Just a little tip, if you sheltered the stove by using the rocks you had next to you then you’d save on gas a won’t loose as much heat and gain on heating time👍

@Neilhuny I definitely support that, I’m not saying I never eat a processed for but I think cooking from fresh vegetables and ingredients is the most important thing for physical and mental health and I try do do it all the time 🙂
Hi Tori, I find the Cornish coastline so beautiful, you have inspired me I must visit there. After holidaying in countries with spiders as big as my hand, chaotic airports, dodgy food and pestering locals. The West Country looks freeing and stress free. I'm done with abroad. Thank you for opening my eyes 😊
I am so glad! It’s definitely more relaxing travelling here than internationally 😂 and I have not seen a spider anywhere near that big! Barely a local to be seen in winter either, I hope you like it windy though if you come all the way west 💕
I live in Snowdonia and wild camp all the time, for proper wild camping one thing you'll find is a jetboil is a just a bit heavy and bulky, my preference is a Soto Windmaster and just a 400ml titanium mug with a lid, the thing about most camp meals is they tend to be very high in calories and when you're wild camping in the mountains and walking all day for 2 days or more you find you need a lot more calories than normal, so the dehydrated camp meals are just very convenient, and some are actually quite tasty these days. Also I find cooking in one pot, especially with lots of spices, flavourful oils etc. you'll end up having cups of tea/coffee etc. which taste like the last meal you cooked, so the camp meals you can just leave to cook in their own bag in a thermal sleeve to retain the heat. If you're looking at getting into wild camping though you just learn a little more of what works for you every time you do it, also a check list is a necessity as forgetting one vital component can make a trip very miserable! Your meal looked lovely though and I love your dog.
Snowdonia is beautiful you’re lucky. Yeah I guess what seems small and light when your out for a couple of hrs becomes bigger and heavier when you have big pack and are walking for days! Oh god I can tally see that happening with the pot getting flavoured, not really what I’d like in my cup of tea. If I use it a lot I’d better have separate one for drinks only. That does sound convenient with the meal in there bag. I look forward to trying it all anyway! I’m definitely going to try and keep in short and simple when we wild camp for the first time, im none to sure what Miss Nancy will think 🤔 thank you! ❤️
I've had that exact stove for a year or two, bought in one of their sales for about £30, use mine for bikepacking and its been good with no leaks or problems. I only use mine for boiling water as its very fierce flame! The Sea looked amazing! Can't wait to get back down shortly.
Good to see both Miss Nancy and you out and about. I was beginning to think you were making her work for you without a break,no day off for some time. However your explanation of her being poorly explains everything. Hope she makes a quick and complete recovery,so the two of you can get back out there and share your adventures with your avid followers.
Well she does complain she is overworked and underpaid, especially as she is supposed to be retired! Thank you me too 🤞 she has had to take it pretty easy but I think she is on the mend.
Tiz a lovely walk to the end of the land....I have the same stove and its just as good as a jetboil, always good to find a bit of shelter 👍🏻.....that sea looked amazing, what a swell 🌊🌊...hope Miss Nancy is well on the way to feeling better 😀

Another charming video Tori.🙏 I always find it calming when pets have a healthy appetite. They do seem to go off their food when they don't feel well so it's a good barometer for health. I'm sure miss Nancy will be fighting fit in no time.🤞 It's an interesting stove you have seems to boil water quickly. I have a stove about the same size and it has a fan in the bottom to draw air in has the fuel source is anything you can find from twigs, bits of wood you can break up, charcoal etc. The idea being when you are on longer treks it saves you having to bring fuel with you. I love the soup you made. I made a few notes of the ingredients. Perhaps this is another thing you might try, videos showing some of your plants centered meal creations that you particularly enjoy. Miss Nancy was brilliant with the pigs and the ponies. Normally ponies can be skittish around dogs but they see Miss Nancy has such a calm demeaner even when she is a little spooked 😍

@@missnancysdayoff My stove is called 'Sierra Zip fan-assisted wood stove'. There is a particular good write-up and set of photos about the stove on Classic camping stoves website. There is a link there also to the manufacturer as these stoves are still being made. It's by no means the only wood burning portable camping stove but I like the design of this one that incorporates fan assistance to drive air into the combustion chamber therefore it allows for higher temperatures and more complete burning. Well you come across great in your videos so hopefully you're not feel too nervous to try different things including cooking. You have a very nice timbre to your voice which is great for tutorials. 🤣 ' is it possible they think she is a foal?!' That's an adorable idea. 💕
@Melatiah sounds good! Well I like trying new things and it’s the only way to get used to it even if it’s uncomfortable at first. I’m glad you think that I hate the sounds of my own voice, but I’ve grown somewhat used to it after this many videos! My little pony 🥰

