The photographs of the night sky were stunning.
Thanks Shirley 🙏
I went there years ago and none of those buildings, shops, phone boxes etc were there. It's sad that places like this are commercialized to make money. Your photos are amazing! 💕
Yeah it is a bit of a disappointment that the place has been taken over for commercial gain.
"Strictly no parking between midnight and 04.00am" 😭2:37
Must have been a long time ago, they were there when I lived that way in 2001. TBH, I don't think it's a bad thing, Lands End is not very picturesque and without the attractions there's really not much to do apart from a photo op by the sign. Better that the local economy is supported rather than just blighted by heavy traffic in the summer months...
@@tuvaaq It certainly was a long time ago, about 1980/81 I think, lol.
Sounds about right, I think the family owners sold the land in '82 to a millionaire for about £3 mill who then flipped it a few years later to another property developer for £7 million. Now it's owned by a company that also owns John O Groats and runs the Snowdon Mountain railway & cafe.
Wow great video Stephen, wow you can box of tea bags for a price of that cup if tea , looke very spooky , fantastic pics 😊 x
That is true Julie x
Excellent video and excellent photo great work Stephen it bu scary at nigth time I can't wait for next video Stephen I hope you and your family and friends are well and safe
Once the area was bought out the whole area changed. There used to be a nice pup with live music, and it was free parking. Once they changed everything they added attractions and charged a small fortune to go in. You had no choice as they didn’t separate the price for those who just wanted to park and walk around. So many cars did what we did and just told them to stuff it and turned around and left.
They soon separated the charge for parking from the attractions. But now they charge a lot for the attractions and have bumped up the parking charge beyond reasonable. Greed is out of control.
My wife and I are going to be in Cornwall in September, staying in Mullion. We usually pop in to Lands End, but at those prices we will probably give it a miss. I will be taking my telescope to get some great views of the planets at night.
Thank you for the video.
Mullion is a nice little place. I remember seeing the Milky Way galactic core from there in August 2014, that was 5 years after I started stargazing properly.
Its changed since 1986 when I went. What an amazing picture of the night sky and the milky way! 😮 incredible! xx
Thanks Christine.
"Blo*dy hell, cup.of tea, £2.95!" 😂😂😂😂. Cant stop laughing at that!
Great vlog, Stephen😊
Lol, glad you enjoyed it Sheila
£3 for a bottle of coke!!!!
Nice video, changed a lot since I visited 40yrs ago.
Wow!
Thank you.
Great video Stephen well done. Going there in the dark nobody else about, I would be scared there all by myself. Your photos of the night sky are fantastic. It’s a very expensive place. But interesting. I’ve never been there come from the near from Blackpool. You have been all over the country, take care of yourself and stay safe.see you in your next video ❤️👍❤️
Thanks Mildred 👍
What a great vlogg 🎉
Weve been to Lands End and parked just up the road about half a mile back for free
The Minack open air theatre is a must to visit Stephen , its not that far from Land End x
We also park there each time we go. It's Trevescan just off the A30 as you say about half a mile back. 10 minutes walk to Lands End.
Stephen...Long way from Blackpool and from Merseyside for me...Only you could make a video from Lands End in the dark !!... Entertaining...informative...and as usual.... laugh out loud funny ...Stephen you are a Star.. heartfelt thanks for your efforts.....makes my day often...what an antidote to sad news on the tele...keep it up...cheers from another happy and appreciative follower...Kev
Thanks Kev.
I really enjoyed this video Stephen. Somewhere I've never been, but would love to go. I adore sitting out at night in the dark, just looking up at the night sky. I'd say you captured it perfectly x
The night starry sky photo is worthy of a place in your calendar it’s breathtaking. £2.95 for a cup of tea yer ‘aving a laugh!
Thanks David.
Must have been amazing Stephen I only hope one day I get to see that 💘
Park up at St Erth park and ride, get the bus to Land's End via St Ives. Amazing scenery, and it costs £5 return. Utter mad to park at Land's End.
