Giving reassurance and practical advice is, indeed, highly important. I'm so thankful many have awakened and I hope millions more will! I had several 'aces in the hold' before I left and that's what helped me get through it.

Oh my goodness you guys are right… I look for your new videos every day I’m completely out my husband is too but his brother is an elder our son is an elder nobody really knows yet but I love what you do please keep it coming.

Very good idea. I would also love if we could organise and have zoom meetings like from time to time, once a month or once a few months to talk about ideas how to grow and help each other.
I married someone who has never been a JW so navigating some pop culture and holidays was a bit of a challenge for me. I still dont know all of the words to Christmas songs and I remember spending hours trying to catch up on Christmas movies. I would suggest for people to indulge in these types of things. Who knows you may find you love Harry Potter, D&D, comic con and dressing up for Halloween. Try to see these things through a childs eyes and you may find you like it even more

If I could suggest one thing it would be a good quality audio, helps tremendously with listening to any content. No pressure though!
100% Charlie. It's high up on the list. We need to save a little to get 2 lav mics that will make us much clearer. Unfortunately, the cheap mic we currently use pics up lots of noise and there was construction going on the next street over. Not to mention the super echoey room. But we definitely want to record good audio and will get there soon! Promise :)

You are helping wake up many people. I agree on not focusing on the doctrine. Focusing on it is really indoctrinating oneself and that’s not the direction I personally wanna focus on. I got out to leave the dogma behind, not dwell on it. So great direction you both have decided to focus on. Thanks again.

My family left the JWs when I was 10 years old. It took me until my early twenties to overcome those feelings that I was going to suffer a hideously slow and painful death for celebrating holidays and birthdays. For Valentine's Day at school, my classmates would include me and bring a card and sometimes with candy attached for me. Luckily, my parents were not JW zealots and insist I sit in the office while my classmates had a party. I just never brought anything for anyone else and nobody ever said anything. Seared in my memory is walking home from school after a Valentine's Day party with my cards and candy in a paper bag. I knew I wasn't supposed to have them and I dare not bring them home. My JW Dad would not approve. So, I detached all the remaining candy from the cards and gobbled them down. Then, I threw the cards away in a neighbor's trash can before I got home. I remember thinking I had chosen my fate, death by Valentine's Day party. Then, thinking again, WHY did I have to die over something fun, joyful, and certainly harmless? I didn't get it. I think I was 8 or 9 at the time. Those teaching are brutal on children. What a way to be brought up and view the world.
I love the strange and crazy out in service stories and I'm always up for those demonic blue smurf tales. I'm not sure if you have any of those in Ireland but there are some pretty hilarious ones in the US.
Your experience resonates greatly. I remember attending a birthday party when I was 12 and told my parents I was just going to a friend's. I felt terrible for not bringing a gift...which I couldn't because then my parents would know. Then I felt guilty for months after, thinking I would be destroyed at Armageddon for my sins.
We also love the surf stories! We read those when we first left years ago. We don't have those exactly...but we do have a bunch of weird ones we can share :D

You are both lovely and have now become my favorite channel for recovering EXJW’s. I know you touched briefly on how to handle the situation when you are awake but your spouse isn’t and has dug their heels even deeper into the organization, but can you expand on that? How long do you wait, how much do you put up with? Is divorce the only answer? I’m in that situation now and want to move forward…I’m in limbo. Thanks so much and love to your family ❤️

Ask the ex-JW community their, funniest, weirdest and craziest stories while knocking on doors while out on Saturday morning field service. One of the primary reasons I left was, I just couldn't bring myself to do that anymore.
You can only take so much of,
disturbing people on their day off who might be drunk, angry, naked or all of the above about the good news of God's kingdom on earth that is right around the corner.
Nothing in my life made me feel more self-loathing then field service.
And my monthly hour tally reflected that. More then once I was rebuked for my lack of zeal in spreading the good news. You get the picture.
I look back in retrospect and realize it was all nothing but a big waste of time. A big FY is what got.

