Having panic attacks and anxiety is completely normal after going through a trauma like loosing Ms Nancy, and doing something like relaxing on the river is the best way to deal with it. Well done for not giving up and going home when you started feeling anxious. ❤
What a beautiful little adventure, anxiety is such a pain, when I am healthy and happy I forget it evert exists, but when I am stressed and tired and pushing myself it loves to make everything difficult. I found Melatonin helps to keep my sleep patterns more structured and that reallyhelps me. And music is my mindfulness. Thanks for the beautiful video, lots of love to you!!
Thank you 🙏 Yes you are right there, it’s easy to forget when you feel ok and then for me things can start to slide pretty rapidly. You’ve reminded me I need some more sleep sups though, I often take 5htp which seems to help. I think I’ll put some music on too, thank you! 🤩
Great video once again Tori and that lovely smile of yours is coming back as well. Dealing with anxiety is hard but you seem to have great ways of dealing with it. Look after yourself and sending you a big virtual hug. Look forward to your next adventure.
I only recently discovered paddleboarding and I find it sooooo relaxing. Thank you for your honesty and openness in the face of great difficulty. Happy paddling :)
Thank you so much for your video. I was actually planning to buy a paddle board myself for the exact same reason, to deal with my anxiety! I was looking for experiences according to choosing the wright board and here are you, dealing with the same issues as me and having this good idea to calm down surrounded by water and nature! First I was doubting about buying one, but now I don't have doubts any more. I'm buying that board and paddle my way thrue the rivers of the Netherlands! Thanks!
i am so glad! I think it’s a great idea you won’t regret it and once you get into the swing of things I am sure it can only help. happy paddling and ☺️
Good morning 🌅, Lovely to see the English Countryside, it is a great shame that the river are so polluted now, when I was a youngster I would go swimming in the rivers with my friends, I am now retired living in France my property as a river/stream it is very clear, the only time it gets murky is when there has been a lot of rain or storm, Sorry to hear you suffer from anxiety , you might find listening to chillout music, or meditation bells or bowls, where they chant, I hope you find some enjoyment and relaxation and relaxing journey on the river, France.
some of the rivers definitely are polluted, I hope not all but I really don’t know. must be lovely living in France near the river, beautiful. I will have a look into the meditation bells thank you!
Your vids are so interesting and relaxing, being a Greyhound dad I can't imagine how you must feel, godbless you and thanks for yr videos they are amazing, u r a truly beautiful soul both on the inside and out
Fantastic video it's so nice that people talk about anxiety , we all suffer I think but some more than others .my anxiety cripples me at times but just watching you dealing with it helps us all .this is the first video I have watched with you .keep them going and I will watch them all ❤
thank you I am so glad you found this video helpful, it really can be crippling and it’s so easy to feel like you’re the only person who feels that way too. thanks for watching ❤️
Another lovely video with beautiful scenery and honest insights. I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety. You seem to be doing all of the right things to manage it. I did laugh at the nosey dog
Thank you 🙏 yeah me too but I guess we can’t feel good all the time. Trying to get on with things but it does make life more difficult that’s for sure. Haha the dog oh my gosh I though my phone was going in the water and that would have been it 🫣
@@missnancysdayoff You're right that life has peaks and troughs and after a traumatic event such as you've been through those troughs might be deeper and longer for a while but you'll come through them. You need a hug girl!
@stephenpickering5968 ☺️ yeah to be fair at least to be honest I know why I feel bad. I can be so prickly when I’m not feeling good though Hugging me can be a dangerous business 😅
I have just enjoyed your latest video........as ever a gentle and tranquil escape for twenty minutes or so. Thankyou and I hope you find some inner peace......you deserve it.
Blimey, Cornwall to Surrey. Living the high life. Looking forward to seeing you with another Dog , all in good time. I find my dog soothes away all troubles and stresses with their calm nature. Perfect if you suffer from Anxiety.
Thank you for opening up about Anxieties. I suffer terribly but thought it was just me. Its kind of comforting to realise its not just me although I wouldn't wish it on anyone, its nice to know im not so freaky as I thought. 😊 Sending you lots of good, positive energy for your next adventures! 💫🙏
Hey Pablo. I too can relate, I posted this by itself, but wanted to share with you. I jusy found something that worked for me, after 30+ years of dealing with it. Look up "Internal Family Systems" it worked crazy well for me even doing it by myself. Honestly, doing solo is why it worked. I had to look inward and basically talk to that anxiety inside me like it is it's own person. Show them the love and support you would show your best friend. Tell yourself. "I see you, thank you for doing your best to help me. I love you. Let's let calm and confidence take over." Meditate and use that as your intention and I know you'll feel a shift. If you or anyone else tries it, please let me know. It literally changed my whole life. Namaste. 😊❤
I love getting outdoors - so calming and yet fulfilling. I’ve just got back from walking the Coleridge Way (Somerset into Devon) and then a stretch of the South West Coastal path with my rescue hound. I feel mentally recharged. Oddly, the more active my mind is, the more I enjoy it. Watching you in that water I was thinking the whole waterway could benefit from being sent through your water filter. I do enjoy your posts - I always look forward to watching them and hearing you r meaningful comments.
