    just got this. Trying to figure out what I would use it for. First thought is around the kitchen, like for veggies. Came very sharp indeed. I didn't dare take the knife apart now, so I added lube oil and after fidgeting for a while, now I can flick it open with a bit of wrist action.

    This knife was a disappointment to me. I impulsively bought it at Menards solely for the blade shape. Mine wouldn't open well and stuck open every time.

    Review was ohnest... But why would you take it apart when it comes with a lifetime warranty?????......I feel like it was a sucky decision ,to take a perfectly good knife apart...

    5:25 "If thars all you wanna do... to open a package or whatever, okay, sure, get it" Thats literally what this product is intended for. Obviously knife hobbyists arent the intended market here. Its an alternative to a decorative keyring. But it has *some* utility and, importantly, it doesnt *look* like other pocket knives (which is important in countries that where it is socially frowned upon to be seen to be carrying a knife)

    This knife IS classy, compared with at least 95% of Kershaw’s designs. I like this knife better than most Kershaw’s. I much prefer a refined design.

    I don’t like crazy designs. I like to de-emphasize knives’ violence potential. I don’t like to scare people, and I don’t like them calling the cops! So I like this knife just fine…

  • @yankee2yankee
    @yankee2yankee 2 месяца назад

    I am interested ONLY in unassisted knives, so I don’t usually look very hard at Kershaws. This one, however, being a Sinkevich design, is different. I’d prefer a standard clip design, and a better steel, but it’s a nice knife. I might even buy one!

    ...Aaand for those of us that actually use even our small knives and like them to stay sharp for long periods between sharpenings.... K390 is a high wear resistance steel. While it has decent toughness, it's definitely not the toughest steel option available by any means. For a true hard use knife I'd prefer Cruwear, which I have in several of my larger knives. But for edge retention, gimme K390 all day long.

    I have been searching for a small knife to put on my keychain. During my search, found that the Gerber Key Note knife was perfect for me. It looks like a car key fob with its key ring attachment. I also have the option to clip it onto a pocket. My only use for this small compact knife is for utility: box cutter, zip ties, loose strings or threads, etc.

    Thank you for your excellent review of this cool little knife! I have the SIG version with G10 scales and the SIG logo on both sides of the scales, and it’s a sweet little EDC! The only other difference between mine and yours is that the detente on mine seems a bit “stronger” or stiffer, as I can’t really flick the blade even close to the closed position, thus almost requiring 2 hands to close it. Other than that it’s a pretty solid knife.

    The reason it's named the Kalashnikov is because of how low cost it is. Made of cheaper materials and cost affective but still useable, just like the AK's of the gun world. The high tolerances (the wobble and stuff) mimics the AKs tolerances where if something were to get into the "action" it would still operate. As an AK guy these are actually really nice selling points to me.

    I hate to be that guy, but you could just buy a Benchmade Osborne 940, maybe put some fancier scales on it, put a 16° back bevel on it, and follow that with a 18° micro bevel and you've got one knife for every occasion. I know. I'm no fun.
