Wow, nina have flex muscles, unlike other female in tekken who have slightly muscles
Your tekken analysis series has been recommended to me recently after searching videos of tekken 4 and as a long big time fan of tekken i fully agree with how "tekken 5 is a powerful one but not a strong game" Ultimately what saddens me the most between the regression from T4 to T5 is not even the game itself but how the fans remember it. It feels like everyone is a closed door on their opinion of T4 and only label it as the blacksheep or other harsher words criticising it off of word of mouth but not for its design elements and story Meanwhile 5 is remembered fondly as the perfect game with no flaws despite the noticable ones and the funny thing is at the end of the day both games are among my favourites and i guess thats why i love tekken What i wanted to say is a thank you for your tekken analysis. Your critique and praise of the whole series is wonderful and is the best on youtube and i am glad to see someone enjoy this series on the same level that i and some of us do
these are underrated as fuck, check out the psp version too
I don't know if you still read the comments here but I think I found an explanation for the fictional loading quotes at the end. It also ties a lot into the lyrics and motifs of Zero (the song), and some elements from AC5 that it borrows. Basically, both Pixy and Cipher are Razgriz, that's why they are opposite sides of the same coin. They can never face each other, and must fight. The story of ACZ for both of them also fit the story of Razgriz (as the time of Cipher returning to fight A World With No Boundaries mirrors the Blue Dove story from AC5... And Cipher has blue wings on his livery). Pixy also returns after "dying" at the Stage of the Apocalypse alongside Cipher, as the war died down. When Pixy returns, you are right at the cusp of peace. PJ, someone who would only wish for peace and trust is destroyed by Pixy who too says he only pursues it... Why? Because he tried to destroy V2 alongside Cipher. In short: Pixy kills PJ because he hypocritically thinks him and Cipher fight against peace for no good reason, but in turn he forces Cipher to take revenge on Pixy. The reason the loading screen beforehand talks about a circle as such is because it's a cycle of violence. And technically, that's what the whole game is about. Pixy faces himself in Cipher, both now their own "Heroes of Razgriz" after engaging in the politically created Belkan War as "Demons of Razgriz" (hence Demon Lord, 666th squadron), and to realize that the pursuit of violence and extremism is wrong. When the Morgan is destroyed by his own hubris in facing Cipher, he is forced to reflect 15 years later. And he symbolically embraces a pursuit of peace by joining the ISAF or its successor organizations. Yet so, he admits that world peace may never happen, no matter how hard you pursue it... But still, he wants to try. In the song, Zero, this is reflected as the motif for Unsung War (played slightly differently) kick in triumphantly when facing the somber motif of Zero that's been heard throughout the game. Both sing of Razgriz returning as a hero in different tones. One is the extremist world view of Pixy, while one is the hopeful one he'd adopt after facing you. Maybe that's just my conjecture but I feel that makes sense. Also Pixy is Solo-Wing because he represents Tyr. Cipher taking his wings at the end is not just Arthurian or Razgriz, but also Germanic/Norse insofar that Cipher is Garmr.
Furthermore, the disappearance of Cipher is once again connected to Razgriz. Literally being the Demon turned Hero who then disappears at the end of the Blue Dove story Nagase mentions. It also works as a player parallel in a meta sense. The player becomes the hero as he ends the game.
This finally makes the ending especially impactful: Pixy is not just leaving a message to Cipher, but he's looking into the camera. Beyond the screen... He's looking at you, and thanking you, though you are no longer of the world of the game.

Your voice is amazing
Thank you for the complement.
i think i'm going to mod this into tekken 8
U gonna cover AC5 at some point?
Man his reviews are good. Love all the ace combat ones too. You deserve far more views dude.
I never played this game either, it seems a little slow for me. And any videos I see of it sorta make me want to play, but not really. More like watch videos online about it.
Music at 9:50 timestamp?
Character Select T2
If you dig PS2 era ass menu designs, check out Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. Its p. Neat.
