If a patient had a total thyroidectomy, had 3 lymph nodes removed. (benign) 4 years later after their thyroidectomy is it possible the cancer had spread to the bones, particularly the arm?
Unlikely. Had total thyroidectomy in 2006 (pathology came back malignant) along with taking out a couple suspicious lymph nodes, then radioactive iodine pill, annual bloodwork thyroidglobulin test. No problems at all. Seems surgery and treatment was successful.
hello - i have poorly differentiated metastatic carcinoma that they found when doing surgery on my solid variant papillary thyroid cancer for which they removed 69 tumors many of which were positive for cancer. it had invasively spread into the blood vessels and obviously lymph area. it was a successful surgery and after rai high doses i got better eventually or so i think i did. my abdomen has been hurting and i got a ct scan yesterday and it is showing a hypoattenuating lesion in my liver and my tsh which was always supressed to below 0.1 is now suddenly in a month time frame high 5. they dont seem to be worried but i am and i havent had a thyroglubin check in over a year. not sure how i should approach this because i do go to a good facility i think MSK. thanks for your time and advice.
If you feel that you need to see a doctor then go see a doctor you know your own body.I just had a thyroidectomy 9 days ago for papilery thyroid cancer and spent 4 days in hospital I hope you get better soon as I know it's not pleasant but know that your not alone
@@mrwhitelivesmatter6841 good luck to you I hope you feel better. I had a neck dissection and tt as well and didn’t do so well in the hospital for 12 days during the beginning of COVID it was horrible. I hope yours is gone forever best wishes!
Doctor Kanayo Peterson's RUclips channel is forever etched in my memory, I wish to thank you for helping me relieve my hiv and aids symptoms with your herbal medicine for two weeks. Through you, I became hopeful that I could live again.
Sounds like it had spread to your lymph nodes and was missed. My daughter had 42 lymph nodes removed and 27 were cancerous. Looks like they didn't clear the boundary nodes if they only removed 3. There are 150 or so lymph nodes in your neck. You need to find a great surgeon and endocrinologist
@@jennifermyers4938 So sorry .. Yes I also have ugly issues swallowing.. absolutely terrified of choking All year I’ve avoided all Drs .. I’ve given up hope and don’t care much anymore.. me being so sick now and it’s such a horrible time to be old and sick 😷
@@SSsmith24 please don't give up! I feel that way a lot of the time. but it is your life, if you are terrified of choking, try to find some way of getting help for that. at least for this. I don't know where you are, but I can't get any tests or ultrasound :(
@@Suvorupaofficial TY so much ur so kind 🌹 Believe it or not I just saw a new doctor yesterday he was extremely intelligent talked to me for over an hour and has ordered a bunch of test so I will see him again in three weeks to go over results of test.. I’m so grateful someone finally heard me

Possibly no if the initial diagnosis was benign.