I think it's courageous to put yourself out there particularly given you do videos that are very authentic. I don't think it's something I could ever do. The nearest I got to doing anything like this was PR videos for organisations where they just wanted someone to talk about their experiences. I don't think people appreciate the amount of time behind the scenes that goes into running a RUclips channel. Editing the videos, writing descriptions, thumbnails, comments and all that stuff. It's a labour of love that you do very well. Naturally you've got a brilliant director in Nancy! 😉

Seeing the waves crashing and the gorgeous coastline... nothing better 😁🥰. The stove looked very useful.. something I might like to invest in.. I'm new to your channel, I have family in St Just but it's a 12 hour drive from where I live, so I recognise many of the places where visit. I've walked from Sennen to Land's End many times but I've never met ponies before. Or someone making noodles either!

lol " slightly incompetent" 🤣 Watch out they recalled these (I have one) couple years back. Couldn't figure out why and I never sent mine back. I discarded the "keep warm" jacket and the plastic wind gaurd ( as it started to melt !!!) but been fine since then. You can get a fab adapter for it to take the much cheaper long cans of gas which help to keep stable ! Churs !

How are you finding living in Cornwall after settling in there recently? :) We're in the south east at the moment but my partner is originally from Cornwall so we keep thinking of moving but I'm scared to make the leap. Well I am enjoying it definitely, I am from the south east too. It does take some getting used to that a great many things are shut most of the year, and you can’t get most of your regular shops 🤣 I think if what you enjoy is a quiet life and being outdoors a lot in a beautiful wild landscape it’s an absolutely dreamy place to be! If you prefer things a little more lively and want to eat in a different restaurant every night it’s maybe not so great. I love how few people there are here compared to Hampshire, but I still miss many things about it. Forest for one!
You did really well with your stove. The only other thing needed is a folding wind shield, I loved the noodle soup I will be trying that myself (if that's ok). I'm in the market for one as I've lost my 20yo Primus Micron. Have you seen Beca / @muddy_bootlaces cooking her Korean concoctions outdoors ? 😊 When you're backpacking, anything tastes good! But I think there's a lot of good dehydrated tasting meals out there - perhaps try some Tentmeals or army surplus ration packs ...if you're interested. Good move getting her away from the ponies kicky end - dragging her off is absolutely appropriate 👍 How have you coped with the storms ? One I'll accept, but after that I hated them.
Hey! I think Miss Nancys is starting to feel better, we have to go back vets again though so we will see. I’ve not seen muddy bootlaces but I will look her up that sounds extremely tasty! 🤣 yes I am sure your right, I would definitely try that stuff anyway for fun’s it just looks like something you’d give an astronaught. As I say though I haven’t actually been on a tent backpacking trip so my expectations are probably too high! 🙏 I don’t like dragging her but sometimes tome is of the essence, they really did seem to like her though! Well I am not sure… I find it very appealing, weather, it’s so alive, and it hasn’t felt like it’s rained all that much. I like standing on the cliffs and being battered by the wind. But Miss Nancy doesn’t like walking in it and it’s hard to film so it can be a bit boring 🤣 We went inland the other day and I found myself somewhere so incredibly quiet, I finally realised how noisy the wind and the sea is! And it was an absolute tonic, the silence.

I live in Snowdonia and wild camp all the time, for proper wild camping one thing you'll find is a jetboil is a just a bit heavy and bulky, my preference is a Soto Windmaster and just a 400ml titanium mug with a lid, the thing about most camp meals is they tend to be very high in calories and when you're wild camping in the mountains and walking all day for 2 days or more you find you need a lot more calories than normal, so the dehydrated camp meals are just very convenient, and some are actually quite tasty these days. Also I find cooking in one pot, especially with lots of spices, flavourful oils etc. you'll end up having cups of tea/coffee etc. which taste like the last meal you cooked, so the camp meals you can just leave to cook in their own bag in a thermal sleeve to retain the heat. If you're looking at getting into wild camping though you just learn a little more of what works for you every time you do it, also a check list is a necessity as forgetting one vital component can make a trip very miserable! Your meal looked lovely though and I love your dog.
Snowdonia is beautiful you’re lucky. Yeah I guess what seems small and light when your out for a couple of hrs becomes bigger and heavier when you have big pack and are walking for days! Oh god I can tally see that happening with the pot getting flavoured, not really what I’d like in my cup of tea. If I use it a lot I’d better have separate one for drinks only. That does sound convenient with the meal in there bag. I look forward to trying it all anyway! I’m definitely going to try and keep in short and simple when we wild camp for the first time, im none to sure what Miss Nancy will think 🤔 thank you! ❤️