I 100% agree with you, many times I plan days out but I talk myself out of it after waking up, when I actually get out my stomach, chest and head gives me a nausea feeling. So well done for achieving your day out
I live not far from there. Nature, sunshine and music perfect video to watch. Since I have lived off grid my mind, health and love of life has skyrocketed. Food as you say is very important ❤
@@missnancysdayoff This time of year is amazing. You have a period of 4months Nov/Feb that can be a drag. Everything has a price though. I get really excited when the garden stirs as I know it's only a matter of time before nature chatters and blooms. The long days of light and early morning bird calls set my clock perfectly. Then jumpers and fires snuggle my soul as the nights draw in. Not many people get it or have the time. The dark, cold and mud that follows resets you and makes you appreciate what has gone before and before too long will shortly follow. If it is something you would like to do and you get the chance, go for it. I know for sure it's been a challenge and I have been lucky. I was never afraid of failing, I was more afraid of regretting not giving it a go. We all have our battles. It's shown me you don't need a lot to be happy and at peace with oneself. A cup of tea, biscuit and a the heat of a fire and I'm grinning like a Cheshire cat. I do have to be careful though that living as I do on my own that I don't become too feral 😂
@@missnancysdayoff You're welcome. Come and try it for a few days and see 👍 I will leave you to it. Be interesting to see if it helps you find peace. Just don't wreck the place 😂
Hello Victoria, plainly transparent that you wore the Yankee cap thinking of me ,your most smitten fan! Regarding panic and anxiety, a neurologist suggests ,cold shower, ice pack down your back ,put your face in cold water ect. I'm glad the swim helped! Good music again. The very best is on the way to you. Cheers , Tom (the Yank)
😅 of course, always thinking of you! Infact I need to get a new one I think my head has grown I can barely get it on! Argh I cannot abide cold showers but I dare say you are right. An ice pack down my back! Isn’t that just torture?!
@@missnancysdayoff the doctor said that the idea is to shock your nervous system out of the panic. So it’s rather like first aid. Mindfulness is so important,so that’s good. Love the Nancy graphics. The D3 from the sun is vital. Your baby blues are all the therapy this man needs. Good afternoon.
@tommylandbeach8049 i like that thought, it’s first aid, I’d better do it! I can see that though shocking yourself right again. I’m glad you liked Miss Nancy, I don’t want her getting left out it’s her channel after all 🥰
Glad to see you out and about and enjoying life and nature. It looks like a lovely river and calming place. Anxiety is horrid thing, and something I have unknowingly suffered most of my adult life with. I have only recently learnt to control and my life has totally changed. You probably need a drift stopper for your paddle board, which are set of fins that strap on the back of the board, and will keep you going in a straight line (though probably not cheap). Happy travels 👍🏼
Thanks, it was pretty peaceful and quiet that day very nice. I’m sorry to hear that, it’s definitely something that I think we need to kind of engage with and accept to learn how to deal with it. That paddleboard actually has 3 fins attached permanently on the back, which I assume are supposed to fulfill that function?! So I think it’s my terrible paddle ing, to be fair that is a very small board which make it easier to turn, but harder to go straight. That’s my excuse! 😅
Another lovely video Tori, nice to see you on another different adventure and the positive progress you're making through your grief...ref steering your paddle board, experiment with leaving your paddle blade in the water at the end of the stroke with different angles so as to direct the water under the board 🙏
@@missnancysdayoffthe stroke referred to here is called a J-stroke and it's used exclusively in canoeing. The reason we don't use it for paddle boarding is because SUPs have fins which prevent the tail of the board from deflecting. If you used a J-stroke on a SUP the sideways resistance would just create drag and slow you down. Instead, focus on getting your paddle shaft vertical. It's easier to do this if you hinge from the hips rather than using your arms and shoulders - which also makes you more efficient because you're using bigger muscles. If in doubt , stick your bum out. It's difficult to give you more specific tips with limited footage, but if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Although I subscribed to your channel a while ago, I’ve just stumbled across this video at a low point in my life (Don’t you just love how these algorithms work!) and found it quite inspiring. I live fairly close to where you paddle boarded, so time to dust off my SUP, get out there and see what life throws at me. Thank you!
