That's my old flat on the corner of Cavendish Rd/Devonshire Rd. The first flat I ever had with my first love. It was a bit old fashioned but we did it up nice. Had my 21st birthday party there, I don't know how we managed to fit everyone in as it was tiny. lol. Happy days..
I always think of Blackpool being a big town and feels like a city in certain places, some lovely areas of Blackpool, Bispham being one of them, Stanley Park area, parts of South Shore, it's still a great place and we have to thank you Stephen for your dedication into showcasing the town and surrounding areas, well done Stephen, much appreciated 👍
I love civic buildings such as libraries and Town Halls. I spent most of my working life (37 years), working in them in the Wigan/Leigh areas. We used to get moved around for training and when we got promoted, so I reckon I've worked in over a dozen. The library featured is situated in such a lovely setting. Perfect for a cheese butty and flask of coffee at lunchtime! Thanks for the video.
Bispham is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, so a little older than Blackpool! The pub used to be called The Old England - the best pint of Tetley bitter a man could wish for.
I spent many happy years in Bispham on Beaufort ave and also in the former children’s home at 331 Bispham road, I have a lot of love and fond memories of my time in Bispham
Thanks Stephen, it's always nice to see a different area near Blackpool, nice gardens surrounding the library (library building was built in the 1920s) and opened as a library in 1938. Some nice houses in that area by the looks of things.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpoolso have I. All the negativity and intensity. Thank you, Thank you for filming the library which I think is an activity centre for people with disabilities? Behind the old library was a medical clinic with a children’s dentist. My friends and I in the colder mornings would run into Bispham park (behind the library) and run and slide parallel to Bispham Rd on the tarmac on our way to school at Bispham Endowed Jr. School. They had puddles that were frozen solid with ice. Ah, the memories came flooding back to me of when I was 9 to 11 years old, all the while hoping I wouldn’t fall in the process.
Nice video Stephen, we're up in bispham at our son's this week, having a nice time, agree it is a nice place, love the Highlands pub just on the front. Thanks mate cheers.
Hi Stephen. Thank you very much for sharing your walk around Bispham. nice to see another part of Blackpool. some lovely buildings and lots of green. take care and enjoy the rest of the week. 👍❤️❤️❤️
Stopped in Harlands Hotel in Bispham. Very nice quiet place. Love the library building. Police station looked a bit of a mess.( lucky to have one l suppose) Thanks for showing Stephen 👍🏻☀️😎🪴🌸
Awwww, so cool to see Bispham making a video 🥰 My little family and I all sub to you.. im not sure we'd know what was going on in our area otherwise 😅 Very much appreciated 👍 Thank you!
What a lovely area Stephen. The old library is hopefully a preserved building. Good to see people looking after their gardens and the surrounding roads. Lots of green space too. I bet the house prices are high relative to downtown Blackpool !
i really like your walk around videos and a bit of history to go with it your allways funny and factual thank you for all the videos you do a like and thumbs up from me again 🙂
Hiya Stephen..enjoyed the video brings back memories when we were over there last year staying at the Premier Hotel...there was no fridge in the room so at night after tea we would go round to the supermarket and buy milk..
Hi Stephen, love the video and yes Bispham is a lovely quiet place. That market was at the opposite side of the rd next to the freezer shop until last year. Had you gone further up All Hallows rd there's a beautiful old church at the top and the Bispham gala Fields. It's a beautiful place I wouldn't live anywhere else.
I believe that might be the site of the original parish church where the name Blackpool was first put to paper in 1602 to mark a birth in the Foxhall area.
Hello Stephen. That looks a really nice place near Blackpool and free parking as well. It is obviously where the slightly well off live and although I live in the South that place appeals t me. Well done.
Hi Steve. - This video is very interesting, it's a crying shame that the Library looks to be abandoned. Although the surrounding areas have been very well maintained. I know that you are fond of Trees and all greenery. The picture and sound is perfect. Take care my friend, see you soon, Ian. 👌
No, it's still in use, access is through the newer entrance, but no longer as a library but as a unique day centre for adults with learning difficulties.
Joking aside….the gardens are far well maintained than our garden, all in all I loved this video, and as for the Hydrangea we had a Lacecap one, funnily enough when our lovely little Apple tree got killed by high winds,it’s friend the Lacecap died shortly after, they had been together for years.

Sadly it no longer bears any resemblance to a village. Anything of note was demolished many years ago. There used to be whitewashed cottages. There was a spree of demolition in the 1960s.
I take it Blackpool is composed of several little villages or areas under different names. Same as my hometown of Bedford has 10 wards for the Borough Council. Putnoe and Kempston being 2 examples, but still classed as Bedford
Thanks Stephen for the video. An uncle of mine used to live in Bispham, he was a branch manager of a building society in Blackpool. All I remember was that the house he lived in was a great sprawling five bedroomed place, that house would be worth millions now. Bit too quiet for me but each to their own. Did you have a pint in the Albion pub it looks a nice place. 👍😊😊
Thanks for the video, i live in bispham village, its nice and quiet, i dont consider living in 'blackpool' as its a way out of town and its a village, lots of take away and restaurants cafe's also including red bank road. The bispham barber is run by a woman, within the market, which is poor, not much in it at all, also many hairdressers and barbers, we would benefit from a mobile phone shop, where you could get a contract, and didnt need to go into blackpool to do that, it does come under blackpool council. There is a library and swimming pool in my doctors practice, north shore surgery, all the doctors surgeries are located there, they have lots of various clinics working out of the building also.