Far safer there than a Saturday night down Central Drive 😕
Defo
Great idea, sir! It certainly was spooky.
The night sky photos were excellent.
Thanks Roy.
Catching up with vids .but i really enjoyed this the night sky absolutely beautiful lovly place down ther but i agree quite pricey
Thanks Barbara 👍
That's one hell of a journey mate
Can't remember any of that there in 1992 when we were last there a car park and a ice cream van and a information shop is what I remember it's all commercialised now
Amazing place Amazing video mate. Been there twice once as a kid back in 80s and was totally different and there was no charging 4 car parking r 2 av ur picture taken. And bout 5 years ago have 2 say look stunning at nite❤👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed
Very interesting. Loved rhe photos. Spectacular.🎉 Yes, prices are steep but i guess its seasonal and much quieter in winter. Maybe? .😊 Maybe rhe New York sign is because they are New York prices.
with you on the price of stuff there... a far cry from the times you could get a tea for 5p and coffee for 10p in Blackpool. 🤣
damn, those pics of Lands End look stunning!! 😮
Thanks.
Crikey - I thought it was an expensive tourist trap when I last visited in 2005, but it seems to have gone up a lot since then !
Loved it Steven . Great Video and Pictures .. From tommy Yorkshire
😊👍✨✨✨✨✨
Glad you enjoyed it Tommy
Love that you did this video Stephen. I went on hol last year to Sennen which is 10 minute stroll along the cliff past that 1st Last house. Theres a rusting ship wreck to see half way between. We stay at the holiday cottages right at the top on the lands end path called Longships watch.
Lands end comes alive in the evening during july and August twice a week with live music and epic fireworks display with soundshow played out over loudspeakers saying the ztory of the giants that formed cornwall and st Michaels mount. Its amazing and the crowds gather on the cliff there watching it.
Sennen is amazing for body boarding. Hope you hD. Look there on your travels.
It was so good were going again this Aug.
I did many walks across the those cliffs past that 1st last house in the dark to the bar in the hotel which was our nearest one.
Sennen is a lovely little place. I visited it for the first time on my trip.
Absolutely brilliant Steve especially the pics of the night sky there’re a credit to you. I could never take pictures like that.
Thanks Bryan. Night sky photography is my speciality.
Fantastic Video thank you.
You are welcome!
Brilliant video
Well Stephen what a totally awesome vid, loved it. So informative creative educational and lots scenes. Looks lovely but. What one brave guy you are ! All credit goes to you, venturing in the dark, with no one there but you ! Looked spooky in strange sort of way. The last house in England looked full of character, bet it’s haunted tho ! Lol. I’ve never been there but always wanted to doubt I will honestly ever go. But looks well worth the experience. Photo of night sky incredible. Once again thanks for a superb tuning in to your channel. Love Di xx
Thanks Diane.
Fantastic video again Stephen love the photographs at the end. I’d love one of those on my wall
Thanks Bradley. My existing images are available here. Keep an eye on the site for when I upload the images from this trip stephencheatleyphotography.co.uk/store
Really good Steven it's very quaint lovely scenery
Wow thanks again for a fabulous video. I've never been down that end of the country. Such a shame that they have commercialised it.
love to go there great video
I went there years ago before it was privately owned. Parts of you video were quite spooky. At the end of the day there is more to do in Blackpool.
How Lands end has changed from when i was there you never had to pay to take a photo of the sign for one thing i still have my photograph and the first and last house, and as far as i can remember there was no charge for parking your car, it has got very commercialised now it is a beautiful place however no chance i will ever go back though it is a long drive to get there certainly from Blackpool.....i love the photo's which you took .
Fun, spooky video Stephen.
It was lucky for you there weren’t any security people or worse, security dogs!
Yes it was!
Loved it biker bit different when I was there Milky way spot on
Thanks Geoff. Pity about that bright light from the building.
A great video, Stephen.Well done.
Thanks.
