All About YoYo Loaches: Almora / Pakistani Loach
Yoyo loaches are quite possibly the easiest of the loaches to keep as they are very active feeders, easy to get hold of and will adapt to life in most setups so long as you can give them enough space. Just be aware that they can either be large or small, and there doesn't seem to be anything in the middle :D

How to Culture Microworms. NO yeast: Banana worms, Walter worms, Microworms.
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.Месяц назад
Micro worms are my go-to food for fry as they are just so much easier to keep than baby brine shrimp and once the culture is established it keeps going for as long as you feed it, always being available for feeding to fry. Do not use yeast in this culture is it can produce alcohol if it ferments with sugars from the bacteria - which will kill of your worms. This little video is about how to cul...
How to Get Rid of Hair Algae from an Aquarium
Просмотров 10 тыс.2 месяца назад
Hair algae is a pain in fish tanks - it grows fast, it covers everything in a carpet of green and worst of all it can trap and kill small fish if its dense enough. There are plenty of myths out there about the best ways to get rid of hair algae including certain fish that will eat it, but to be honest the only reliable method i have come across for hair algae removal is to do it the old fashion...

    Yeah I got a couple of carniverous snails from a fish shop, and they ended up being way more trouble than they were worth! Oh sure they killed the pest snails for me... but then they BRED, and pretty soon, I had way more of their little mini-me's, snailing about in my tank, than I ever had the other invasive kind! 🤦🏻‍♀️😩 lol UGH... lesson learned! Instead, I'm just gonna pick 'em out with my long tweezers, and give these babies BACK to the shop where I got their parents from! I'm not trying to breed these suckers for anybody damn

    There are many very good videos from various people around the world who cover a wide range of subjects. However, having watched many of them, I'm afraid that the best that they can hope to achieve is to be a close second to Lauren @ Tiny Menagerie. Lauren's manner is always relaxed, informative and more like a friend talking to you about a favourite fish, than someone 'telling you like it is' Thank you, Lauren, this video is delightful and interesting, just like all of your others.

  • @aquascapeguide
    @aquascapeguide 11 дней назад

    Hair algae is not an infection, it's but to an imbalance of phosphates to nitrates. All you need to do is manually remove it or hit it with a little hydrogen peroxide to get it to go away. From there you just need to process a bunch of water changes to reduce the phosphates. Done and done 😊

    I got rid of hair algae in about 4 to 5 months by careful feeding and trimming leaves of affected plants , introducing more plants to the system and water changes of 24 to 30% at least once a week. Mollies and Siamese Algae Eaters helped too.

    I have 5 Kuhli Loaches for more than five years, and they are still alive and well. So far, the best scavengers and get along well with cherry shrimps. The thing we must pay attention to is: They don't like instant light turning on and off (dimming recommended), also they're really sensitive to aquarium salt and other chemicals. Any slight vibrations, like tapping the glass, can get them spooked and stressed. They may injure themself or jump out of the tank by that.

    Hello. I am a fishkeeper currently living in the tropics (so I don't use heaters). Due to conflicting guides online relating to this fish, I only kept them in a 15 gallon wide dirted tank and with no free space at home, a bigger tank was not possible. I started with 6 killies and managed to breed them successfully even with a pair of male endler guppies. Although they are more than 6(8) now, I managed to keep all of them alive for months now. I have given away the population above 10 to someone else while keeping those remaining 10 in that same tank. I believe the key was heavily planting that tank for their hiding spots while still having some space for them to swim around especially when feeding them.

I've ordered some red shrimp just for this thank until they get larger. I want baby's too but I would love them all in my big tank? Is it possible to move them once they are bigger? Or will my tetras eat there babies? I have another five gallon tank so should I just keep them in the small tanks so they all live??

      Tetras will eat all shrimplets they find. But a few will survive if they have enough hiding places. I would keep a colony in their own tank to be safe and just add larger ones to the big tank now and then to increase the numbers in there.

    I have four Kuhlis in my 29, can't wait to get more! Most of them hide under the driftwoods and rocks, but one that I named Deku, has made his home inside of a dwarf sword plant in a back corner. He will stick his face in the substrate and his body stands straight up amongst the leaves and its just both the silliest and cutest sight. One of my albino cories likes to go hang out with him. After wanting these guys so badly for a year, I finally had a big enough tank and the hype is real!!! They are show stealers when they do make their appearance ❤ Great video as usual!!!!

    i love my yoyos! 2 of the 3 i have now are voracious pigs who prefer bladder snails above all other food , i even have a special tank just to grow plenty of bladder snails for them. the 3 i have currently all refuse to eat malasian snails, though some i have had before would eat them. they will eat ramshorns when they get desperate for snails if i havent given them any for at least a week. they also are great to eat unwanted gupoy babies. they eat about 90% which is a rate i can keep up with so i dont get overrun with guppies. i have them in a community tank with the guppies and some kuhli loaches(who only occasionally will eat a snail, except when i crush them, then they will eat them happily) great video! : )