I remember I was excited by the GB and they said "we are so close to the end" put your foot in the door etc. Well I didn't get the signal to "leave me the f alone" and the guy just started screaming at me. Looking back I wish I still lived in OKC so I could go back and apologize to that poor guy. It really is annoying to have religious wing nuts push their doctrine in your face, I get it from the john 3.16's sometimes and it makes we cringe. They have been preaching the end of the world for 120 years and isn't it understandable for householders to see JW's as crying wolf and not take them seriously anymore. I just can't see how someone just looking at JW's could sit through a S Lett video and not just click to something else.
Steve D Exactly I remember going out in field service during the week and going out for 2-3 hrs at a time only to talk to two people because everyone was at work. Then go back on the weekends after working all week people don’t want to be bothered, they have housework, laundry, grocery shopping, kids have to chauffeured around. I got tired of wasting my time and theirs, and fed up with getting doors slammed in my face that was getting old real fast. Then have some sister or brother say they weren’t slamming the door on me they were slamming on Jehovah.

Yes, beware of Vusi. He seems to need a lot of time for his salvation card. He's on many, many ex-jw sites saying the same things. Everytime. And you can't carry on a conversation with him at all. But, if you can get him to talk, then you 🏆win! I do love him as a person. But I don't like what he's doing.

Yeah, I've begun banning him from videos. I don't mind JWs posting crap in the comments, because it IS cringe at the end of the day. But when you start spamming 10 comments at once, you gotta go lol
@@lauragubala8313 That's what so many people hope. But he's like a robot. He can't, or won't carry on a conversation with anyone. God knows I tried pretty much all last year, and I'm done now. Plus he doesn't watch the video's. He just posts the exact same thing.
I pray he wakes up though. It's up to God to guide him.

Obviously this is a very personal point. But it’s always interesting to hear about how marriages and relationships open up sexually once you realize the morality of the Bible is pointless to a certain point. My wife and I are definitely growing into a new sexual butterfly and breaking down barriers. Thank you for your videos and your story!

I think it's the most important thing to do in our short time on earth.
Most people don't though....they prefer convenience/companionship.
Why for example do the two great Christian festivals occur at the winter solstice and the spring equinox?
For the same reason as the story of "Sleeping Beauty".
It's ........drum roll for effect..........THE SUN!
Here's what they symbolism of Sleeping Beauty represents.
She is the EARTH!
When the northern hemisphere reaches the sign of Scorpio/Halloween time........darkness overcomes the earth.
The scorpion/Scorpio is the prick of the needle which sends Aurora/the earth to sleep......DURING WINTER!
However....the Prince/Sun returns at the spring equinox and "kisses" her and she comes back to life......as the earth does at the spring equinox.
JW's also celebrate the sun returning at the memorial.
First they have to wait for the sun/prince to return on March 22nd.
Then they wait for the full moon........the bride all in white........she has no light in herself but she reflects the light of her husband...the sun.
It's the "HIEROS GAMOS" in the skies above....the holy marriage....the return of the prince/sun/Jesus.
(It's also the real meaning of the marriage feast of Cana).
In the Jesus story......the sign of Scorpio/the backstabber is represented by JUDAS!
He gives the Scorpion's kiss to Jesus and sends him off to his death.....just as Scorpio does to the sun.
When you wrap your head around this way of thinking.......ALL OF THE STORIES COME TO LIFE!
We can discuss this to a degree, but we feel that there are other channels that are better equipped to deal with this broad subject. We're happy to make a few videos on it of course, but I doubt we'll come up with satisfying answers for most people. "What is truth" is almost as broad a subject as "what is life". Scholars have searched for and debated answers since the dawn of time. Appreciate the suggestion. We've added it to the ever growing list!

Could you do videos on Bible verses that made you have doubts. For example , 42 children making fun of Elijah,s bald head and 2 she bears killing all 42 children. Why not 2 bears just kill 2 children, Why the number 42 ? Is it because 6 is man's imperfect number and multiplied by 7 Jehovah's perfect number equals 42. I,m a atheist now but I find the Bible so much more fascinating now as a work of mythological fiction . Another example ,Why did Jesus disciples pull out 153 fish in their nets. The number 153 was a Greek Pythagorean magic number, 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8 all the way up to 19 equal 153. I find the same fascination in the Bible now Justin, despite being agnostic theist...though theists would call me atheist since I don't believe in god as such. I love the weird numbers and patterns that keep showing up and often thing about them. I think this would make a great series of videos. We'll add it to the list. Thank you for the suggestion :)