Hi stephen very expensive down there at lands end interesting place though
Take care Stephen❤
Awesome as always 👽
Pelosi AYE SCREAM 🎶 🦓 🔨’s…
Great video Stephen we went in the seventies just a sign for a free photo nr the sign. Your night photos were fantastic, you know how to use a camera, thank you ,
Thanks pal 👍
Great vid Stephen, had a paid picture at the old sign in 2001 walking the SW Coastal Path, sent home to Blackpool but my family lost it. The smudges pack the wooden sign away after close of business and stick out the simpler metal one.
Wow your do brave going there in the dark it gave me the creeps just watching you absolutely loved it 😂😅😂
Glad you enjoyed!
Excellent photography as always Stephen. Thank you for the after midnight tour.
Hi Steve, fantastic video I am Cornish and used to live very near there,,I went back last November with a cople of friends, and we had fish and chips in that hotel, they was excellent and not over priced,,, really enjoyed this video,,
Glad you enjoyed it Stephen
Well done Stephen another great vlog
Thanks George.
My advice for the other end is to avoid the tacky tatty tourist trap of John O Groats and go to the northernmost point at Dunnet Head. I suspect that the same advice may apply here.
Never been there myself Steve, but your video makes me want to go. Maybe one day. The quality of the video was fantastic and the milky way really stood out. Now waiting to find out where you'll next. Take care and carry on regardless 😁
I've got a tip. Park at nearby Sennen Cove & walk over. It'll be a nice walk and the car park much cheaper.
another brill sat of photos
Great watch Stephen you're very brave, glad you stayed safe 😮
Good evening Hazel i hope you and your family are well it's been a beautiful day here today
@@georgesmellie8717evening George, all ok thanks, hope you are too,its been a gorgeous day but so very hot and humid, still very warm 25deg, probably not sleep tonight hey ho.
Had a bit of upset, 😢,my dear special friend passed away Sunday, she was my rock when I lost my mum 36 years ago,I called her mudder, always there for each other, loved her to bits, very sudden and a big shock. Another church member passed Wednesday evening, been very upsetting week but getting there, take care stay cool x🙏
@@hazelmanship7516 So sorry to hear about your loss it's never nice at anytime but your special friend will know what she meant to you
@@georgesmellie8717 thanks George, she certainly knew, x
Hi Hazel, I have had lots of trouble with RUclips crashing, and I haven't been able to make comments the last couple of days. I have been thinking about you, I know you will be feeling very up and down 💔 I hope you are managing to get some sleep, take care. Sending love and hugs xxx
Amazing photographs. Love nighttime photography. Did a lot of it before everything went digital. Recall visiting Land's End with my parents back in the late 70s. No rip-off parking or charging for standing by the sign back then.
Wish it was still the same.
Loved the night sky photos.
Thanks
Great video Stephen the Wallace and gromit attraction looks good but doubt I’d be able to afford to go in after I’ve parked ✨
Get video Steve , I went there with the cub scouts years ago and all I can remember is the first and last post and first and last house
Intresting vid Stephen .Thank you.👍
Thanks for the video stephen always good to watch
Thanks Julie 👍
Amazing video, Steve. Well done 👏 👏
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always ive never been to lands end yiu photos are incredible wow you are so clever have a great evening xx
Glad you enjoyed it Wendy x
Brilliant video Stephen, really enjoyed this one. Never been myself to lands end, was interesting in the dark. Great photos 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it Shirley.
Oh I’ve been there we saw the whales in the distance in the sea it was a lovely site Crickey that’s a ripoff them parkin charges don’t say anything when yer go back to Blackpool 😂 this is so nice to see bought so many good memories back for me thank you so much for sharin this Bodmin moor is awesome there is a pub there a crackin video till the next one 😊
Stephen fantastic video one of your best 😊
Thanks Ellen.
Brilliant informative video Stephen. Thanks for sharing....
No worries Rob
If I had heard so much as a rustle in the bushes out there on my own, I would have thought 'Sidhe - Phooka from Celtic folklore 😱' whereas in fact it would probably have been a sleepless rabbit or loose crisp bag!
