(Fun fact) . That stag down the marina is called a heart and the town is near the sea (the pool). That's Why They Call It Hartlepool Old Hartlepool, which is now called the Headland, amalgamated with West Hartlepool back in 1967 🏴
What you thought was the snooker hall initially used to be Electra House ..very significant building for decades ... Electric and gas appliances ... Everyone paid their bills there .... my GPa was the manager in the early 1960s ..
Nice one! ... The place is so run down but so clean. And some of those buildings are gorgeous :D ... No Fish & Chips review this time? ... Nice to see you both at it again!
Great video lads, local places I visit regularly always look more cheerful and bright through a camera. Cheers 🙂👍 The blue structure with wheels is the mobile crane to lift boats in and out of the water.
The top of Church Street, which is called church square, used to be a roundabout back in the 80s and became pedestrianised in 1992 when they built the marina They used to be another train station. (Heart station), which was off Ocean Road, the top of King Oswy drive that station closed in the 60s before my time lol 🏴
The big old hotel at the bottom left of Church Street is now flats. Mate of mine had one 15 years ago. 👍. Glad you found the snooker hall Terry 👍. I didn’t even know about that.
Just don’t go to Duke Street 😂. 15 years ago it was grim The Cod Fry chippy. Church street we used to go there drinking early 2000’s it was canny. Good to see Keano back. Lovely Spencer Davis Group intro 👍🙌🏻
Should have come into Rosie’s on the marina I was there yesterday would have got you a pint and talked Sunderland footy to you lol. The Marina is bouncing on a weekend. Church street has had millions poured into it over the years to try and revive it.
Hartlepool, where they hanged the monkey, visited the marina a few times , good museum. Worked in Hartlepool 1960’s, Richardson and Westgarths Engineering, Steam Turbine manufactures. Expat Geordie Canada.
The only snooker hall that was near was further down near the McDonalds/Tesco. About a five minute walk from Church Street. Burnt down around 10 years ago. There is a club, the corporation club, that had a snooker table just off church street in whitby street.
Is the ice rink still open? They used to cover the ice with a wooden floor have other things on. Bsck in the 70s and early 89s I remember the Jehovahs Witnesses used to hire it.
