- Me and Miss Nancy (my ex-racing greyhound) got off to a pretty bad start today, in fact it’s not been a great couple of weeks for the van! But we took comfort in each others company, and explored another beautiful place in Cornwall. I always find National Trust gardens and countryside to be beautiful and peaceful places (if they aren’t too busy!) and Trengwainton was no exception.
Nancy Drew was very well behaved as usual, so if you want to see what it’s really like to have a greyhound and take them out and about with you on adventures then this video is for you. Also if you just want greyhound core you’re in the right place!

There's a great old song called 'Why don't you do right like some other men do' sung by Peggy Lee and a billiant line in it that goes'I knew one of us would have to work and I hoped it would be you.' I can't work anymore 'cos' I'm too old and I doubt I'll ever make a million from my poetry in the US. Imagine it, a country house with a garden and some woodland where flowers can grow and you can hear the wind sighing in the trees and we can both be placed up in the highest tree when we die like some Native American tribes used to do. You could even have a couple of Corgis if you wished but we need a million quid minimum to achieve this before I'm too old to enjoy it.. I'm fading fast now Tori due to too much heart ache and pain.💋💋💋

It’s very special, she’s the first dog I’ve ever had and it’s very different relationship. She is awesome 🤩
Hello Tori & Miss Nancy , congrats on adopting such a wonderful doggie 🐶, they give us so much unconditional love ❤️ & companionship . My beautiful ( American Eskimo) Kaila passed away on May 13th this year , amazing 15 years & 8 months . Miss her so much , 😢. Thx for sharing your beautiful experiences with her . I just lost my senior dog recently. But in the new year im going to my local retired racing greyhound rescue to hopefully bring one home.
Been doing my research and i feel they are perfect for me. ❤

There an incredible breed Glory is my best friend she lies by my bed all day as I can't move around and my so and daughter walk her but it took time for her to settle but she is such a foodie we have an incredible bond she my world ❤
Glory sounds amazing, they are such a great comfort and once they give you their trust there is nowhere they would rather be than by your side ❤️ it does take time for them to settle it’s such a massive change and a whole new world for them so much to learn! But with time it’s like they were always there, and it’s just where they should be in a nice home with people to love them.

Your videos have made me realise every dog owner including myself thinks their dog is the best dog. Our dog Max is a fifteen and a half Lhasa Apso, an ancient guard dog breed that is classified by 'experts' as below average intelligence. Through time, we have realised he is in fact a genius who can control humans. As the years pass by there is a little worry in the back of our minds that strangers only ever begin to talk to us because we are in the company of Max. His most amazing trick is to always keep us happy every day without fail :)
Haha yes you are right about that, and even though we know other people must feel the same about their dogs we still think ours are the best 🤣 Mu friend has three Lhasa Apsos! Sounds like he has strong powers aren’t they TIbetan? I like his best trick though, Miss Nancy does that too 😊
My uncertain recollection of history is that the Lhasa Apso guarded the interior of Tibetan monasteries, temples and royal residences. They probably provided a verbal warning form of guarding as there were large mastiffs undertaking external guarding duties. Historically, they were only ever gifted between the Tibetan aristocracy and probably were regarded as somewhat sacred. Lhasa's can sometimes be confusing to live with because visually you have a cute little dog (who loves being cuddled) but within which beats the heart of a noble warrior who can sometimes be difficult to negotiate with. This is our second Lhasa in a row.
@michaelr4573 it’s such an interesting history. The ones we met are certainly very feisty and quite keen to bark at poor Miss Nancy!
I must apologise on behalf of all Lhasa owners. Embarrassment for one's dogs uncouth behaviour is sometimes unavoidable. In the past as a middle aged dog Max unfortunately eventually saw off at least two professional dog walkers who could not cope with his occasional shenanigans, even though they had no problems dealing with German Shepherds, etc. Acting aggressively back towards a frighteningly angry Lhasa who does not want his dirty feet rubbed or such like does not help the situation and indeed would only inflame the situation. My eventual action was to wear a long sleeved jacket and two pairs of gardening gloves and if he bit me with his quick sharp little teeth to act as though his attack was nothing, puny and did not hurt. That approach then made him realise he could never be the Alpha and he then soon stopped challenging my authority. Max was always charming the other 99% of the time. As he has reached old age, he no longer has a great desire to challenge for dominance with me or other dogs. He is a castrated male. As a general rule of he gets along with female dogs (who do not feel threatened by him) and other castrated males. He often does not get along with in tact males or large dogs possibly due to jealousy on his part.
@michaelr4573 🤣 this really made me laugh. I am imagining you in some kind of Kevlar bee keepers outfit for protection. Well no one is perfect right dogs and humans included! If I’m going to be absolutely honest not even Miss Nancy 🙈

The MOT on my old Merc next month. Dreading it, know it needs some work to pass, but what else who knows. Had it 20 years LOL, but its not too much longer for this world I don't think. Rusty rusty now..
Well it was expensive to me but I guess it’s subjective, having to take it back again was not ideal I hope it’s ok now though!
Fingers crossed for your merc, you never know hopefully it will sale through! Rust isn’t ideal though, I was getting my old car welded every mot because it was holey 😂

Getting dragged to M&S or a National trust place as a kid by the parents I can totally relate to. Just can't appreciate a classic country manor and gardens at that age. Now though I'd love to tour a load of National Trust properties.
😂 it’s true, I did used to like the gardens though just used to wander off, and that still my favourite bit! It’s like the perfect companion to wild walks.

Outwardly you hide your stress well. I hope it is nothing more than your van, which can be fixed. I meant to ask from your last vid', in this day and age, do girls still like to be told they are pretty? I still hold doors open for a Lady, pretty or not. I am just a gentleman.
I think the van is fixed now! They failed to tighten something up properly 😖 Well I can’t speak for other girls, some people seem to live for taking offence to everything, but I think if someone is well meaning it’s all good! And holding doors open for people is polite and nice 😊

@dickieb2233 so many agendas, I don’t see any point looking for offense. It’s not too hard to tell when someone means well! People say odd stuff to me all the time but I don’t care 😂 ha no indeed when you’ve paid hundreds of pounds I especially want them to make everything nice and tight on the van!! 😂