Hi tori great video beautiful scenery as always and to top it off the beautiful tori and what a work out pumping the paddle boat up well done hope you are ok and well and remember all your followers love watching you and your videos so be safe and take care ❤xxx
Relatively new subscriber here but really enjoying the content - having been a sufferer from anxiety and depression in the past (and the occasional panic attack!) I sympathise. Not had anything like that for nearly a decade - the one thing I put down to being the greatest remedy for me was getting out into nature on my own, walking for miles in the most out of the way picturesque places.
So glad you like it thanks for the sub! I think you’re absolutely right, if I was spending a few hours each day out walking i think I’d be feeling somewhat better now. Just need to tour that into action. I’m so glad you were able to turn it around ☺️
That must be the most cost effective and environmentally friendly way to introduce you to the canal way of life. Many years ago voluntary work took place to restore the Wey and Arun canal . Peace and tranquility and country life are the best things to help you through life. Life in the slow lane is an ideal way to relax and let stress and strain fade and love life and living once again .Canal life has been mine for many years hope it will soon become yours
It’s very interesting going past all the boats and wondering if people live on them. I certainly agree with peace tranquility and country life, I’m all about the slow lane. Do you live on a canal boat now? I’m not sure if I realised that from what you said before. If you know anyone with one to rent/houseboat so I could try out the lifestyle let me know!
Haha thank you, not sure about no question but it wasn’t too close a call 😊 thankfully I’ve not had a panic attack for years, the lifestyle of my 20s did not help with that but I’m pretty clean living now! Anxiety does come and go though it sucks.
That was a beautiful location and video. You put into words a subject I found difficult to when I suffered with both depression and anxiety. Panic attacks are scary and horrible, but thankfully I feel much better these days. Thank you for bringing us along on your journey. I love your drawings/graphics too ❤️
Grief fuelled anxiety has been hanging around my life for years and I'm only starting to understand it now, and recognise how it affects me day to day. A lot of how you described yourself felt very familliar and I very much empathise. From this little snapshot of your life, it looks like you are coping quite well even though I'm sure it doesn't feel like it a lot of the time. Deep breaths and one day at a time, is the only way sometimes.
Thank you for sharing that, yeah honestly it doesn’t feel like I’m doing so great a lot of the time 🫣 But every today is a new day, I am trying to learn to take a bit of pressure off myself when I’m not feeling great which is not so easy. Deep breaths 🙏
I’m a totally new subscriber, I have to say I was so sorry you felt so low. What always works for me is just being out in nature, it definitely helps me. Good luck 👍👍
Ey up me duck. I randomly came across this vid and enjoyed watching. You're so right what you said regarding anxiety and being in nature is definitely better than any medication. From a fellow sufferer of mental health and bad anxiety. 💚🙂
Fab film , thank you Tori Keep hydrated out on the water 😅. I can’t give any advice on SUP techniques , but off road mtb cycling yes 👍 Best wishes to you on your adventures, from here in The Newforest
I’m glad you liked it! Ah funny you should say that i am hoping to get back on my MTB too (if i can get the brakes unseized 🫣) so you can tell me them what I’m doing wrong! Hope you’re keeping well and have seen some ponies today, magical place
You upload such colourful and scenic videos which are inspiring and real ❤️ thank you for sharing 🙏🏻 the music is great too!! Bless you sweetie 🥰 I might buy myself a paddle board!! 🤔
Yourself and the scenery Stunning as always Tori... I feel your anxiety. Just recovering from a major cancer operation, your videos are really calming. Take care Tori ❤ x
been watching a bit of your journeys here and there and i must admit i can relate with the anxiety especially of late lost a job after 10 years and found myself having a massive panic attack to the extent i ended up slumping out of my car door just to alert anybody i needed help .... now self employed and its been making an appearance every now and then seems to like when im stuck in traffic (yeah thanks 😂)... but going from this vid im definitely going to spend a bit if time outside rambling around the norfolk coast .
that sounds awful, it really can feel like you are dying, I hope things are a bit better for you now. a traffic jam is not where you want that popping up either! rambling round the Norfolk coast sounds like the perfect thing to me ☺️
I watched this yesterday, I was going to write to you then but seeing your heartfelt loss, hit a spot that you will understand. Several tissues later, a day later, there is only one thing to help you, get a puppy and start over, it is the only way. You will never forget your beloved friend, ever. It has been a long time since losing Dylon, he was recued from being put down the next day, I took him home and he was the best friend I ever had,. A hound but an Afghan hound. ❤
Dylon sounds very special ❤️ I truly won’t ever forget Nancy, although I hope it becomes less raw some day. i do want to get another dog when I can, it is such a pure relationship and I miss it all so much.
