I got married at 30 to a friend from college that I met at 17. We had stayed in touch. She called me one day after looking me up in the phone book. I thought she was the one. 7 years later we had broken up. She said we should work on making ourselves better. We divorced and she kept in contact with me. It really was hard for me. I would tell her I don’t know how long I can just be talked too. 2 years later i blocked her. In the back of my mind I had wished she would show up at my house. Instead she sent a card saying what have you done. I haven’t spoke to her since then. She went in to have a child. I bettered myself on my own. It’s still sad at it will probably always will be but it is a part of my life journey and I’m happy with who I am.

The way I was taught the western Ikigai is that it isn't something that instantly happens, but something that CAN fall into all 4 circles, then working in making it fit. But the 5 pillars of Ikigai you taught here, I think I need them. Because my only answer would have been "so others don't get upset" or "to avoid eternal punishment". Though thinking on it, good food is a solid answer, or funny enough, the people I could help one day with my western Ikigai.

I completely understand what you are going through or went through. I went through a divorce in 2018 but I keep getting reminded of it every time I see my Ex for child visitation or my Ex tries to file legal motions against me. Even though I never did anything against her or our child, my Ex has a passion of hatred against me that's almost inhuman. It will get better for you and anyone else who goes through a breakup with someone. Remember what Annie said: " When I'm stuck with a day That's gray and lonely I just stick out my chin And grin and say, oh The sun'll come out Tomorrow So ya gotta hang on 'Til tomorrow come what may Tomorrow, tomorrow I love ya tomorrow You're always, a day away " Mako, I know you can hang-on till tomorrow, it will get better. What you see now that you have been taken back to once you began with only one responsibility, Feeling lonely is that you are not communicating with yourself and many people in their lives have this opportunity thrust upon them at certain times to acknowledge, "I have been given this opportunity once again, now I can revisit where I started or wanted to start in a new and mature way". Wow!- just think of that? You can to a beach and look out and see the new purpose of this time given to You. Some of us are meant to fulfil a life of the 'accepted everywhere' and some have a life of despair and always trying to catch up, some just constantly live the same missed opportunities and the struggles over and over again, some don't see the challenges any different to the last challenge, but that's just life and some live in silence (monks etc) and those that live peacefully alone which allows them to communicate with themselves in the ordinary world but they are not just quiet for this reason, they are connected to both sides which is where you may be. The earth inhabitants look as their culture wants but not what they are here for and to this, life punches you in the stomach for you to bow down and take a look where I want to take you.
