Bought the bedec to use on rads and skirting after watching a few vids about it. Used dulux trade satinwood in past and followed instructions to the letter i was advised bu dulux. Its ok but wouldnt use again. Marks easily and chips with impacts

hey Steve.... I always tended to use Dulux Supermatt for blocking out (even if topcoats were anther brand. Once I did that and customer came down from Birmingham after I had left and called me .He blasted me down the phone ( my first Mobile). I could not get a word in but he shouted at me to say I had not filled cracks etc. for ages. After a long rant I told him the game plan.... There was a gift left on the job when I returned... Hi Steve I've got white doors to paint in an oil-based finish would you put two coats on top as a finish. And use no other paints like primers or undercoats. I'm talking about using the multi surface bedec paint 😂😂😂

Hi mate, any suggestions on filling large holes? I’m using easifill and it’s shrinking and not setting, any suggestions? Should I take it all out and do it again? Or use toupret maybe

Great video, mate. I used the Bedec black satin on my upvc front door last year, and it's still solid. Have you tried the Bedec going over oil based gloss ?

Would you expect other water based paints to hold up the same after 30+ days of curing or do you think these two are special?

I used the Bedec light grey satin on an exterior pvc door and it's held up very well. Seems solid. Great vid mate 👍

Peeling wall paper and where the wall paper has been peeled in certain areas it has peeled down to cardboard. It makes wall not very smooth do I use filler in uneven areas ?

Toupret filler supposedly doesn't flash or grin. Can anyone vouch for this?

Why do some decorators say prime a wall if you have done lots of patching with something like Easyfill? I spot prime with emulsion over the filled areas then put two finishing coats on after. Never been a problem with flashing. Let me know your thoughts.

Really enjoying this series mate, it's really appreciated. Can I ask, is there a reason you cut in, then roller each wall in turn, rather than cut in the whole room, then roller the room? Or is it simply that's the way that you prefer to do it?

I put a screw into the rawplug and tap that with a hammer to take in about 5 mil below surface, this then gives you something solid to fill onto.

I prefer to email/message trades people 'cos i know they may have their hands full on on the job. I don't want to inconvenience them. But the amount of tradespeople who don't reply is quite a lot, I've found. A simple, "sorry, we are too busy" etc is better than nothing. Quite often, I have to resort to sites like mybuilder to find people. Another pet peeve is people not showing up at all when they say they would.

Hi there, I’m a decorating newbie, about to decorate my downstairs toilet and hallway, and I’d really appreciate some advice please… I’m looking to use this easycare paint, pure brilliant white, as that is the colour currently on the walls as it is a new build (well - 3 years old now lol) and I feel like it’s a good colour because the hallway is very small. This might be a really stupid question, but I don’t know what I’m doing haha - can I use the easycare on the ceiling as well as the walls, to save buying two separate lots of paint, one for walls and one for ceiling? Seeing as it’s all going to be the same colour? And does this paint look any different when it’s dry, as opposed to the standard matte type paint? Really hope you see this comment - and thank you very much in advance for any advice!

yes paint ceiling in ceiling colour then picture rail in the woodwork colour, then walls, then you are cutting in the wall to picture rail. or are you planning on painting the picture rail with the ceiling paint
