Hey, thanks, I really appreciate the feedback. I get a kick out of finding the right clips. I think it annoys some, but I like to have a little fun with the whole thing. Thanks again for your support!
Thanks for the detailed review, Brad. I am behind the times in the world of knife collecting: I carried the same low-quality knife every day for 12 years before realizing that there is an entire world of well-made folding knives to explore. Your review led me to order the original T1, which I'm excited to try. If that goes well, the micarta version may be in the cards, too. Just looking at images of the original, it's pretty obvious to me that many newer designs "were inspired by" the T1.
Hi Bruce, thanks for checking out the review. Lol, well the knife and EDC hobby has really exploded the last several years, there is so much out there at the moment. Sometimes we forget there are some really excellent designs still out there, that just aren't in the limelight anymore because of age. T1 was definitely an influencer. I'm excited to hear what you think of the original, it truly is one of my all time favs. Thanks again and circle back after you've had it in hand/pocket for a bit.
By the time I saw they had put this knife out, they were gone everywhere but Amazon. They won't send most folders to my address, despite the fact they are perfectly legal to carry here, so I had to order one and have it sent to a friend, who then will have to send it to me. Amazon sucks, but the T1 is my favorite Kizer of all time, so I had to have one of these new micarta version. The T1 is just a great knife.
I just bought one of these Ti versions a couple weeks ago on the secondary. I love it. Could you recommend another Ti knife like it? It’s a heftier feeling knife. I just bought the artisan cutlery Satyr and it’s a great looking knife but it just doesn’t feel as solid as the T1 and it was double the price
I had a T1 for a bit but the detent was so strong that I decided not to keep it. But I liked everything else about it maybe I’ll have to check this one out!
The detent sounds kinda clicky. I've seen a few people complain about it and experienced it myself on my Kizer PPY. The detent ball sits a bit too far in the detent hole and (at least on my PPY) the hole had a burr on the edge. It's fixable with a small round file, but imo, I shouldn't have to fix anything on a brand new knife. I think Kizer needs to work on this. Great knives otherwise.
I would agree it's a clicky sound, but not in a negative way in my opinion at least. I've disassembled mine and everything appeared to be in order, certainly no burr, etc. The detent is on the stronger side though, no question. Thanks for watching and commenting!
This is a good looking knife, although it does lose the subtle lines on the framelock. 154-CM (and CPM) really is one of my favorites - although one advantage is how well it takes a finish. But, for $80ish I can't complain about a coating. I sure don't miss those pinwheel pivots though. I had assumed this was a liner lock, but I see they did do some cost cutting measures. I'd have preferred a full liner lock and a bit more weight, but meh. Again, $80ish. No, didn't hear the toilet flush. BTW, I have framelock customs well into 4 figures that won't tolerate pressure on the lock bar - which really sucks as a southpaw. Nice!
Hey there my friend! Yeah I think you and I are on the same page with this one. I did also noticed the flat grind starts in a slightly lower spot than on the original (it's evident when you compare thumbstud placement), not sure it matters, but I should have mentioned it in the review. Regardless, I'm pretty happy with this one. Thanks for watching man!
Hahaha. Happy to have you here whatever the reason. You know it's, funny, my theme music file somehow got lost on my computer... not sure what happened. Hopefully the next vid will have that familiar mild mannered tone.
Hi David! Thanks for the kind words. My knife store of preference is White Mountain Knives. Fair prices, super fast shipping (usually free), and great customer service, in my experience anyways.
The detent on my copy was garbage, and Kizer’s customer service was nonexistent. This was my first experience with Kizer, and I’m left extremely frustrated and disappointed.
I'm sorry to hear this. I've generally only heard good things on this one. Have you reached out to Mojave Outdoors customer service? Here is the email Mojaveoutdoor@outlook.com
@@mildmannerededc Yes, thank you. Kizer never did respond. Mojave Outdoor however did reach out to me and made things right. My second copy of the micarta Vanguard T1 is an excellent knife and a joy to own.
I don't understand why they changed the grind of the blade. Just one small change, but it's changing the look of the blade from "classy" to cheap in my eyes.
Happy to see another Mild Mannered review! Love your style with the funny little clips edited in.

The Elf cut was HILARIOUS! Also the Civivi “blip” towards the end….I see you!! Haha. Perfect man, great run down
Ha! I wondered how many folks would notice that.
It's such a clean classy design. I like the color combo with the black and micarta. Great review 👍
Thanks Jeremy! Agreed! The micarta is particularly well done.
Glad to see another video up. Great review.
Thanks much! I'll try to get a few out a month, that seems like a good balance for me at the moment. Appreciate your support!
awesome video man good to see ya
Thanks Josh! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Heyyyyy brads back
Lol... you know me, I pull my head out of the sand every couple months and remember I have a RUclips channel. Thanks for watching my friend!

Amazon is one of only two places to officially buy this one.
@@Stahlwerk88 Amazon blows
I live in NY- same scenario-
Amazon is dead to me
Brad, great to see you post.
Thank you sir! Appreciate you hanging in there with the channel!
Hi Brad. I was missing you. I am a super big Kizer fan and cannot wait to get my hands on the new T1. Have a good weekend.
Hey my friend, thanks! Yeah this one is definitely worth picking up.
Haha, thanks for the great review, we have an Amazon store so some of our inventory is shipped from our Amazon store.
Great price, super fast shipping, hard to argue with any of that!! 👍🏻 Thanks for checking out the review.
@@mildmannerededc NP man, Great review! subscribed!
Great vid Brad. Just subbed.
Back at ya man!
I really like Kizer and just ordered this and I'm thinking it'll be a great EDC work knife.
Love your reviews! Just ordered this knife last night…excited to get it tomorrow..well timed review 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate the kind words Leonard! Thanks very much for the support. Let me know how you like this one!

I like Kizer Rat D1. You like Flash SOG? I have the newer blue. Kind of tough to open

It does have a detent on the stronger side amd everyone has their own sweet spot where detent is concerned. I struggle to spydie flick this one.

Great review of a great looking (and sounding) knife. Do you happen to have the discount code that you mentioned? Every little bit helps!!
Hey, thanks man! I used LUVTHEMKNV for the 10% off. Hope that helps. Appreciate you checking out the review.
Great video, but I miss the New Orleans jazz intro. I’ll admit that I sometimes watch your videos for the music…

I love mine! The detent is a little weak though
Oh, no, bummer! Mine is just right. Well I'm glad you like yours regardless. Thanks for checking out the vid Nick.

154cm was a top tier stainless blade steel until powdered steels came out.
