If the Torx-head screws are rusty, it is easy to think that a T-15 bit will remove them. It won’t, but it will strip the internal Torx socket heads so much that a T-20 bit will not work, and it is very difficult to remove them with pliers or anything else. Even though the battery in the fob tested good, I replaced it with a brand new battery and now it works. 2013 X5.

Can some one tell me where these things actually fail. Does the plastic warp at the O ring or does the actual body have hairline cracks or is it the fitting , coolant lines to the plastic housing? Dont think ill be putting an OEM. I think Ill try an aluminum aftermarket housing.

Your video has given me hope to get around a big service bill. My Z has not been driven in about 5 years. Last serviced 4/4/19 and ran beautifully. Soon after, I began a series of 9 major surgeries lol unrelated to my Z. Still need another back surgery. But I want to get this Z running again. I tried to start it recently, but battery was dead. I got a new one and besides the belt screaming, the brake lights stayed on. I keep the battery unplugged while I search for solutions. I watched your awesome video and found what looks like 2 dried up grommets on driver floor board. I'm trying to order the grommets, but haven't found them yet. I'm a girl, my husband died suddenly and unexpectedly so that's where I am. I'm gonna look to see if you have a belt screaming video.

I did this on my 06 vibe gt. Tips: no need to remove ac compressor. Use oem gasket on timing chain tensioner or buy gasket from toyota dealer. If you break the nut or round it on ur belt tensioner u can use a c clamp to compress the piston and not have to replace the tensioner.

Not so sure about the battery being the problem. When cranking, its normal for the voltage to momentarily drop to 10-point-something volts. If it goes less than that, and most likely way under 10v, it shouldn't. I'm having the same intermittent cranking on my 2008 L320 and forum experience is that it's most likely the starter solenoid beginning to fail. That's my starting point.

Jamie, thanks for sharing this video! the funny thing I've just ordered a new latch from an online spare parts store and it appears to be shipped from Texas to me in Saudi Arabia 😂, probably if your ML waited 4 years you'll get the spare part sooner 😂. I just want to fix it ASAP as it drained my main battery overnight, also I've bought a new battery but I'm not going to install it until i make sure everything will be good to go!