Glad to see you like sup boarding. I do too. The trick is to have the paddle slightly twisted towards the board when pull from front to back. This sends some of the water under the board which keeps you going straight. A bit difficult to explain but give it a go. You’ll soon be pulling on your dominant side most of the time.😊😊😊
Hey nancy , great video . I found this as a random SUP board video to watch . I enjoy paddleboading and its so relaxing once your out on the water. I dont think about work hoe life or anything just enjoy my surroundings and the absence of day to day rushing around. i found your video relaxing to watch 1st thing in the morning , Your filimg was fine so no issues there. Keep up the good work
Another really relaxing video with great perspectives. I took one look at the water and was hoping you weren't going to fall in but then you actually went in willingly!! The ocean has to be a lot more appealing but then you can't really paddleboard on it unless conditions are perfect. As for going straight, modify your stroke to something akin to a canoe or kayak J-stroke. At the end of each stroke, just do a little correction - using the paddle as a rudder - and you will keep straight without having to make large corrections. At the end of the stroke, leave the paddle in the water for 1/2 second and turn it parallel to the board and twist it lightly in in the direction that will help you go straight. The j-stroke becomes seamless after a while and once you log 10km, you'll be a pro!
Thank you I’m glad you liked it! Yes I agree it was nowhere near as appealing as the sea but it was what was available and it was so hot! No chance I’d go in in the winter. Ok the J stroke, this definitely sound lie the answers and i will try it next time I am out thank you, 10km oh my gosh 😅
Such a beautiful adventure. Panic attacks are horrible. I got it for some time when I was in my twenties due to a severe event in the family. Luckily they became less severe during some time. I became aware that it wouldn't kill me, and then I focused on just enduring the attacks when they happened and else to consentrate on good things. Just like you are doing now. I am now 70 and have been fine for many decades 😊
Thank you!. I am so glad that you have recovered, it’s like you say at first you really think you are going to die, and gradually you just start to find a way through ☺️
Hey Tori, lovely peaceful video, one of my favourite things to do, paddling on the river is so calming, always such a gentle way to spend a day. The effects of anxiety can be so incredibly strong and make you feel like you are ready to collapse, so I’m glad you started to feel the peace from the river and enjoyed your day there. Also I was thinking ‘she’s going to fall in in a minute’ then your caption popped up 😂 Xx 🤗❤️
Thanks! It was very peaceful out there on that day, it does take a really long time to feel better sometimes. Like years 🤣 I just knew when I watched that back people were gonna be secretly hoping for a fall, only natural! Xx 🤗
@@missnancysdayoff I’m crossing everything, fingers, arms, toes, legs and eyes that it doesn’t really take years! 😂 Well, ahem, of course I wasn’t hoping you would fall in at all! 👀 😂 xx 🤗
That looks great fun, and relaxing too. I think we all need a release where we have to concentrate on what we are doing, and forget our day to day lives. BTW, you are so good at chatting to the camera, it really feels as though we are there with you (as we are in spirit of course). Thats my neck of the woods, - I work in Guildford and often wander down to the river for some peace and quiet at lunchtime.
It’s true, it can be so hard to find something where your mind isn’t still torturing you, I used to do CrossFit which was amazing because it’s just so damn painful there is no room in your head for anything at all! Thanks, it’s definitely an improvement over my first videos it used to feel incredibly awkward and it sure showed. Do you, I guess Guildford wasn’t too much further up. I think there supposed to be a ruined chapel a bit further up have you seen that? I definitely paddled far enough for one day infact I have crippling neck pain now 😅 but I might go back to walk and swim further up.
St Catherine's, between Guildford and Shalford. I have walked past a few times when I lived in Guildford. Quite a way from Godalming on a paddleboard I expect.
I had panic disorder in my 20s. Was not pleasant, but i learnt to soothe and practice self-compassion. You're right that once it starts, takes a while before the body gets back to normal. Hugs
Hi its so good to see you showing a bit of my part of the world can i say if you paddled on a bit more just outside of Guildford there is a place called St Catherine,s there is a spring were you could have filled up your water bottel hope you canshow of Surrey as its not all motorways take care sweet lady 🚣♀🙂👍👍
I think I’ve read about that I want to go, sounds like another trip is needed! I didn’t know about the spring though sounds perfect. Thank you I will try, your right it’s not it’s beautiful although I cannot deny I find it infuriating at times how many people there are 🤣🫣
PS. I also know Surrey, West Sussex, Cornwall 11years and know Hampshire ! I recognise the places you go, you are awesome, may your anxiety go away please, for I have recently found it but then I am 67yrs , I't could be worse , you deal with it sensibly and more power to your elbow, I look forward to seeing your puppy 😀

@@missnancysdayoff it will calm your thoughts when needed, but it better not relax you too much as then you wont make content and that will make me need to take a whole bottle of it lol
A nice video and I like your energy. I used to do a lot of river kayaking in my younger days, and if you're struggling to keep your board straight, you may try keeping you paddle much closer to your board. The wider the you set your paddle in the water, the more your board will want to turn. Also make sure your paddle length is set correctly for your height. The good thing is there's loads of RUclips videos offering help. Lastly, and you may already know this, but Viles disease in rivers and canals is a real thing that anyone doing this sport needs to be fully aware of the symptoms as it can be very dangerous when you're swimming, or indeed just in contact with the water.
