10:39 think the pub was called coasters family pub? think it closed around 2009... we nipped down seaton canoe (see what i did there..) in the summer - was busy on the main drag (sunny day too, but breezy) and sat inside fish face and had fish and chips and a few cans of shandy...nice..!
Thanks so much fellas ... you lads have transported me back to my roots ... never forgotten born and bred in Pools ❤.. but unfortunately I've noticed in our ancient lands that Pools is not an exception whether from from Cornwall to Co.Durham including Hartlepool .... ( I was there when Seaton Carew, Church and Lynn Street where bustling in the 50, 60's when a skilled workforce was still evident in the ship yards and steel works etc etc. I've been noticing some of the hotels (like the posh one you looked at in Church Street that are no longer being used, are being reassigned by the local councils incl Hartlepool I see from the H'pool Mail ... for example the one in Church Street .. that looked so good even open as you imagined ) that plans have been applied for to modify its use for 'students' ... noUni in H'pool ....so I expect it might be for. 'English Language' students per chance? 🤔🤫 well I never .. Larne yer-sel' Georgie would be a better language subject to have up your sleeve in the North East ... listening to you two and your lovely dulcet tones 😜. ... oh yes your ref to 'Free the Sausages ...' .. I cant even afford a sausage' these days ...as we used to say in Pools when r was a lad .... keep trucking lads!
Wow what a shock 😢 .. The Staincliff Hotel you looked at used to be so lovely.. my mum and dad had their wedding reception their in the early 1950s .. how sad to see the demise of the iconic places I remember so well as a child
You had the right building for Darwin's house. Number 3 The Cliff. You two are on form from the off in this one, Terry. Never ending comedy at it's best.
So I watched this clip today feeling a tad fluffy from a canny sesh last night and them plates had me salivating. So subsequently marra I was a craving a carvery - so treated the Mrs to a Toby down Wolviston at tea time. I loaded up, drunded it with a ton of gravy, (could've done with greedy boards on me plate like tbh) then absolutely smashed it in, fluffyness now replaced with normalness. Cheers lads and digging the content marra 👍
My wife and I visited Seaton Carew several years ago, had fish and chips in a seaside restaurant on the promenade , all the best from Canada, expat Geordie.
Also if your interested the film is called, The Thief, His wife and the Canoe, After being released from Prison John was living in a house along Office street Easington, bit of useless information for ya lol
Surprised it’s gone (not that I’ve been there in years). A mate got married there a good few years ago on a lovely sunny day. Really nice. I’m sure it will have new owners in the future.
Haven't been there since we were kid's it seems there loads of seaside resorts been dragged down pure shame but theese vids are pure class maybe should carry bag of pampers terry for keano
Acland Homes has confirmed the Staincliffe Hotel in Seaton Carew, Hartlepool has closed after its previous tenant left following difficulties surrounding “insufficient business,” as well as large gas and electric bills. They said the gas bill for the quarter was around £14,000. Acland Homes announced they had completed the purchase of the hotel in July last year(23). The Staincliffe Hotel was built in 1869 as a home for wealthy West Hartlepool merchant Thomas Walker and was converted into a hotel in the 1920s. Purchased by a developer last year ahead of plans to transform the building into apartments.
I got married there, the end bit where the brush and shovel were, was like a chapel inside. To the right is where John Darwen was hiding away. My friends arrived late, they said there was a mysterious man, later on it turned out to be him.
Lol another great video mate, Seaton canoe another town left to rack and ruin. I was only talking to Keno the other day, he knows my political views lol and what needs to be done. And it's all down to we the people