I've had that exact stove for a year or two, bought in one of their sales for about £30, use mine for bikepacking and its been good with no leaks or problems. I only use mine for boiling water as its very fierce flame!

It's an interesting stove you have seems to boil water quickly. I have a stove about the same size and it has a fan in the bottom to draw air in has the fuel source is anything you can find from twigs, bits of wood you can break up, charcoal etc. The idea being when you are on longer treks it saves you having to bring fuel with you.
I love the soup you made. I made a few notes of the ingredients. Perhaps this is another thing you might try, videos showing some of your plants centered meal creations that you particularly enjoy.
Miss Nancy was brilliant with the pigs and the ponies. Normally ponies can be skittish around dogs but they see Miss Nancy has such a calm demeaner even when she is a little spooked 😍

@@missnancysdayoff My stove is called 'Sierra Zip fan-assisted wood stove'. There is a particular good write-up and set of photos about the stove on Classic camping stoves website. There is a link there also to the manufacturer as these stoves are still being made. It's by no means the only wood burning portable camping stove but I like the design of this one that incorporates fan assistance to drive air into the combustion chamber therefore it allows for higher temperatures and more complete burning.
Well you come across great in your videos so hopefully you're not feel too nervous to try different things including cooking. You have a very nice timbre to your voice which is great for tutorials.

I think it's courageous to put yourself out there particularly given you do videos that are very authentic. I don't think it's something I could ever do. The nearest I got to doing anything like this was PR videos for organisations where they just wanted someone to talk about their experiences. I don't think people appreciate the amount of time behind the scenes that goes into running a RUclips channel. Editing the videos, writing descriptions, thumbnails, comments and all that stuff. It's a labour of love that you do very well. Naturally you've got a brilliant director in Nancy! 😉

I'm new to your channel, I have family in St Just but it's a 12 hour drive from where I live, so I recognise many of the places where visit. I've walked from Sennen to Land's End many times but I've never met ponies before. Or someone making noodles either!

Watch out they recalled these (I have one) couple years back. Couldn't figure out why and I never sent mine back. I discarded the "keep warm" jacket and the plastic wind gaurd ( as it started to melt !!!) but been fine since then. You can get a fab adapter for it to take the much cheaper long cans of gas which help to keep stable ! Churs !

How are you finding living in Cornwall after settling in there recently? :) We're in the south east at the moment but my partner is originally from Cornwall so we keep thinking of moving but I'm scared to make the leap. Your vids are definitely slowly convincing me though, the nature is so stunning!
Well I am enjoying it definitely, I am from the south east too. It does take some getting used to that a great many things are shut most of the year, and you can’t get most of your regular shops 🤣 I think if what you enjoy is a quiet life and being outdoors a lot in a beautiful wild landscape it’s an absolutely dreamy place to be! If you prefer things a little more lively and want to eat in a different restaurant every night it’s maybe not so great. I love how few people there are here compared to Hampshire, but I still miss many things about it. Forest for one!

When you're backpacking, anything tastes good! But I think there's a lot of good dehydrated tasting meals out there - perhaps try some Tentmeals or army surplus ration packs ...if you're interested.

Hey! I think Miss Nancys is starting to feel better, we have to go back vets again though so we will see. I’ve not seen muddy bootlaces but I will look her up that sounds extremely tasty! 🤣 yes I am sure your right, I would definitely try that stuff anyway for fun’s it just looks like something you’d give an astronaught. As I say though I haven’t actually been on a tent backpacking trip so my expectations are probably too high!

Well I am not sure… I find it very appealing, weather, it’s so alive, and it hasn’t felt like it’s rained all that much. I like standing on the cliffs and being battered by the wind. But Miss Nancy doesn’t like walking in it and it’s hard to film so it can be a bit boring 🤣 We went inland the other day and I found myself somewhere so incredibly quiet, I finally realised how noisy the wind and the sea is! And it was an absolute tonic, the silence.
