America first.. 25% to 900% tariffs on Chinese goods sounds bad but the Idea of allowing the the Chines to kill off American EV manufacturing would be an even greater nightmare. Don't care if investing in the rebuilding of an American based supply chain system is expensive. Surrendering any parts of our economy to Chinese Communist should never be a plan.

I am Chinese and I grew up in the US and went to university in the US in the late 90s. From early 2000 till 2018 many Chinese chose US for higher education because entrepreneurs are making money but China didn't have enough universities. I am located in Shenzhen and in the early 2000s, it only had one university for a population of over 15mil. Now it has 17 if we include technical vocational schools. I have friends in Hong Kong that graduated university in the US chose to send their kids to universities in Hong Kong because it's a fraction of the price, better quality, and much safer

There is a problem here. To start mining one needs to invest a money. If Bitcoin than crashes (like it has done four times before), you go bankrupt.. The point is, finances will probably move to bitcoin but it will take more time to make Bitcoin stable enough, it will not happen overnight but in waves.

I think stablecoins may be even more important than bitcoin as it allows trading in dollars without having to touch actual dollars, so it's much more sanction-proof.

This trading block was established because Trump wouldn't trade, unless he received exclusive access to the products. This just wasn't fair to every other country. He was also flighty applying changing 'tanty' tariffs etc. He was not being fair or trustworthy. The BRICS blockchain trading platform was required to get a fair trading environment. It also allowed agreements with guaranteed long term prices, which made it safe to make costly upfront investments.

I want to hear a reporter yell out to Trump somewhere in public - 'Mr. President, what about the gallium from China' Do you know such a reporter that can do that? We need much more of this kind of thing. the questions are always about immigration, inflation and other such surface manifestations, but where are the truly deep challenging questions? Well to be fair the US has quite a bit of resources too, but it seems it's so tangled up in red tape and various issues that it may as well not have them. For example refineries were built to refine not the type of oil that is typically mined in the US, so oil drilled in the US has to be shipped elsewhere for refinement and the oil for US refineries has to be imported. Go figure that one..

Instead, Trump threatened to take over Panama Canal. I do not think Panama will welcome Americans.

Software is very difficult to develop well, especially if it is building on a large, pre-existing library. It would be much easier to bring new people into exoerienced teams than share information and expect them to figure out the end to end development project. With regards sharing data , it is valued by Xi's teams to develiop open standards and share them. Trump refused to allow them to share anything developed for him, nor allow anyone else to sell it. This is a fundamentally flawed approach with software brcause of the time it takes to make it, and the efficiency ofvreusability. It's also mot collaborative. I also think, I need to confirm, but I believe Xi wants teams developing simular products and services that have overlappung value strreams, licated together because it simplifies quality reviews, fosters cross-polination of ideas, and is more efficient, more environmentally sound. If one factory ipark is focssed on one product type, you can afford to invest heavily in continuodmsly developing the best methods, equipment. Replixating factories doesn't acvount for RnD innovation.We spend 20-50% of our time innovating. It would be wasteful to duplicate. I do think education for speciakist skills like this should be taught by industry, in a hybrid school/apprentice context.
