I can only imagine what that was like. I left as a second generation JW back in 2009. I had not spouse or kids. I stepped away from my family due to drama alone. I had no support but I'm blessed that I made friends very easily. What hurt me... I was aimless. I didn't know my purpose anymore I started studying philosophy through Jordan Peterson. (yeah I know) I read Martin Luther Kings sermons, A knock at Midnight and the Strength to Love which is my favorite book! These people inspired me that humans were mostly good. I dedicated myself to helping the people around me. I dedicated myself to challenging myself to make my career the best I can. I went back to school in 2021 thanks to reimbursement for my company. I know I will be an engineer. That's my purpose. Find your purpose too.

When I think of a cult, I guess only consider one factor in trying to define whether it is or isn’t. That is, how free/painless is it for someone to leave? I had no idea it was this difficult for JWs to leave their religion. I grew up Mormon, and while there is some difficulty in leaving, it seems far far more difficult for JWs. I’m glad you were able to come to a knowledge of the truth, and even more glad you were able to do it with your family. God Bless.

I love your experience and i am grateful for your sharing your experience, however your can't say the elders made you am apostate. No one can make you do anything. You yourself choose to be one. Own it 👏👏 Also, that elder who broke down crying on your couch, he is a victim himself of an abusive cult, it may have been his only safe space to talk and he wanted some compassion. I hope you at least made him a cup of tea. Hurt people hurt people. End the cycle and be the bigger person

Thank you for sharing what a emotional story there are so less woman who shares the story there are my daughter what’s the first who doesn’t want anyone a jw on here 14 e aged and I respect her decision. In 2018. She wanted to live now and do nice things. Than my husband he was a servant he don’t want anything anymore stop being whit meeting. So I think I don’t want in paradise Whiteout my husband and daughter. And I have been inactive from 2019. In 2024 came the documentaire named van God los in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 they showed child abusing and how they handled that’s sort of things I was shocked. Than I read crisis of confidence from Raymond franz. That was my decision to finally quit eternally ❤️

Something to note is when the first president of the Watchtower Corporation C T Russell was preaching Pyramidology through his magazine Zion's Watchtower and his book(s) , he proclaimed himself a true worshipper and faithful slave to Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ. Through this nonsensical theology he proclaimed that Jesus took to his heavenly throne in 1874 and that 1914 was likely the year of Armageddon and yes he made money from these publications particularly after his public speeches . True Christians are to listen carefully to what people who claim to be Christian preachers, to see if their teachings are inline with what the bible says and how Jesus himself instructed. If they are going beyond was written or given to say, they are false prophets/profits $$$ and to be shunned , disfellowshipped from association. 1 John 4:1 ....... Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Adherent true Christians should also be aware of how condemning a false prophet is in god's eyes as Revelation 20:10 says .... 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulphur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. There is NO redemption or forgiveness for false prophets , even worse people who make money from their false apostate teachings. I was brought on this religion and I don't hate JWS rather I truly love and care about their well being, I still have family in this pretentiously corrupt religion.

I don't know the exact numbers but someone wrote there was approximately 20,000 pedos in the jws pedophile database that they refused to hand over to authorities. These never got investigated by police. This is my understanding. Its a very dangerous cult for children. Protect your kids, stay away from jws. Between that and deadly blood doctrine. Yikes. Run.

I was a very active witness for 41 years , I remember the word apostate being said like a really horrible word. They are APOSTATE! Like a cuss word. When I finally woke up? I looked up the word in a dictionary I cracked up. Its just a change of opinion but the way its said? It's like your for sure going to die! Geez. Lol

Is it any wonder why some Jehovah's Witnesses leave Jehovah? So did Adam and Eve rebelled. Was Jehovah a bad parent? GENESIS 3:6 So did Jehovah's own chosen people betrayed Him. DEUTERONOMY 7:6 / PSALMS 78:40-41 So did Judas betray Jesus. Was Jesus a bad teacher? MATTHEW 27:3 So did many Angels leave heaven. Is heaven so bad? JUDE 6, REVELATION 12:9

You may decide to ask a friend to be a moderator for your channel. I did that for another exjw channel for a year and a half. A moderator can answer simple questions.... perhaps questions that you've aleady answered before. And a moderator can alert you if there is a time-sensitive or urgent post. A moderator can direct a person to one of your videos that answers a particular question. I'm starting a very small Bible study group, so I'm not moderating any youtube channel currently.

God has saved you. It happened to me and many others. Holdfast to the truth of the Bible and don't lose sight of the book of John. Just don't use the nwt. Many excellent word for word from Greek and Hebrew translations include NASB 2020, and the New Living Translation, and the ESV. Let the Holy Spirit guide you, just as it is written. We worship in Spirit and Truth, not needing any human to teach us anything but only the Holy Spirit Himself and true scriptures. Keep going, and holdfast to Jesus as He is the way., just as it is written. Please don't give up on Him x

36 years ago - after 15 years serving the WTS - I was praying and had a real awareness that Jesus Christ was so much more than I had been taught (that he was the Archangel Michael - do they still teach that?). I just knew that I had encountered Jesus and he very quickly led me to another bible translation I had in the house and spoke to me from it. It was amazing and I’ve never looked back. I disassociated very quickly and after listening to many testimonies recently I realise just how fortunate I was - I didn’t really have a ‘waking up’ period but went from a deep sleep to being totally awake all in a few hours. My husband never joined the JW’s and my children were just 13 and 10 at the time so I didn’t lose family members but of course I lost friends. It’s wonderful to see so many people leaving these days, probably due to all the online information. I would love to see my old friends again even after all these years. Thank you for your story, it was really interesting.

Wow! can't believe the elders said you should pioneer just because you didn't have a job! Encourage you maybe but say you HAD to. That's outrageous. Wow; was your congregation somewhere most of us might consider as 'rough;? and therefore lots of members from rough families because the way that elder behaved by pushing you out when your child was being noisy was OTT. some of what you say is based on the congregation and one can't judge a whole religion on the behaviour of one congregation as humans are very fallible and some congregations go astray - just saying. Not saying that you are wrong about the organization just saying how certain people are in a congregation isn't in itself a good way of judging a whole religion. But child abuse in the organization wow I found out about that maybe a year ago, I had no idea and it is so shocking; not that it happens but how the elders weren't stopping it or protecting children.

Neither do we look alike, eat alike, or speak alike. But there is something that marks Christians outwardly. What is the distinguishing mark of the Christian community? It is gospel love-unfettered, abounding, sacrificial, giving love.

Happy to hear about all you want to share. Its great that you are thinking ahead for what you can share with your kids. Its hard as a parent to get across all the life lessons they can benefit from. If you make these videos, they can learn the lesson without you coming across to them as lecturing, because that never works. Its always beneficial to fully process all the things that are bothering you. It helps to realize that you were learning from negative experiences, its part of the life journey & let go of any blame for making mistakes. Its the secrets that cause fear, not the truth.