Good to see you Tori. I love how you accidentally caught a couple of dogs doing their thing very cute 😻. Yes it was very amusing what you said that the end about how the dogs will magically appear to knock over your camera, and the reference to 'effluent' 🤣, you are very brave to swim in a canal it's one place I would struggle to build the courage to go in 😧. But I love canals and your video took me back to when I was at college and we went on a week's residential on a canal boat that was a converted coal haulier so it was equipped with bunk beds and the canvas roof, it was great fun. It sounds like you're amygdala is running on overdrive 🤯 so I would definitely encourage you to continue daily mindfulness practice. It's been shown on MRI scans that 25 days of mindfulness practice is sufficient to reduce the size of your amygdala an increase the size of other parts of the brain. A reduced amygdala will correspond to a reduced experience of anxiety. When I was growing up having I had friends on a farm, it struck me as strange that they take the cow's milk for themselves but give the carves powdered milk. What on earth is the point in that. And then where does the powdered milk come from? The whole thing is beyond ridiculous. Then there was a company in London who were making ice cream from human milk, the mothers were being paid to supply the surplus milk. But this was quickly closed down by the council due to health concerns that the milk was not suitable for human consumption! 😳 So we're not allowed to drink human milk but it's fine to drink milk from other animals which again illustrates societies insanity. I know some people here might be freaked out about the idea of drinking human milk particularly as an adult but then why doesn't it freak people out the idea of drinking animals milk? Okay rant over.😅 I do hope you continue with your mindfulness practice and I keep my fingers crossed that your anxiety will settle down. Sending hugs 🤗🤗🤗 (hugs have been shown in studies to reduce stress) I give a lot of hugs to my family and friends and would suggest everybody gives it a try. ✌
They were cute, nowhere near as cute as my girl but they can’t help that 🫣 honestly if it hadn’t been so hot i don’t think i would have gone in, sparkling clear water is definelty far more appealing! The sea may also be full of raw sewage but at least them is more of it to dilute it 😂 that sounds like a very fun college trip though, id like to try a canal boat. I wish it was continuing the mindfulness practice, I’ve done it in the past but i really need to start from scratch, I’m not putting the right things first I admit. Thank you for the reminder, it’s crazy how i can know from my own personal experience as well as reading things as you have said that it is of great benefit to me, and yet still not just do it. Humans are weird. The whole milk thing is utterly nuts when you really do think about it. Surely the great milk ice cream makes a lot more sense! Absolutely nuts. Of course harvesting breast milk from others species that is produced purely and solely to grow there babies into big fat calves makes sense and isn’t at all disturbing 🫣 Thank you ☺️🤗
@@missnancysdayoff 'sea may also be full of raw sewage but at least them is more of it to dilute it' 🤣🤣 that's true! Hmmm if I could take a canal boat and put it on the rivers of Europe that will be great, I'm pretty sure you could travel a new stretch of water every day for years without covering the same area twice. Believe it or not but 'not' doing what you know is good for you is actually one of the recovery stages of grief. For the same reason a person can stay in bed all day, they beat themselves up that they're being lazy or unproductive but the brain needs that time to process which ultimately leads them closer recovery. So don't be too hard on yourself. What you feed your mind is important and one way to do that in a fairly easy way is with a good podcast. Perhaps choose something on the subject of mindfulness to listen to, something that describes the benefits or people's experiences, even though you know that it can reinforce or enhance the desire to participate again in mindfulness practice. I remember speaking to a farmer who had twin carves that were orphaned and none of the other mothers took them on so they were fed formula and he said that their growth pattern was severely stunted because they were not drinking their mother's milk. It's also odd that human mothers would prefer in some cases to feed their newborns on formula. I know there are complications such as latching if a mother decides to feed her newborn naturally but this is the only way her child would get an immune system amongst other numerous benefits. Indeed humans are weird. Keep up the good work Tori, and always self-care. 😊🤗
I’m really looking forward to when you at some point, put out a video, and say you’re ready to get another dog. I think it will do you the world of good, and give you something to focus on, and start a whole new chapter in your life, with new adventures. I think your anxiety will ease a ton as well. Take care of yourself. 🙂
It worked for us when we lost our first rescue too soon. We knew what we meant to the dog when we got her out of the rescue centre and we knew more dogs like her come in every day. You naturaly question if it's too soon but life is quick enough as it is, sometimes you have to make decisions even though you're not sure it's time. We never forget our last dog, never. They all keep that place in your heart and the memories are still there. But seeing the joy of another rescue and living that happiness with them, adding more new memories, it is so worth it. And as you say we get benefit too from that companionship. It's win win.
