I still walk the same walks as I did with my dog between 1997 and 2013. its like he is still walking and bounding along with me. I think or know a time comes or did for me, when I started to enjoy the same walks again, it took a year or two. I am just thankful for the years w shared those long walks along the rivers, round lakes in spinneys .. Enjoy your walks , Exmoor is nice this time of year. 😉

Hey Tori, again well done for producing something so raw yet beautiful. Incidentally you walked past an area around about the two minute mark in your video that kind of looks like there's been a fire in the not too distant past is that the case? You mentioned in the video that although you know intellectually the way you should be thinking about things that doesn't always make you feel better. I couldn't agree mor yet I have continued even years after difficult loss events to try to understand what's going on in the brain when this happens. It seems the hippocampus the amygdala have a close relationship and the hippocampus is essential in processing emotional memories and therefore attachment. But it's proximatry to the amygdala that deals with our anxiety and fears is perhaps why when you have such a strong emotion towards Miss Nancy and going to a place that held such fondness for the both of you, it's no wonder there was a lot of fear associated for you going back to this place. But by doing so and making that important realisation that the fear was worse than the actual experience you are helping to reincode the amygdala to take some of the anxiety out of what is a really painful experience. Interestingly the hippocampus is also very important for navigation so don't beat yourself up about getting lost given what you're going through your hippocampus is in overdrive so you can be forgiven for getting a lost once in a while. Well that's enough of the science stuff, having lost beloved pets has definitely gave me a much greater fear of any type of attachment. When you're very young your blessed with naivety and throw yourself into experiences with full force. But that becomes so much more difficult to do with age. I have avoided attachments directly but needing the comfort of being around animals is why I have so many friends with pets and obviously volunteer at an animal shelter. I suppose I'm trying to have my 'cake and eat it' by experiencing that wonderful connection but without the loss at the end of it. To be honest I think I do that now with human relationships tending to have friends versus anything else because although you love friends very dearly there is a natural distance implied I suppose. Anyway this was all rather deep and philosophical. So as you can see Tori your videos make us all think and hopefully we will leave this world a better place than we found it. ❤

I first discovered your videos a few months ago. The first one I watched looked like it was you and Miss Nancy on Gwynver Beach, just along from Sennen Cove, having walked down the cliff path from Trevedra Farm camping and caravan site. I have quite a few very happy memories from a long time ago associated with that place, so watching your video made me happy all over again: thank you 🙂 Anyway, just to say I feel for your loss: it looks like you may have spent a lot of time alone with Miss Nancy and now she has gone I can well imagine how that could be really difficult. I like my own company but there can be down sides to it, and because of circumstances at least partly out of my control I don't currently have much of a social life and so when on long holidays in the summer (I'm a teacher) I sometimes struggle with feeling isolated. In addition, my 17-year-old son lives with his mum and for the past couple of years he has become more independent and so the central person in my life for 17 years now isn't! It's not like we have fallen out, but I don't see him anything like as much and I have had to go through quite a long period of adjustment on my own, without anyone really to talk to about it - almost a kind of bereavement, and at times it has been quite isolating and lonely. All this really to say I love your videos, and I feel for your loss and see some possible parallels in my life. What I try to do is keep going, and try and ensure my daily life continues to have meaning and purpose, with a routine and things I want to do and achieve - not necessarily big things but things I value and enjoy, nonetheless. I don't succeed in this endeavour all the time but after a bad day I have good days as well, and it has got easier. Please keep making your videos: keep doing you!

People do not realize they are very good apartment dogs. My dog looks exactly like the one on here.. mine sleeps with her eyes open and she does not like to run ! My previous greyhound ran around my trampoline and bsically had a track that was lower than the grass.

Losing Alfie is something I will never get over now I don’t even try to I just think of him still being here, but it is within us to carry on even with the heavy burden of grief I will never be as happy again but we have to carry on for everyone else and for our other dog Coco who is getting used to being the only child
