If a genetic analysis of your thyroid nodule was used in order to a...
Thyroid Nodule Producing Symptoms While Swallowing for Thyroid Nodule Video
Просмотров 49 тыс.6 лет назад
Thyroid nodules usually produce no symptoms. However, because of a thyroid nodule’s location in the neck and their size, thyroid nodules can produce symptoms effecting swallowing. Some common complaints, if symptoms exist, include a sense of something that needs to be swallowed, feeling like there is “something there”, as well as a sense that some foods may be more difficult to swallow than oth...

Просмотров 32 тыс.7 лет назад

In this video, Dr. Clayman explains that a vocal cord nerve can become temporarily paralyzed uncommonly and you may experience hoarseness, but you should not lose your voice. Radioactive Iodine After Thyroid Cancer
Просмотров 35 тыс.7 лет назад
Radioactive iodine is a common treatment for thyroid cancer after the thyroid cancer surgery. We take advantage of the fact that the thyroid gland needs iodine to make thyroid hormone. In this video, Dr. Clayman discusses when to consider radioactive iodine in the treatment of thyroid cancer. Most of the common thyroid cancers will take up iodine just like normal thyroid cells. When you take a ...
Increasing Thyroglobulin After Thyroid Cancer - Why and What to Do
Просмотров 16 тыс.7 лет назад
In this video, Dr. Clayman discusses that an increase in thyroglobulin is just a number but it requires further evaluation. Thyroglobulin is a protein made by thyroid cells and your thyroglobulin level may fluctuate over time. Different laboratories may also have different results for thyroglobulin so comparison of the numbers may not always be reliable. If not all of your thyroid was removed d...

I've been watching a few surgical videos to understand what will be done if I need a thyroidectomy (waiting on biopsy results currently) and this one shows all the structures like the parathyroid glands and nerves most cleanly. Thanks for the upload!

I had the pleasure of having This wonderful Doctor remove one of my thyroid in Houston Texas. 12 year later 70 years old no problem.
Wow very good video.Amazing complexity. Thanks for showing this.
I am having this with possible isthmus removal. Along with separate procedures of salivary duct dilation and possibly salivary glands removed. Videos like this are comforting.
Why do you have to sacrifice the nerve , why not perform a r1 resection and radioiodine after in a bid to save the nerve
I had a dissection from the left side of my neck last week for further biopsy as the original biopsy was not enough to determine which lymphoma I have. It was painful and 5 times I needed more local anaesthetic. I was there for nearly 3 hours, so took longer than expected and they could only manage to take a large sample as they said it was too risky taking the whole thing as it was too close to all the nerves in my face, as my lymph node is quite high up just under my ear. I am 4 days post op, still swollen and bruised, but the pain is minimal now, as long as I don't accidently touch it, but I still can't sleep on my left side. It was a strange experience, I do wish they would have put me to sleep.
I wonder if this patient had hurtle cell carcinoma.
I had thyroid cancers. Had the complete thyroid removed in the DFW area. It’s been about 8 yrs. I had radioactive Iodine treatment. About 6wks later I was still having vocal issues. I could talk but within a few minutes I would lose my voice. After about 1yr I was still having the same problem. I was referred to voice therapy. It was helpful. But to this day, if I need to talk slightly like in a family group talking, my voice gives out. It becomes a strain to talk. My voice sounds hoarse. BUT, I haven’t had cancer reoccurrence. 😊
What happens if you cannot take NSAIDs? (I had gastric bypass surgery 5 years ago)
Listen to this clown nothing to worry about Eye right chocking in my sleep cutting oxygen off to my brain 😊
That’s what I wanted just 1 whole surgery. I wanted my surgeon to send to pathology we home removing the right to see if left needs to be done. It’s all a money maker for doctors who want to go back in a second time. It should be a 1 and done
I m feeling tightness in my neck nd my insesion area.. After weeks of surgery.. No swelling... Please help me
My ma has to get this done today, shits got me all worried dawg last time she had a surgery she needed a blood transfusion
Amazing talent and knowledge
I had total thyroidectomy in November 2023, but in july found more spreading to lymph nodes so in august 2024 i had 4 cancerous nodes removed from neck dissection. Painful but next plan is for radioactive iodine in october after i'm done healing from this.
Just amazing surgeon are so really really smart unbelievable the stuff that they know even to learn is just it's a miracle that they can do this stuff I have such the utmost respect for all these surgeons thank you

Inconclusive biopsy with a highly suspicious 8 points, sent out for genetic testing. I'm stressed out
Hi, Can you share what was your result? I have TR 5 highly suspicious 7 points. Atypical fna result. Rescheduled for repeat biopsy in December and genetic testing would be done if I end up with atypical again. Stressed that it’s going to take 3 more months for my results.
@@aiswaryaravikumar4736 afirma came back as inconclusive also, instead of a repeat my endo referred me to an ENT and I'll be getting my right side removed next week.
Would’ve been nice if he let the dr. Speak thoroughly without interruption
How true is it that all people with goiter will turn into CANCER?
Beautiful surgery
Thanks
I had a central and left neck dissection with my TT. I was in the OR 12 hours. These are tedious surgeries requiring exceptional skill.
I had surgergy 7 years ago and for the longest it has been under 0,040. For last six months it has increased to 0,050 is that a serious thing?
i hate when professionals say low and high... what about saying less than 10, more than 5... as a pro you can always illustrate the trends and comment worries or not....