Thanks for sharing Tori, not enough people talk about this subject and anxiety, which is why I felt compelled to leave a comment on this video. Its the worst feeling in the world and not something I've ever had to deal with until recently and the last several years, as throughout my whole life up until then I'd never had any anxiety or nervousness and was just pretty confident in general in all situations. However I have had full on panic attacks in the past, not so much these days, but I've been in the supermarket alone for example and started having a panic attack and had all those physical symptoms you mentioned and some times just had to leave my shopping and walk out. Its a horrible feeling and before I experienced it for myself, likely in the past if someone had said to me they were having anxiety, I'd likely of just said, oh your being too soft and too sensitive or something like that. Because until you experience it, you have no idea at all what it actually feels like. I still have anxiety today some times but thankfully not so much the panic attacks.. Not sure why it starts for most people. I know why mine did however... Not sure if it will ever fully leave me now either? Just have to deal with it I guess.. That Monkey brain chatting away is sometimes very difficult to shut up! Anyway thanks again for sharing, I think it's good if more people share their experiences and talk about the topic.. Because sometimes you might look at someone and think that they are so outgoing and confident and all that, but in reality you don't know what they have been dealing with or how they were feeling...
That’s right, it’s not at all about being soft it’s a real physical thing, and it has different causes for different people. I think you definitely can get over it or improve it so much you hardly notice it does take a lot of work and can take a long time though. Worth it of course to feel like we are back in the drivers seat 🙏
@missnancysdayoff Your right, I just never knew before and would of probably just dismissed people for feeling "anxious" before.. As I'd never felt that way myself. But you learn when you experience these things for yourself.. So now I would say something completely different now if someone told me that..
I don’t think we ever can really understand something we haven’t felt, we can still be kind, but until you’ve experienced those feelings we can’t really know. I think tnat what makes it extra hard dealing with things like depression, anxiety etc. if you have a broken leg people can easily sympathise, but they just struggle to understand mental health things. It gives you a different perspective for sure.
@missnancysdayoff Indeed we should always try to be kind and sympathise with others.. Certainly learnt that more myself as I got a bit older and wiser.. Hope your well anyway.. 🙏
Thank you for sharing the trip, the weather and river views were great. Good to see how to use a paddle board, I won one (worth £600) a while back, still haven't unpacked it - shame on me! Sorry to hear about your anxiety 😞 I have experienced panic attacks - you feel like you are going to die the first time you have one, as they hit like a bolt from the blue! After the first you are always on first alert for any of the subtle symptoms, which is what you allude to in the video. Getting outside as much as possible in my free time has been a great help for me, and I guess for you too. Tori, you mention dogs knocking your cameras - the Universe is at play here, surely 😉
I’m glad you liked it! Sounds like it’s about time to get that paddleboard out 😅that’s it, the first time i had one i literally thought i was dying it was nuts. Then you get really paranoid every time you feel a bit off. I’ve come a long way from there thankfully, but still a real struggle sometimes. I do think getting outside can heal most things, I’m glad you find it so. Ha es the dogs are saying quit your filming and live in the moment!
I used to live near the river wey, fished it when I was a kid, was murky then. I can relate to the anxiety, I never used to have a problem, recently though things in life changed. It's not easy to deal with, but being in nature helps. Shame I didn't do something about it today.
I wonder if it is more murky now, i fear it is 🫣 anxiety is a strange thing and can definitely crop up at any time. I’ve not being doing so great about getting out into nature either, but i try to remind myself that everyday is a new opportunity to do it.
I suffered with anxiety and Fear when I was younger and if I had to travel anywhere alone Or with friends I Was just a Hot Sweaty mess and shaking, it almost destroyed me. Now I am older and totally over It now and can Go anywhere singing my head off and skipping down the road. I was told that it was a sensory overload and the brain was shutting down and numb, I am so strong and confident now and feel that I won the battle In my Head and you too will Win the Battle in your Head too💪💪
@@missnancysdayoff You will also Triumph Nacy, I look back and realized it was just a moment in my life and you will too. It will make you stronger and you will have the Strength of a Lioness, fight through It and Win - I would have you In my team any day because you are a Winner 🏆. Never Never Never Give Up 💪💪
Having panic attacks and anxiety is completely normal after going through a trauma like loosing Ms Nancy, and doing something like relaxing on the river is the best way to deal with it.
