  • Sterbai corydoras are a rather solid and chunky species of cory catfish that combines a beautiful colouration and patterning with a very gentle personality. Little wonder they are so eternally popular in the aquarium hobby and condisered by some to the best corydoras!
My favourite fishy stuff! (yes these are affiliate links :) )
    Lights
Nicrew Classic LED - amzn.to/3fG3Uv6 - Traditional led light that's got a nice high output in a white/cool colour range. Makes plants look extra green.
Nicrew SKY - amzn.to/3Ktn45U - really nice light for natural looking tanks, also the one I use for filming.
    Filters
Pat Mini - amzn.to/3fE1u0k - popular for a reason, just a superb little filter thats great for shrimp tanks and fish alike.
ASAP - amzn.to/3nBuytp - the old favourite and the one i return to most frequently.
    Air Pump
AP-3 Kit : amzn.to/34UMA3q - Great little air pump, not a silent runner, but has been very reliable for me.
    Tanks
Scaper 45 - amzn.to/3KBxG2H - a lovely high quality tank that comes with a super strong light, and a decent enough hang on back filter - perfect for newbies and scapers alike.
    My filming stuff
    Camera - Cannon 200D - amzn.to/354OLlc - nice camera, easy to use.
BigTripod - Manfrotto befree - amzn.to/3GLXDdj - pricey but super sturdy and can take being knocked over a lot by clumsy operators.
Lil' tripod - amzn.to/355WmQs - can't pronounce the name but it's been a good tripod for filming things on tables or when I have tanks on the floor.

Love this species of Cory. They are becoming easier and cheaper to acquire.

Yes and it’s about time too. Sterbais have been crazy expensive for way too long. It just puts people off keeping them.

That was a very informative video. You covered everything someone would need to know in order to decide if that cory was the one for them or not. 👍😃

A brick with fins, LOL! I have 8 in a 400L, they are much more willing to be visible at the front than my Corydoras similis (Smudge Spot Cory) who like to hide and are quite skittish.

I started with salt and pepper corydoras and within a year my school of 4 turned in to school of 12 😂 without much of my involvement. Now, I keep sterbai corydoras and they are such dorks, but as you said no breeding activity yet ( they were juvenile when I got them). By the way, after selling my school of salt and pepper corries, I ended up finding one single fry. Now I have 1 salt and pepper male who is chilling with sterbai school lol 😂

Awesome video! I would love a fleet of these chunkers in a 75 or larger with Angelfish and some rams.
I have some other species of cories and I was able to spark their breeding by feeding frozen food for a couple weeks. I liked to bury cubes of bloodworms in my substrate and watch them really dig in!

Great video, so thankyou for that.
Yes they are strong for sure a few years ago I had a tank smash and by the time I got to try rescue any fish and save my house from flood, I saved 100% sterbais from dyeing, other fish different story, but they are still swimming around today! I just find they do not lay many eggs and never on the glass.
