Hi mate love your work. Love this paint but stopped using it because its a hybrid. Painted a staircase January last year using the satinwood. Went back to the same job in November to paint a bedroom and when it came to painting the door frame where the frame from the bedroom met frame from the staircase there was a noticeable difference in the whiteness. With having about 10% oil in its going to turn if its not getting natural light. Have you noticed this problem. I now using Bedec which is 100% waterbased
Thankyou very much. The bedec is a great product, i know what you mean bud, it would blend in over time lol. i have used the bedec and allcoat over the last 6 months, and to be honest i have had my head turned, products are evolving all the time.
Hi INEXTERIORS Question ? How much paint would I need to paint two coats front and back of a door the same size to the door you painted in your video ? I have x 4 doors of a similar size and would like to know total amount of paint needed. I am going to prime first - which I know will be half the amount of Top coats. so for one door front and back would be 4 coats on each door . x 4 doors ? total amount of paint in liters would i need ? 🙃
Yes it can do interior or exterior, but pick a good day to do it, don't do it in winter or when rain is imminent. Also use the Aqua undercoat it is also exterior/interior. Don't use the Aqua guard undercoat that is for interior only.
Looks great but why did it need two coats it looked good and solid with the first coat I used it a couple of weeks ago and it went on top of oil under coat and looked fine
it does look ok after 1 undercoat and 1 gloss, it looks even better after 2 glosses, for best result i would say 2 top coats, i have only used it over the aqua undercoat, i have not used it over the oil undercoat becuase you are not meant to. how well does it grip to the oil undercoat.
It should be fine with the qtech 5 hvlp as they can spray solvents . not sure about airless, but will clean with water. The aqua guard is probably the safe bet. What do you think bud. i have only started spraying 4 months ago so my knowledge is very limited at the moment lol.
I live in a flat and was going to use this on my doors and skirtings. Would i be ok washing off my brushes and kettle in my sink or is there a chance I’d damage it given it’s a hybrid with about 10% oil in it?
It is not 100% water based. As others say it is hybrid, probably 10% solvent. So there will be some faint yellowing, but not as bad as full solvent based paints.
I appreciate your real life experience. As im sure you know, Johnstones only guarantees "long lasting whiteness" for it's more expensive product Aqua 'Guard' Satin, and not the cheaper one, but that could just be marketing strategy to justify the higher price.
In my house I have 1 door done in the Aqua guard and the rest done in Aqua satin, only the other day I was looking at it thinking it looks know different. Or there definitely is not much in it.
What you doing painting doors at 6.30 in the morning? Row with the Mrs?
i was in the early routine lol.

@Inexteriorstv I now only use full oil based or full waterbased. Have you tried the bedec msp Steve? It's worth a try. I'm very impressed with it 👍
@@davidstanger9077 I have used it, and the allcoat, i am very impressed and must admit it has turned my head lol.

how many door sides in total, are you doing frames and skirting and windows.
Is this suitable as an alternative to oil based gloss for an external front door?

I only use waterbased paints in my paint sprayer so if i put thesd in it. It should be fine. What do you think

Washing them off at the end of the day sorry
Yes you can wash them.
How does it compare to the aqua guard?
its good to be fair, and you can use this on exteriors.

I hear you there, to be honest I have seen some door I did a few years ago in the Aqua satin and they looked as good as what they did when I did them.