Well done for not giving up and going home when you started feeling anxious. ❤
thank you ☺️
What a beautiful little adventure, anxiety is such a pain, when I am healthy and happy I forget it evert exists, but when I am stressed and tired and pushing myself it loves to make everything difficult.
Being by water is perfect. So soothing x
So true x
Great video once again Tori and that lovely smile of yours is coming back as well. Dealing with anxiety is hard but you seem to have great ways of dealing with it. Look after yourself and sending you a big virtual hug. Look forward to your next adventure.
thank you ☺️
Very calming video Tori. That paddle board is a cool piece of kit too. Look after yourself and look forward to the next adventure.
Thank you!
thank you for this relaxing adventure and the great message of trying to take care of oneself 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it!
I only recently discovered paddleboarding and I find it sooooo relaxing. Thank you for your honesty and openness in the face of great difficulty. Happy paddling :)
it is once you’ve got the pumping over and your out on the water suddenly peace sets in and it’s so lovely ☺️
I think it’s a great idea you won’t regret it and once you get into the swing of things I am sure it can only help. happy paddling and ☺️
Good morning 🌅, Lovely to see the English Countryside, it is a great shame that the river are so polluted now, when I was a youngster I would go swimming in the rivers with my friends, I am now retired living in France my property as a river/stream it is very clear, the only time it gets murky is when there has been a lot of rain or storm,
Sorry to hear you suffer from anxiety , you might find listening to chillout music, or meditation bells or bowls, where they chant, I hope you find some enjoyment and relaxation and relaxing journey on the river, France.
Well, the regulators can hopefully start getting some teeth (and money) back after Thursday.
some of the rivers definitely are polluted, I hope not all but I really don’t know. must be lovely living in France near the river, beautiful. I will have a look into the meditation bells thank you!
Suffered all my life but you're doing the right things getting out and about and talking about it nothing finer.

Great choice of opening music ❤

You've inspired me to get my paddle board out and go down to the local lake !!
That’s excellent! It’s s nice out on the water, sometimes seems like a faff to get ready but it’s worth it ☺️
Water and grounding helps so much. I have taken some soup lessons and will take another one. Thank you f your video
Blimey, Cornwall to Surrey. Living the high life. Looking forward to seeing you with another Dog , all in good time. I find my dog soothes away all troubles and stresses with their calm nature. Perfect if you suffer from Anxiety.
they really do, just having them there with there sweet faces and the way they live in the moment is so relaxing and calming.
Namaste. 😊❤
It’s so easy to feel that way, but no I reckon lots of us are freaky like that 😊 thank you! 🤩
Nice slow video (good for the soul). God, I miss summer already ...
Glad you enjoyed it 😊 I am actually glad it’s getting kind of grey and wet, not sure what that says about me 🫣
I love getting outdoors - so calming and yet fulfilling.
I do enjoy your posts - I always look forward to watching them and hearing you r meaningful comments.
that’s sounds wonderful, i think I could do with some long walks. filter the whole waterway 😅 that is a good suggestion!
Great video and a great message to those struggling.....doing something positive is progress x
Absolutely! thank you x
I 100% agree with you, many times I plan days out but I talk myself out of it after waking up, when I actually get out my stomach, chest and head gives me a nausea feeling. So well done for achieving your day out
It’s so easy to talk ourselves out of it, i do it all the time, i try to take each day as a fresh chance 🙏
I live not far from there. Nature, sunshine and music perfect video to watch. Since I have lived off grid my mind, health and love of life has skyrocketed. Food as you say is very important ❤
Thank you ☺️ Living off grid that sounds great so glad it’s had such a positive effect for you, one day for me hopefully!

This time of year is amazing.
I’m glad you liked Miss Nancy, I don’t want her getting left out it’s her channel after all 🥰
Seems like you were very "mindful" of what you were experiencing and how you were feeling. Thanks for sharing that with us and being so open!
❤️
Thank you ☺️ that sounds like a good tip for paddling a few people mentioned a similar thing! 🙏
This is so inspiring ❤️ I live near the Wey navigation and we used to go cray fishing a lot. 👌🏼🙏🏻💜
Thank you!
@@brettclark3954 i am so glad! 😌 and you’re totally right, i don’t think we ever regret just doing something and living life!

