I retired two years ago knowing things would be tight. But I chose quality time over sitting in a cubicle 9 hours a day. There are times when the social security runs out before the end of the month but I always manage to get by, without incurring any debt. With rising prices it is getting a bit more difficult and I contemplate getting some kind of simple job- hopefully something I could enjoy- to help with expenses. But I definitely do NOT want to go back to an office job unless it is in a small company. It's nice having the time and the (mental) energy to paint and make music and garden. Quality over quantity. I am very fortunate that I was able to do this.
that is amazing that you are spending your energy to paint, make music, and work on your garden :) its on my bucket list to make music for my video someday!
Loved this video. I find your journey so inspiring. I just made a video about how I quit my job to go into freelance, but I didn't even touch on the finance side of it. It's so scary, but it's really refreshing and nice (at least for me) to see someone else chatting about it. Also, I am so jealous of your little herb garden area!
I enjoy your videos a lot and also love watching your journey after quitting 9 to 5! I just lowered my hours and will work part-time starting in October. I am super excited but the financial anxiety is definitely real. Thanks a lot for your insights on that! I think you made a good point when it comes to the comparison-mindset which is going strong when you are in the corporate and consumerist world but less so once you take a stepp back from all of it.
I would say I am not very confident about my self-discipline when I think about quitting my job. Without having organizational structures or supervisors watching me, I might become lazy easily and quickly😢 Uncertidity and anxiety around financial insecurity can become my new motivator when I become self-employed.
I'm always so excited when your new videos come up ❤ The soumen dish looks great! I also live on cold noodles these days in Japan, soumen and soba are my go tos right now haha! I sometimes mix soumen with mentsuyu, cilantro and lemon for a refreshing lunch 😊
As someone who also hates packing with my default being to just toss everyone in my bag randomly, I totally understand your frustration. 😂 And yes. You do look and sound more comfortable in front of the camera and I love it!!!
Great video, Mako. Cool to see you eating the Scandinavian crispy seed bread. I'm from Sweden and we call it "fröknäcke" in our language. The summer noodles looked really yummy and refreshing too. Congratulations on being a business owner! Hope you have lots of success and happiness, whatever that means to you.
Hi Mako... Thank you for sharing your life with us. Your noodle looks delicious, healthy and so easy to prepare. Will try out your recipe someday 😊So good to grow your own herbs. You can always have fresh herb as and when you want. Once again, another great video from you and you look cute in your glasses 🤓
When I tried talking to the camera last time, I came with an idea to draw and put 2 paper eyes to the sides of the lens. I'm still not sure if it's more comfortable than just a lens or if it is rather cringe😅
Good Luck, Mako, on your new "Business adventure". May D ivine Providence guide You and allow You to take the right decisions in order to be happy and successful on this road.🌈🌟☀️

Thank you so much! I’m obsessed with fröknäcke lol I’m so happy they sell them in Japan (even though they are a bit overpriced…)
@@mylifeasmako Haha yes it's so good! Can also be made fairly easily at home if you can find the ingredients 😁

thank you ☺
Get a ultrawide monitor to edit makes it easier.
The thing is… I already have one and I’m still slow 😅 lol

haha I thought about putting googly eyes too because when I film for a long time it kinda starts to feel weird for me to keep staring at a lens lol
You're from Kobe. I love Kobe beef
Haha yes! 🥰
