Segisaurus (basically exactly like the researchable tranquilization in custom challenge mode)

      I mean a system where rangers collect eggs to take to hatcheries would be perfectly viable and a good solution. None of these points i raised in this video are things that are not solvable, i just dont trust frontier to spend the time to make them mechanically worth while

      @@tri-clawgaming7682then the problem isn't the feature, it's frontiers, this mechanic is obviously a must because it is literally one of the main plot points of the frist movie and the reason the sequels happened, you would have to be literally insane not at least start testing to put it in because the demand is justifiably ginormous and the third game needs to stand out more than ever to have any sales

    I agree with a lot of your points. Especially on the JPOG Site B. But I do think that a lot of these elements people want are plausible, but not viable for a third game. If the game were to release say, alongside the next movie, it most certainly won't have baby dinosaurs. That's a project for a game that won't be released anytime soon, possibly years from now. Frontier can't just flip a switch and have these things happen, they require a lot of time and effort to achieve.

    I will say and continue to say this, the people who were begging for the paleontology system regret it and always turn it off in sandbox mode, Bestinslot, Thegamingbeaver, hell even Square herself complains about it and she was excited to see it implemented. This will be the same with breeding. Unless they make breeding ONLY TO SPECIFIC or Canonical species that have breeded. I don't want or add an anti breeding shot like they "added" in JWE1 return to Jurassic Park DLC.

      *nods* hence my point 4 on this video. It isnt the idea that i have the greatest issue with, it is Frontier. I dont trust them to take the time to implement the system mechanically well. The scientist system, the aviary system, the lagoon system...all demonstrates basic mechanical problems.

    Actually, from what I’ve seen, the social group system in Evolution 2 doesn’t quite work the same as in Evolution 1 - you need the specific number, but I’m not sure if the number you can have is as limited as before.

    • @tri-clawgaming7682
      @tri-clawgaming7682  2 месяца назад

      The social population number is usually a range. For example for Triceratops its Social group is 2-3 and its population group is 1-16. This means that at a minimum you need 2 of the animals to be happy, and 3 is the maximum they would allow. You can house them with up to an additional 13/14 animals that are different. This really hasnt changed much between games.

  • @plfaproductions
    @plfaproductions 2 месяца назад +3

    Baby dinos are inevitable, it's literally the fist movie plot, you can either hope it's good in some creative way or hope you can at least turn it off because not having it would be a total management missplay on frontier's part (even if the system sucks), say what you want about the aviary and the lagoons but without them many wouldn't have bought jwe2, and sinse it's a very natural thing and a very popular one it's probably going to be a selling point, the point of an enclosure is having the animal behaving just like it would in the wild and animals in the wild reproduce even if we don't like so, in an aquarium you can save money by having a reproducing pair and to control the population you put small predators to hunt the babies maybe you cound do the same in your park, and I would rather get this and all it's implications instead of jwe2 plus a bunch of new dinosaurs that add nothing to the game because they are incredibly shallow, if the next game doesn't have something in the same level I really don't see the point and neither will the marketing team and the higher-ups

    • @rexfan1002
      @rexfan1002 2 месяца назад

      They're not Universal doesn't want baby dinosaurs in the game. Frontier has to abide by that or be fired, it's the same reason there's no children visitors in the game. Children dieing is another big no.
      The main selling point of JWE 3 will be mammals, an overhauled lagoon & Aviary system. An overhauled environment that allows water depth, swimming, Water falls & the river tour.

      @tri-clawgaming7682  2 месяца назад

      I agree that perhaps it is one of the most obvious ways on making a new game worth while. But i seriously doubt Frontiers ability to implement something like this without doing a very bad job of it. From my experiance and from what folks have said to me, many players dont actually use the lagoons very often due to the bad implemention. It might have been a selling feature to them, but if they arent using it whats the point?