Wasn't sure if you were gonna make us all jump out our skins at some point with some scary surprise!
Strange you didn't get collared by security in some form.
A bit Blair Witch, this one. Hope the cows didn't get you on the way back! Loved the sounds of the sea and the breathtakingly beautiful photography: bangin'.
Tbh, you're probably safer there than in the wrong pub at the wrong time with the wrong people in certain areas of Blackpool on a Sat night.
Top work, Pal. Keep the spooky vibe goin'! 👍
Surprised there was no security, but it is a public right-of-way, so they wouldn't be able to stop me.
Uch Aye 🥁🏴‼️.
Stephen this was brilliant Love your night vids best They chill me out From David in Cromer Take care 🌒☀️🌘
That house only needed a red light to be the first & last massage parlour in England
A long way from Blackpool!
Looks pretty 🎉😊
Great vlog and updated Stephen
Thanks kkrispy.
It is years ago since I went nothing there then. . Shan't be going back. Well done for shafting them! Very pleased for you. It is designed for suckers with more money than sense. It is so Mickey Mouse. Land's End is irrelevant as the UK is so small you can do the trip in two days. Hardly a great explorer required. I have driven further in one day in Europe.
All alone, in the dark, no sign of life, except perhaps for The Beast of Bodmin Moor, plus you might fall off the edge, into the sea. As if that's not bad enough, bloody hell, a cup of tea £2.95 whoa!! That's scandalous Stephen 🤣 xxx
Thanks Moonage xx
Spooky👻
None of that when we visited in the late seventies .
Enjoyed the video Stephen ❤
Brilliant Stephen😊
It's there Stephen It's always there the beast of bodwin lol 😆 🤣 😂 😄 😜
Lands End was Disneyfied 2000s onwards. Cornwall have a special all day a special bus ticket hop on a off the entire county £5 (2022 when I last visited). Better still ithe SWCP from the Minack theatre. Avoid the ripoff parking.
Creepy place 😮
There is a shop on Gibraltar that is the first and last shop in europe
Loved this video 👻
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m here at the moment Stephen!!
Keep exploring!
Will do!
We went to Jamaica inn what a disappointment that was
Very lonely and quiet.
Stay safe
This is very creepy Strphen 😎
It's clear enough tonight for me to get my Telescope out.
Title Sounds like a death metal song acdc lol..great video ♥️
😂
Nice to see it hasn't been overly commercialized....
Really surprised there wasn't a security guard to run you off getting all those views for free or for trespassing after "approved" visiting hours.
Money grubbers
No £1 burgers there Stephen 😂
Imagine paying £1 for a burger and £3 for a cup of tea to go with it.
I bet a full English breakfast cost's a fortune 🤣
You should visit the Scilly isles Stephen , you can go out on the ferry and back on the helicopter , beautiful place .
I agree. It's the Scillonian from Penzance harbour. Great views on a nice day.
@@neilhilton35 ,that's it , like I say went over on that and came back on the helicopter , loved it and aim to go back again .
Proper tourist trap! Never been there, can imagine it used to be really nice, but looks spoiled and like a theme park with prices to match 😡
Very Dark and Quiet you do get about Stephen wouldn’t be like that in Blackpool.
Nice to see you come to Kernow. Did you manage to observe the sky from anywhere else here?
Yes, Marazion and Kynance Cove.
HI , Steve it looks like a place out of a ghost story waiting to see something jump out on you lol..and I would not pay their parking prices neither it looks like a dark dreary place. been to Penzance yet lands end I was told is a couple of miles from there..john south shore.
Penzance is just 20 minutes away or so John.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool Yep new it was not far still would not pay their parking prices.
I hope you don't get a surprise in the post for parking between 12am and 4am, it did say strictly no parking between 12am and 4am.
I didn’t take any chances & parked outside.
The photos are top class 👍
@@randompete2204 Thanks 🙏
