The council's solution is always demolition as so much money to be made from dodgy contracts from the demolition rebuild process. Far better to sell off to local people in need for say £1 and offer a refurb grant on proviso that they must be used as a family home for a certain period before being sold.

The only snooker hall that was near was further down near the McDonalds/Tesco. About a five minute walk from Church Street. Burnt down around 10 years ago. There is a club, the corporation club, that had a snooker table just off church street in whitby street.

Should have come into Rosie’s on the marina I was there yesterday would have got you a pint and talked Sunderland footy to you lol. The Marina is bouncing on a weekend. Church street has had millions poured into it over the years to try and revive it.

Terry, you’d have been better off doing the roundabout at the junction of Stockton Road and Hallgarth Street. Not nearly as busy and more cover 👍

I feel sick to the stomach watching that, not because the place isn't lovely, but because we booked that hotel and #loveholidays switched our hotel, just before we left. We ended up miles from barbati and in a, vile, dirty, run down, soulless place. Beds so hard, you may as well been sleeping on the floor. Utterly ruined what was meant to be an amazing first holiday away together. I'm pleased you really enjoyed your holiday, it looks lovely there.