    I think you are right, yet i think natural dinosaur-reproduction needs to be in the next game. Maybe just where they put down a nest and after like 5min it spawns an adult dino. this should tie in with a rework of the genetics system, where a dinosaur gets positiv and negative attributes with a animal genome, not like the scale we have in JWE2, for example: you give an animal Frog DNA to get a positive attribute, but you still have a chance for creature to get the gender-swap aballity (like in JP). I think something like this is needed only because uncontrolled reproduction was a big deal in the first movie and should therefore be a security risk ingame too (of course sandbox should have changable rules)

    • @tri-clawgaming7682
      @tri-clawgaming7682  2 месяца назад +1

      That sort of system is probably the best way it could go, but again, I feel like players who want natural reproduction would complain about only getting one infant out of a egg nest of many eggs. I think there are solutions to all the problems i raised here, it would just take mechanical changes and plenty of time developing the game to achieve it...and thats not something im convinced frontier would do.

      @@tri-clawgaming7682why ? In nature only a few eggs get to hatch, and if they aren't going to change anything on jwe2 and just sell us the same thing again with a couple of new dinos that won't really mean anything in a few weeks... if they pull that I think I won't be alone in abandoning this series of games, jwe3 needs a sales pitch and breeding is as unreasonable as aquatics and flyers

    These are fair arguments against baby dinosaurs. I wouldn't want to sacrifice the addition of Cenozoic megafauna or more Paleozoic fauna for baby dinosaurs. Not only that, but Frontier should focus on improving the third game from the sequel like letting the Nothosaurus leave the lagoons and venture onto land.

    Thought you were playing Prehistoric Kingdom for a second lol
    I'm convinced Megaquarium is the best zoo game, because it accurately shows that animals only breed if certain conditions are met. Every zoo game with breeding runs into problems with overpopulation, and if it happens in Megaquarium, well, you simply sell the rock/plant that your fish use for breeding, and you're fine again.
    If you don't want to be wonderful and the goat like Megaquarium is, you could also use an "Try for baby" slider for your dinosaurs.
    Edit: People want baby animals because either babies or eggs are really central to many JP properties. The Velo baby reveal and nest reveal in movie one, the juvie rex in TLW being the most important dinosaur character of the whole movie, the eggs in JP3 being the reason the Raptors chased the group, and the baby Pteranodons being the reason the adult was hunting the characters. Protecting/living alongside Baby Bumpy being a major part of early Camp Cretaceous. Baby Beta being the MacGuffin that JWD revolved around. Babies are a stupidly huge aspect for this franchise.
    (All that being said, I wouldn't mind if babies were limited to "Eternally young" alt skins, either)

    • @tri-clawgaming7682
      @tri-clawgaming7682  2 месяца назад

      I mean thats a very directed reproduction method, to have some sort of structure that you place or remove. I fear that something like that would not please the folks who want reproduction as its not 'natural' enough. I agree that babies are important in the movies, and were a huge part of the first novel. But those are movies, and games are very different hence my first point. The pro-baby camp only say they 'want babies' without considering the huge amount of work and mechanical changes that doing so would need.

    Me personally baby dinosaurs are actually a hassle to code in and just for game play. Like would they be made through hatcheries, or born asexually. If it’s the first case what’s the point of adding adults. Then there’s there specific needs. Do they need milk or special foods. And if you don’t have an adult, do they just die. It’s tedious as k said. Could you neuter adult creatures. Because like u said seeing an extra 5 baby trikes show up would be very annoying. And selling them would be equally as tedious. And if you turn off aging do creatures still grow from babies to adults? Massive overhauls would be made and it would just suck. If anything we need more features or things to enhance our parks that aren’t dinosaurs or prehistoric creatures. I would KILL for a buildable cave. Or more foliage and such. And they aren’t necessary. If anything we need more love for flyers and swimmers. Give walking animations for flyers and more socials. We need new interesting mechanics such as a hybrid system. Creating your own creature like in Jurassic world the mobile game. All these different variations with their own unique style to keep your park fresh. That and occasional regional decorations would also help. Italian decoration. Japanese decoration, Egyptian etc. we need these things as the current decorations have been very sparse lately. We just need fixes and actual needs met
