Yes! Also my eye lids are starting to get crinkly and I think a more subtle shadow is a LOT easier to control with crazy eyelid folds etc. so overall the Alter Ego formula is going to really be easier for your average consumer not to mention the price!

😅 yeah the colors in this are just perfect but I will say, very soft dusty formula so it blends beautifully but fall out is crazy!

I definitely agree with you there! I'm waiting for there to be a fair cool toned revolution like there was for people with darker and deeper skin tones...probably not as many of us but we love makeup too!

I have not but it does look like a perfect cool pastel colored palette! I probably won't get this one just due to the large size which I just won't pull out and use but it really is very pretty!

Yes, I totally hear you on that. Dead cool eyeshadows and even lipsticks/blushes look weird on me too so I really like doing a mix of cool and a little pop of either neutral or warm on the eyeshadow most of the time so it 'settles' in and looks right on me. I think it's the red hair for me...it's coppery and warm but the rest of me is ruddy and cooler except for the freckles, those are also warm so it's a confusing mix. I love doing a champagne base shimmer color with cooler grays/browns/purples on the outside and then just to the outside of the space over my pupil a little pop of warm rust red/gold/warm purple/olive green shimmer or warm bronze/brown. I also love to use navy blue, warm reddish purple brown or green as my thick chunky wing liner just on the outside to add a little more warmer/neutral color instead of dead black.

I agree. The shimmers in the Mario pallet end up all over my face so I drift towards the Doll 10. It is my opinion that the Doll 10 shades last longer on my eyes. My biggest issue with the Mario is it doesn’t last on my eyes no matter the prep or set. I have never bought a product from Doll 10 that I haven’t loved .

Thanks Mona! Yep, definitely different formulas in each for different needs/preferences but very similar colors. In my first review of the Mario one I offered a lot of drugstore alternatives that I definitely think you can get a similar look with for a lot cheaper but they weren't exact dupes and this one just visually looks SO similar so I was so hopeful this would be it for me but not so much. 😅

@@Aimee-Gates yes, those powdery shadows really do sort of migrate off your eyes or blend into nothingness if you try to blend them too much. It kind of depends on how you like to work with shadows but I personally like to be heavy handed and try lots of colors at once and that just doesn't work with the Mario formula at all.

I definitely think it will work for fair skin and hair as there are lots of midtones in it and some nice lighter colors as well. It’s actually a pretty nicely balanced palettte that way. The darks are great for smoky looks or just as a little bit of liner.

@ Absolutely., that’s one of the perks in shopping mainstream is to play before adopting a new staple palette. If I did that with the Mario I would have hesitated before buying. It’s just so darn convenient to purchase with the click of your finger. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@cfil7970 so true...it's even worse now that I'm trying to make content based off of trying things...sometimes I just can't wait until it's in store finally to make a review so I'm not as cautious as I otherwise would be...ah well, at least if it's REALLY bad I can almost always return it here...not so much the case with indie palettes.

Just adore the lux experience of being there in person. 2025 I hoping will give brands new innovations to curate a theme palette that n has a basic design, but then allows a selection to add your own taste to integrate ethereal shimmers / speciality textures for them to create a vision of customization to build a masterpiece of a palette that has everything you could possibly desire..b❄️🌟 Wouldn’t that be the dream ?

I gotta say I had never tried indie until I started my channel and had watched a lot of beauty tubers and I’m am so pleasantly surprised at the quality compared to the luxury brands for the most part!

@ Agree . Just so spoiled as I love the entire experience , of shopping in person, trying it on, getting beauty advice from experienced reps in store, free lil gift goodies / samples ect……. Trying before I splurge, you know the high quality pampering , being so obsessed to play at home confident I made the investment type of gig. 🫦

@@cfil7970 that is so true, I kind of forget about that part being sort of rolled into the higher price because I usually only end up getting my luxury items from Sephora or Ulta or Chanel/Dior etc. online...the packaging is nice but I don't get any of the nice extras from places like Sephora that carry some luxury items but definitely don't provide a luxury experience.

Yeah, it's got some better shadows if you already have it (the Mario) but overall I still don't feel like it is worth $70

No unfortunately they don’t have Westman at my local Sephora and I wanted to swatch them to see if they were worth the $ and get the right shade. I usually do love their formulas but I am always torn on spending that kind of cash. I may have to go to our big mall in town and try it to see if it’s worth it though. I haven’t seen many people reviewing it though have you?

@ It all depends on the country where people live. I am from Ukraine and we do not have such luxury! I learn about Lisa Eldridge and other brands from you, English-speaking bloggers! Westman is more popular with our bloggers, but mainly it is blush and contour stick. I really liked the quality of Westman cosmetics for 40-year-old skin. It is expensive, but there are discounts and I really wanted to try their foundation stick and lip gloss. I do not use a lot of cosmetics, everything is minimal, so it is so nice to use all this with pleasure!

I'll let ya know if I go give this one a try but on color at least online I'm thinking I would be either N or more likely 0 with the more rose undertone but will have to go see in person when I go back into town in a couple weeks. ;-)

@@tetyanakarukovets3825 OK! I just got the lightest one 'N' and it is a great color match. I just started playing with it but first impressions is that it is a bit 'greasy' of a formula but not terrible especially if you have dry skin. It leaves a dewy finish that doesn't set down (as opposed to the dior which is more of a powdery velvet finish with more coverage) and I didn't like it until I set it with a talc powder (Maybelline Fit Me 105) and then I really liked the more matte finish with a slight sheen under it. I'm going to try it again tomorrow on it's own (I added it half way through my day when I was already a bit oily today) and I'll let you know what I think but the color N is definitely a great match for my skintone. I think '0' would be too dark even though it is a pinker undertone.

I have five ER palettes. I've never had any issue with creasing at all. I do use a primer, either Sigma or MAC.

@ Curious , as I was so excited for the Mario ethereal eyes palette, yet mine turned hard panned , so I returned it, but now I’m regretting my decision as both the Sephora gal, and others told me there were some bad batches. I watched your video and you also wasn’t impressed. What do you think? Should I try again? Can you recommend a cool toned ethereal palette ( smaller size 6-12 pan that will be the hidden gem?

@@cfil7970 I do wonder if I got one of the bad ones too. The mattes are still very very soft and powdery (no issues there) but my sparkle shades are totally hard panned already. I'm working on a quick little video comparing the Mario to the DollFace 3.0 palette which is pretty much a straight dupe minus the sparkle shades (they are more classic satin finish) that is half the price. There are pluses and minuses to both but overall I think for the $ I would recommend the new Viseart Sireneuse palette instead if you want that blue shade. I did a look in my Viseart video that is pretty much the same as what I did with the Mario palette but I liked it better. The one caveat is that I still needed to use my little Moira lucent cream shadow single at the end to get the sparkle I was looking for because none of them have enough for me!

You have my permission to apply all the glitter from here on out until after New Years! 🤣 Yes, I keep eyeing that hot pink one from Fenty too...they also came out with a limited edition swirly one that made me swoon too...
