How To Build A Deck: Cutting In Lights After T&G - Colorado Custom Covers & Decks
Holy crap bro, a family of elephants could move into that wide open mitre.
Difficult to follow. One picture is worth a thousand words.
Thanks man best explanation on RUclips. Do you put onr on each side or a single one is enough?
That’s what I’m wondering
@@llxzii7791 yeah exactly
Pretty much worst video ever
im in Brighton. want to come give me a quote to get a deck built?
No butyl tape?
Will that work on tongue and groove in a living room on walls?? And do you only have to use one coat, did you have to sand?
No sure haven’t used it for indoor but there is no smell so should be fine. We always sand first
Well done mate. Thought I was the only one that conscientious.
Can these replace blocking?
No
Can I tie these into the vertical end o a floor truss since the top plate of the basement wall is most likely much lower than the deck 2 x 10 joists? I think I'll run that question by the inspector too. Just looking for opinions
I'm using Tong oil on the pine board for the same reason. Did you wipe off the excess oil or no need?
Great video, very clear and detailed! Thank you!
Thank ya
Wonder why installers don’t overlap the joist with material by 1” or so on the sides?
There is no need to tape the sides of the joists. In fact, the tape works better when it does not, as it serves as a drip edge to send water away from the joist sides. You might find that many tapes are far harder to install than is shown in the video, as the backing can be difficult to remove without it tearing.
Thank you, this is very helpful.
Me gusta como estas aciendo te doy 100😊
What happened to the blocking boards? Did you cut them out?
if you have a joist that’s not sitting on beam, do you force it down and attach clip or do you shim it and attach clip? thanks!
Thanks! Do you install one on each side of each joist at every joist beam junction or just one?
I understand the bracing and weight bearing of the new stick framed support and side braces, but I’m having a hard time seeing the lateral load bracing. If it were to want to go sideways where the ledger used to be, not sure what’s braced to stop it. Wouldn’t it just domino the stick framing and push the side bracing out of the way? I’m also not a builder, just trying to understand the forces at play here and what’s safest
What nailer are you using to nail hangers?
What about debris over the years as it will add Weight, and hinder drainage?
Wow im so glad to see your work. I have a small step from my deck that I want a curved step this makes sense. I think I can do it now!😊
Joist hangers???
Oh yeah that’s the next step
Wow, can't fix stupid. Must not have no inspectors in your area. You're a lucky guy.
Why shoot 4 nails? Secure with 1 then install your joist hanger, especially since its not code without it.
inexperienced framer
As an editor, I would highly recommend you use any wireless mic to improve the quality of your videos
😂 brother. okay number one, don't hold shit within the length of the nail you're shooting. they buck out the side when they hit a tight twist in the grain or knots. you'll end up learning that here or later. number 2. Simpson catalog is your friend. get some damn hangers dude. you know damn well that is the first area to rot, give it a fighting chance to last more than 10 years. Remember that your craftsmanship is represented in every nail and every cut. perfection brings pride. never cut corners no matter how simple or annoying the task is. It will just leave room for someone to talk shit
One good nail blowout. You'll be doing it different.
I would only put one nail in the middle then use Simpson strong ties.
Not smart. Don’t put the top one in so close to your hand. Do the bottom first. Move your hand away, then do the top.
He hasn’t experienced a good blow out yet.
Travis Kelce enjoying construction during the offseason
So you are using screws for shear strength?
Yes, thanks for watching
should also be palm nailing the other holes for the toe nails.
Big Z
I'm assuming you had to cut blocking for slope, I noticed it was left out
I would go about it slightly different. First nail closest to the pivot point. Second nail on the upper part closest to the pivot point. Now they're both set flush. And I don't have to do anymore aligning or worry about warpage
Could have hand nailed it faster and not risked injury from metal nail deflection
Gotta hole in your hose?
Closing your eyes does not stop nail blindness.
Palm nailer?
Thank you sir!, keep up the good work and stay safe out there!
Very practical and helpful. Good work!
I would have tried to clear the street first
Crane day
Like a boss
This guys done this before
Now let's focus on the yard work
Now that's a nice deck!
