This was a great bunch for testing, with a big surprise in the end. Thank you Kevin! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OepNr_D4lqbdTFqdqWl1rmAd4bOzPzJe6J0iEWrdJGU/edit?usp=sharing Blade Banter has been updating the list. I have a couple hundred more to get to him, but the list is growing nicely. Thank you David!

See below in the comments for more details. Thanks to LTK and Timbo for sending these awesome knives! Link to Outpost76's vid ruclips.net/video/YbYD0MTR8GQ/видео.html

70Dodgeman, Phil, sent this great bunch for testing. There is an issue with one of them, but he says it holds an edge well enough. I think it's annealed back towards the pivot, maybe for straightening? Thank you Phil!

It's been a few years since I've made videos. My personal 10v tested at 64.9 twice. I believe Shawn (TripleB) tested some at similar hardness. Shawn developed their HT protocol for 10v, so it's as good as it gets for production 10v.

@jcoolG192 thank you so much! I do wish you made more videos they are a lot of fun to watch! Spyderco was at the Oregon knife collector show this weekend and Eric found a ton of exclusives from Sal's office he brought to sell so I decided on a 10v pm2 and my son picked up a bombshell. Wish I had tons more money they had some incredible stuff available that hasn't been out in years!

"This is the first that addresses the notion that all machines have a +/- 1 point variance. Because of the way that information has been presented, many believe that to be a tolerance built into all machines" To be clear, there are two main types of variances : -random -systematic Random variances are things which will change every time you run the same test even on the same sample, even if you were to run it on the same piece of steel. These are due to physical limitations of the machine and the operator, every machine will have a random variance tolerance IF it has been calibrated. Random variances can be reduced through proper statistical methods. Systematic variances mean the readings will not change with an operator doing the same test on the same machine, but IF you go to a different machine, or switch to a different operator, then you will get a difference. If a machine was professionally calibrated it would also list the systematic variance, a LAB rated machine would have both independently, but you could also just get a total. If you really want to understand the limitations of HRC testing, then read this report from the guys who literally wrote the book on standards testing (NIST) : nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/Legacy/SP/nistspecialpublication960-5.pdf Note the list NINE sources of error when talking HRC measurements and this doesn't mean a mistake in procedure, this means you are professionally trained and you do everything right and there are still NINE factors which can cause your result to deviate from the true value of the material. To be blunt, if anyone thinks they can take a Rockwell machine, and know the true value of hardness to within 0.1 HRC, this is just fantasy, and any QC operator would tell you that at BEST you could get within an order of magnitude of that. Send things to a professional NIST certified lab and watch their reports. For reference, Buehler sells HRC blocks. Their 60 HRC calibration block is guaranteed to be within 58-62 HRC. They are an accredited supplier (The Buehler-Wilson Hardness Calibration Laboratory is accredited to ISO / IEC 17025 by A2LA). This means when you set your machine to 60 HRC based off that block, it could be as much as 2 HRC points high or low.
