Thanks for the comments and the feedback! Really enjoyed your visit - we have taken your feedback on board about the roasties and will feedback to our Carvery chefs and kitchen manager. I’m the girl from South Shields and have subscribed as promised :) we have been here since March 2014 before hand to my knowledge it was just land! Hope to see you both again soon, maybe try a cake and cuppa! 😋
Absolutley loving watching you both what canny lads you are. I’m from Easington born and bred and loved seeing our lovely colliery and village on your channel. Look forward to watching more. Xxxx
Am not one for any slavva but every time a watch you n keano yous reminds me of my my friendship with a lad I knew all me life until he died last February,so cherish yr time together. Great show .
Great video again lads I'll have to give it a try, never knew it was there until now, tried a few of the others you've had on the few weeks, keep them coming.
Nice carvery, often pop in with my sister and her hubby after home matches. Staff are always lovely. Not many folks know it's there with it being on the Nissan goods back entrance, not many drive by it other than Nissan workers. The land was previously farm land farmed by Low or middle Barmston farm I think. Then in the late 60's or early 70's the A1231 road was built cutting parts of Washington in half including that farm land. They were building Washington 'New Town' of course. The main Nissan goods road running past the carvery (Wearside Farm) was a train line(NER, Pontop and South Shields Branch). That section of track ran from Washington station/Washington chemical works heading northeast along the now Nissan goods entrance past what used to be Sunderland Airport then onto Boldon and South Shields carrying coal. Heading the other way it would carry Iron ore to Consett steel works. All gone now of course with the Washington to Consett section of the line now part of the Sustrans coast-to-coast cycle route. Ironic Washington is one of the biggest towns by populous, (67k), in the country that doesn't have a train station anymore.
Lived in Washington since '77 and felt like Sunderland has never accepted it when it was taken over from County Durham. Nice part of Sunderland though. 😊
@@twelfth7211 1975 for me. I think Washington has it own identity and being equal distance between two cities a 50/50 mix of allegiances. I've never felt rejected by Sunderland though but maybe the changing of the county Durham border left some marks. Thankfully we weren't swallowed up by the 'other' city. 😂
@@DHall-xz7ke Totally, I love that Washington has its own identity. I only found out how big it's grown and it's funny how different our accent is to it's neighbours.
It has been a long-ass time since I was up Penshaw way. Used to work at the open cast mine just across the road back in the ... um, probably 2000s' ... Nice to see it again :D ... Thanks for another video lads :D
Agree definitely worth a visit the foods amazing there and very reasonable keano still shifted a fare amount for having just ate couple hours before class as always lads
Teal Farm the Carvery is at isnt it so i presume it used to be all fields (in answer to ur question). I know theres the old railway line and the Wildfowl park nearby too
I've been with family a couple of times. Only gripes are the roasties and yorkshies overdone and should be unlimited yorkshies. Definitely worth going, service is mint.
I remember going here in about 2016. Seen Keano and Jonathan Timbley in the corner deep in conversation. As far as I'm aware, Keano knocked the sausage on the head in around 93 but they were playing footsie under the table and Keano fed JT a chunk of meat from his fork. Make of that what you will
we have one of these in Gateshead (valley farm) im a big lad and i just order the kids dinners "online" for around 7 quid . i have 2 or 3 a week now lol
I worked across the road and watch it getting built so it’s been there a few years now and it was waste land as I remember ,,think Keano needed gravy on his plate ha
