  • Installing H2.5 clips is an essential step in framing a deck. These clips are used to attach the deck frame to the beam and provide a strong and secure connection. To begin the installation process, make sure that the beam and clip plate line are lined up properly. This will ensure that the clips are installed in the correct position and will provide maximum support for the deck.
The H2.5 clips are reversible, which means that they can be installed in either direction. This is a useful feature if you need to reverse the direction of the clip or make adjustments during the installation process. Before installing the clips, make sure that they are facing in the correct direction for your specific deck design.
Once you have positioned the clips correctly, it is important to fill all of the holes with nails or screws. This will ensure that the clips are securely fastened to the deck frame and will not come loose over time. Additionally, hammer in any nails that are not flush with the surface of the clip plate. This will prevent any protruding nails from interfering with the rest of the installation. ‪@strongtie‬

Thanks! Do you install one on each side of each joist at every joist beam junction or just one?

Correct, the clips are to prevent uplift, blocking is to stop the joist for racking (shear).