4:32 I dont think kazuya disbelieves his mother wants him dead. More like hes laughing it off as something hes not going to let get to him. My 2 cents
Ace Combat 7 did so much damage to the lore it probably wouldve been better to just not exist. It took us back to strangereal and the gameplay was wonderful, but the story... Such a shame.
God bless Yu Miyake
damn, never seen this before
The menu here reminds me of Spider-man 2. Simpler times
I know its been a while since you made this video, but I noticed you did't mention Kuma or Josie. Did you forget about them or was their story so uninteresting that you didn't find any worthy talking points? Also, how dare you call my girl Asuka a bitch! JK but I did go "come on, man" when first hearing that. Also, also I do like Law's and Feng's endings, for no other reason than the short stint of fight choreography between the two, three if we include Paul.
Sorry. Calling Asuka a bitch was more a product of sexism than an honest opinion. She's alright, if not underutilised.
@@GizouGitai Thanks for apologizing and explaining! You are correct that Asuka is underutilized but I still love her!
It is this that would inspire me to get a copy of this game myself cause of how the emersion is strong, the music is a nice change of pace, and the developers actually care about the story, characters and lore itself, thanks man
The design language for this UI really reminds me a lot of AC3 Electrosphere. I know both AC3 and RR5 were both made by Namco, did they also have the same employees working on both games too?
In my research for ACE3 I found out yes probably. Maybe. They did a 2016(?) slideshow presentation about the fonts of NAMCO games going back to the '80s and the visual design team had stayed relatively the same. Kind of amazing.
O hell yeah, love it. Stylish minimalist retro-futurism. Wipeout from the same era had similar vibes.
Hah youtube recommended me this, and it's only 1h old. Definitely can see that my UX studies are being picked up. Thanks for the vid!
That's curious because this isn't a channel typically for UX.
@@GizouGitai Hah. Well, hope this info helps you grow your channel either way. 👍
ridge racer as a series just has such incredible presentation
The Ps2 really did have peak menu design
More obscure game streans. It's fun chatting shit
"Rest in potatoes." That's something I'll always remember

lame picture drawings of tekken 2
God these videos are so fucking good
I had just finally played and beat the game about a week ago and by god it's worth the play time. The music is by far my favorite of the series and the story is also amazing. The interviews for me are what make it more grounded to understand the themes of the game. I honestly hope they make a remaster of it so that more people play this gem of a game. Your analysis of it is still the best of it I have see on youtube and your AC4 video too. Thanks again for making a great video of this great game.
one thing I do respect is this is based on pre devil gene retcon lore of the early tekken games 1-3.....all the other stuff after ran with that but the story was better when it was simply a tale of revenge to the point somebody on death's door was willing to sell his soul to get even it was simply a story of one hateful act begets another and another until there is nothing left but a desire to destroy the other at all costs and lose whatever humanity you have in the process...it also didn't whitewash heihachi he was a bastard one that ppl love but a bastard nonetheless not some misunderstood overall good man.
Just finished all of your tekken videos loved um up! Any plans to continue for tekken 8?
Eventually. In the middle of a big project right now, and I won't want to do another long video immediately. Thanks for the interest.
Don't do it Jin
Nice thumbnail bro
I've been looking for this since forever, when I watched it as a younger person, I have finally found it, and your take on it makes it even better...
Hey there, how did you managed to get the voice lines ? Them "Kobo Ichi" quotes is so cold EDIT: Nevermind, I've already managed.
One of my fav quotes from this is "Perhaps its canonical that your team-mates are useless." Having played hundreds of hours of this game as a teen I can confirm this. Still enjoy watching this for the fourth time now. Great video even if you don't think highly of it. I know you don't ever plan on doing a video on Ace Combat 5 but I have been playing that game off and on for about a year now and its not that bad, still trash but not absolute dumpster fire trash at least like some of the later games like a certain PS4 title.