What a great video 😊
Thanks for your inspiring video myself and my dog Rex are off to see the Donkeys at Sidmouth today.

I suffered from anxiety too, but not panic attacks
Haha thank you, not sure about no question but it wasn’t too close a call 😊 thankfully I’ve not had a panic attack for years, the lifestyle of my 20s did not help with that but I’m pretty clean living now! Anxiety does come and go though it sucks.
That was a beautiful location and video. You put into words a subject I found difficult to when I suffered with both depression and anxiety.

Thank you 🙏 I am so glad the video are calming for you and I hope that your recovery is smooth☺️ ❤️ x
been watching a bit of your journeys here and there and i must admit i can relate with the anxiety especially of late lost a job after 10 years and found myself having a massive panic attack to the extent i ended up slumping out of my car door just to alert anybody i needed help .... now self employed and its been making an appearance every now and then seems to like when im stuck in traffic (yeah thanks 😂)... but going from this vid im definitely going to spend a bit if time outside rambling around the norfolk coast .
that sounds awful, it really can feel like you are dying, I hope things are a bit better for you now. a traffic jam is not where you want that popping up either! rambling round the Norfolk coast sounds like the perfect thing to me ☺️
I watched this yesterday, I was going to write to you then but seeing your heartfelt loss, hit a spot that you will understand. ❤
Dylon sounds very special ❤️ I truly won’t ever forget Nancy, although I hope it becomes less raw some day. i do want to get another dog when I can, it is such a pure relationship and I miss it all so much.

thank you i am so glad you liked it 🙏
So sorry to hear of your loss.
A video of great beauty. Thank you.
Thank you too!
Glad to see you like sup boarding. I do too. The trick is to have the paddle slightly twisted towards the board when pull from front to back. This sends some of the water under the board which keeps you going straight. A bit difficult to explain but give it a go. You’ll soon be pulling on your dominant side most of the time.😊😊😊
Ok this I need to try net time i am on the board thank you! I got a crippling should pain from paddling one side too much 🫣☺️
Hey nancy , great video . Keep up the good work
awesome thanks, glad you found us!
Thank you!. I am so glad that you have recovered, it’s like you say at first you really think you are going to die, and gradually you just start to find a way through ☺️
@@missnancysdayoff I hope you'll be well again soon. Just don't rush it 🥰 Stress never helps 🙂

Tori there is a great little spray call rescue remedy that calms the mind and it is great stuff, been around a long time and people swear by it
yes! I’ve had this before, need to look it out and remember to use it ☺️
@@missnancysdayoff it will calm your thoughts when needed, but it better not relax you too much as then you wont make content and that will make me need to take a whole bottle of it lol
Lastly, and you may already know this, but Viles disease in rivers and canals is a real thing that anyone doing this sport needs to be fully aware of the symptoms as it can be very dangerous when you're swimming, or indeed just in contact with the water.
thank you! I will keep that in mind, thankfully I’ve never had a problem yet but I do know people who have been ill from rivers 😖
Okay rant over.😅
I do hope you continue with your mindfulness practice and I keep my fingers crossed that your anxiety will settle down.
Of course harvesting breast milk from others species that is produced purely and solely to grow there babies into big fat calves makes sense and isn’t at all disturbing 🫣
Thank you ☺️🤗
@@missnancysdayoff 'sea may also be full of raw sewage but at least them is more of it to dilute it' 🤣🤣 that's true!
sorry to hear you're feeling like that. Its tough.
Thank you ☺️
I’m really looking forward to when you at some point, put out a video, and say you’re ready to get another dog.
Honestly me too, there is nothing else i can think of that i look forward to like that ☺️
I wholeheartedly agree with this. It’s a special gift to give, and also to receive, and I can’t wait to experience it again.

Sound good to me! ☺️❤️
@missnancysdayoff P.S. like the music track at the start of the video.. The "Dead man walking"...
Thank you for sharing the trip, the weather and river views were great. Good to see how to use a paddle board, I won one (worth £600) a while back, still haven't unpacked it - shame on me!
Sorry to hear about your anxiety 😞
I have experienced panic attacks - you feel like you are going to die the first time you have one, as they hit like a bolt from the blue!
I love the wild life....... 🦆🦆
I suffered with anxiety and Fear when I was younger and if I had to travel anywhere alone Or with friends I Was just a Hot Sweaty mess and shaking, it almost destroyed me. Now I am older and totally over It now and can Go anywhere singing my head off and skipping down the road. I was told that it was a sensory overload and the brain was shutting down and numb, I am so strong and confident now and feel that I won the battle In my Head and you too will Win the Battle in your Head too💪💪
I am so glad you triumphed over it! 😊