My voice has never been the same since thyroid cancer surgery. It feels like a hand is around my throat pressing it. Whilst I’m fortunate to have a voice it’s somewhat difficult due to the constant pressure. The extraction sight became infected with golden staph and swelled up so much that the incision sight is obvious. I wonder if the swelling had anything to do with the damage to my voice. The surgeon also damaged my parathyroid gland. To anyone considering having this surgery I would suggest they think long and hard. Please research extensively before going forward with the total removal. What they don’t tell you is that if your body doesn’t utilise the synthetic thyroid hormones as it did your naturally produced hormones you may well experience chronic exhaustion for the remainder of your life, massive weight gains and many symptoms that are usually associated with menopause. ❤
This level of nearly blood less surgical field with meticulous dissection skill...🙏
My TG is increasing feom 0.7 to 0.1 ... should i worry....i did full throdictumy 2 yr back
say the doctors almost 80 percent of people have a thyroid nodule if the result of ultrasound are benign Tirads 1 nothing to worry if you have thyroid nodule that benign thy called that overgrowth of the thyroid no treatment just monitoring if the nodules change size it cause throuble swallowing ask your doctor give medicine to shrink meds are radioactive iodine if hyper if cause of hypo levothyrosine . important is the t scan monitoring every year
It is a very clean surgery....🙏
Are hormone producing nodules less likely to be cancer?
OMG
I lost my voice after thyroid surgery it's now 4months I pray that my voice will came back soon 😂 I'm tried of hoarse voice
How's your voice now? Is it back or still hoarse?
There's a chance of cancer developing again on the other gland so my Dr. Decided to take the whole thyroid out so I didn't have to go again in the future, potentially.
This is actually not true … you have no more or less chance than any other person … I’m sorry your doctor told you differently
Going again would only have been the other half of the surgery. Having the whole thing taken at one time was more risky.
How are you now
@laurenmarie8910 plz reply how are you now
A nodule can be small. Why would you take out half the thyroid if the biopsy was benign? Why not just take out the tiny nodule? What happens to weight when half the thyroid is removed? Could this removal of half or all of the thyroid for a nodule make the patient dependent on thyroid medication for the rest of their life? Taking out half or all of the thyroid for a benign nodule sure sounds like doing harm which is against the Hippocratic Oath.
no need treatment a benign thyroid nodule atleast no difficulties in swallowing in breathing
very difficult decision when you cut RLN
Hi everyone, may I please ask what is the name of that thyroid app please, I ended up downloading the Teledoc I don't think that's what am looking for, thanks.
4 1/2 months out of having a total thyroidectomy and I lost all my singing voice and even just speaking rather than getting better seems to be more and more difficult. It is an effort to speak and the voice goes out is very horse and is not pleasant to listen to. Why does it appear to be getting even worse rather than healing and getting better ?
Great role play, but sorry, no academy nods on this one. Stick with yer day jobs.
Hay just had thyroid lebectomy surgery on my left side and I guess I'm looking for aftercare information and you mentioned an app that I may use but I need to know where I can find that
The Dr. is so.patient and thorough. The other guys asks him somthing and doesn't let him finish! It's like he's rushing him. In trying to clarify, I feel there is no need , we can follow the Dr's explanation well.
but you're just slicing away here how do you reattach all these things?
Can some please explain if there is a growth that is not cancer why can’t they just shave off the growth? Why do you need to remove half of the thyroid?
Because they are old fashioned and treat it like they did hundreds of years ago! Now there are better treatment options like ablation!
Same
had a partial thyroidectomy about 3 weeks ago now and my voice is still hoarse. I’m worried I hope it recovers I’ll be seeing my ENT next week.
My family got 2cm thyroid nodule diagnosed. Heart beats normal. Doctor said not much to worry for now. So, we researched and made some hypothesis. One month later, it disappeared. What we assumed and did Leaky gut, autoimmune reaction. We did ABC. A// Stopped gluten. Stopped oatmeal. B// improved digestion, eg some ginger in meals C// Gut health and healing. Bone broth, the good one. Probiotics eg Yakult, and G-Niib. Every situation is different. FYR only.
