i do valve guide seals on my 1989 Montero every 40 thousand miles cause they dont last very long on the 3.0 i do the job with the heads on the engine it a peice of cake and can be done in 3 hrs roughly

Just a thought for you any anyway one else who is interested , caravan are painted white for a reason , ie to help with being cooler in a confined space , black is fine but as you noticed it’s hot inside . Nice build by the way , I’m considering to build one that will go on a box trailer , roof tops are to much for my dodgy knees to climb , awesome build mate well done.

Idk man did you time the injector pump right that doesn't sound like air or a diesel leak to me sounds like the timing is off...I have a VW 1.6td in my Suzuki samurai and it ran like this because the pump timing was off a little I retimed it and it was running smooth as butter after that...

What for carb

For those contemplating a wood framed RTT instead of aluminum extrusion, you might consider using a planer/joiner to square up the edges of the frame for a cleaner fit. You can also inlet the frame for low profile weather stripping. (It will last far longer if it has some room to squish without becoming paper thin.)

great work, I am about to do my valve cover gasket and lifters on my 89 v6 montero. I have that nasty lifter tick. can you do the valve stem seals without removing the heads?

i took everything off re did my timing belt and i can not get the timing cover back on , on the driver side
