  • As promised, we tell you guys where we are now in this video and where we're going in 2022...which is exciting but also frightening. But we're looking forward to it all the same.
    We want folks waking up to know that it does get better and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel...and you can reach a place where you can be free to do pretty much anything (within reason of course).
    Did you guys jump into something new shortly before or after you left? Let us know in the comments :)

    I believe we are all entitled to be angry after finding out that we have been drastically lied to. Not only lied to but then you find out all the other terrible things they have been hiding from us ( child sex abused, suicide do to shunning, blood transfusion lies and many other) that is why once and individual wakes up is hard on them. Once you get passed it it is a better life for sure. Congratulations on your wonderful opportunity and keep doing whatever you both love.

    Well, that's very exciting news and I certainly wish your family all the best in your travels. I was thinking about your comments on homeschooling and the matter of socialisation. We all I'm sure can look back as former JW's in our school years (assuming we attended public school as JW children) and know that we had very little socialisation in reality as we were suppressed from activities and socializing and having "worldly" friends. This cult separates and stagnates young ones from having any opportunities to learn social skills and experiences outside of the cult controlled domination. And now your children will have the opportunities and education that travel will bring! Happy New Year!

    My granddaughter has been home educated, and, at 11, feels that she wants to see what school is like.
    My daughter (born free, but still affected) is facilitating her entry into school.
    Home ed has been great, and my daughter has done an amazing job! Like you say, there are massive benefits to learning and exploring with your children.
    My daughter is a little sad about her daughter heading off to school (especially because her child has extra physical needs) but will always put her child's needs in front of her own.
    Happy adventuring!

    I did in fact become a drug addict. But this is because I was raised as a jw and woke up at 21. I have a huge close family and I'm the only one who has woken up so far.
    So when I lost that and went head first into the real world I had no idea how to live. I had extreme depression and I was ignorant of everything. And I was 21 and had just thrown off my shackles for the first time. I had so much built up on me that I just went crazy.
    This isn't due to me being a "worldly person" now. It's what happens when a person loses everything and the world turns upside down and you have to learn how to live all over again with no support.
    I'm now 35 and I'm just now pulling myself together and I'm lucky I survived all the mistakes I made.
    As horrible as the consequences have been I would do it all over again if I had to. Because living a lie is no life at all. Freedom is worth every ounce of that struggle.

    • @BooBooBugalugs
      @BooBooBugalugs Год назад

      I am so happy that you are finding your way through. Your journey must have been beyond difficult, but you have not given up. Your life, and your story, matter to the many who will be helped and inspired to freedom.
      Although we are ex jw, it is the religion we turned out backs on, NOT our brothers and sisters. I was born in, and I consider all of you family. That's what I was taught, and that's how I feel.
      We owe it to each other to help keep each other strong because we are family. We don't refuse to help anyone who is struggling, or try to control free expression.
      Ok, maybe some still do, but most of us have open arms just waiting for a brother or sister. The sad thing is that those who leave, or are forced out, don't know how to find us, or are too scared of us to reach out.
      I wish you all the best, my brother/sister, and I know you will continue onwards to the beautiful life that you deserve.

    Omgosh! I feel that about wanting to do something to prepare for the future and better our situation but felt I shouldn’t be preparing for a future in “this system of things.” Then there’s other brother’s and sister’s living their best lives with retirements and businesses & pioneering. What was I doing wrong? Is what I often thought. Like we shouldn’t try to have nice things in this system because we were hoping in the devi l’s system of things. My husband and I went from having retirements, home on 2 acres, I had my license for LPN, etc to living in an RV starting completely over, even with my license. The pandemic actually helped me get my license back without more schooling. But otherwise, we completely started over! My husband is still in it but our daughter and I left 7/15/2022.

    • @TheExjwFamily
      @TheExjwFamily  2 года назад +1

      Appreciate the questions :)
      Our reasons for homeschooling are many. Two major factors are that we know we can give our kids a better education...and if you know you can give your kids something better and you don't...what kind of parents would that make us?
      Second, we value freedom. Something I don't see many Ex JWs talk about...once you leave, you might have the appearance of freedom, but there are a lot of cult-like traits and controls in society.
      Not all controls are bad of course. Some are constructive, but most are destructive. We decide that we will free ourselves and our children of as many of the destructive influences as we could. We could argue all day about whether the education systems of the planet (public and private) are destructive. But we made our decision.
      How we mange it? With lots and lots of preparation. But that's a video in and of itself. Maybe we'll make that one some day.
