@@karlieneporter4939 I like both palettes but for me I get a little more use out of this Huda one because ND nude skews peach and taupe and this one skews purple and taupe. They’re both gorgeous though. The shimmers aren’t as flakey in the ND but I think they are prettier and more usable over all. 😊
Ty for this thorough review and all the ideas. I did grab this at the Sephora sale and have similar coloring (I do lean more neutral than cool) to you so I’m excited about my purchase. I hope it arrives soon so I can play! I love really punchy shimmer as well on my 49 yr old hooded eyes. They make me feel pretty. 🤷🏻♀️😊 Btw, you do not look older than maybe 30. Just sayin’.

That look is so pretty on you. I'm a little darker than you but still light skin, I love her eye shadows but most of them are too dark for me, but I do have the Pretty Grunge & Rose Quartz which I love. It was prefect for the Barbie pink look. BTW what lippies are you wearing I love that color?
Thank you! And the lippie is a bit of a mix but the base is the HoneyBee Gardens shade called Paradise amzn.to/3AvsyN9 cooled down a little bit with Bite Beauty stick in Cava (discontinued sadly) and glossed with Black Cherry lip oil from Juvia's Place.
I am so on the fence about this palette. I own Pretty Grunge and am thinking this would be a companion palette, but I'm just not sure I want to splurge. Your review is very helpful. I am not a fan of "topper" shades and would never put a pressed glitter on my eye, but I thought I read that this particular glitter would break down if it gets in the eye. I still wouldn't use it.
Hmm I think you're getting very similar shimmers in the Pretty Grunge palette already so probably don't need this one for that and a lot of the purples are kind of similar. The peaches are also similar just a little darker so I think the only reason to get this if you already have Pretty Grunge is because you want a selection of lighter purple/gray crease shades. Might not be super useful for your needs especially since you're not super interested in glitter toppers. ;-)
@redgirlreviews do you think the lighter shades are close to Creamy Obsessions Greige? I've got that & Pretty Grunge, feeling like those two are good comparison
@theroyalshaman I do t have the creamy greige one but I do have pretty grunge and did some comparison swatches that I will post in my community tab. The darker shades and silver are definitely duped in pretty grunge but none of the lighter shades are at all.
I agree that this is a beautiful palette except for the glitter. One of my viewers says she likes the glitter?? I do not, but she says she uses just a little glitter glue.I have been loving the softer looks with this palette. I love VBS. I agree that this palette would be flattering for many skin shades, but with different looks! Thank you!
I saw a video that said for the chunky glitters in this palette, you have to break the pearl up first with your finger like on the back of your hand, then apply on the eyefor a wet glossy look. I don’t have the palette so I haven’t tried it, just saw that on a review.
I wanted to like this so much, but the mattes are soo warm on me, I don't know what to do with them hahaha. I opted for Mario after all because every matte in it is so perfectly neutral on my skintone, I actually feel like I will use all of them, which never happens. The Huda looks amazing on you, though!
thank you! I'm sorry this one didn't work out for you and I totally agree it really overall just isn't all that cool unless you are already very warm toned yourself. I'm glad the Mario is working out for you though! That one is definitely actually cool toned over all. ☺
@redgirlreviews Nothing to be sorry about. :) More money saved... or rather, "saved" lolll. I'm curious to see what Huda releases next. I kind of hope it's upgraded 9-pans or quads or something.
@@redgirlreviews Maybe she will give me one small purely cool toned palette...... Please Huda just one, lollll, she's been baiting me so hard with promo pics for all these years. XD
Thank you! I feel like this is one of the few palettes really made for my skin tone which is a nice change! The lipstick is tragic because it's a whole mishmosh of things including the discontinued lipstick from bite beauty in Cava. I started with Paradise from HoneyBee Gardens but it was a tad too warm so I went over it with Cava and I'm pretty sure I also did some Juvia's place Black Cherry lip oil over the top because it was a little dry.
Thank you for this great review! I decided against this palette, mostly because of that nasty glitter shade. Maybe if the company takes the feedback and reformulates or replaces that shade, I'll reconsider. I do love the color story, so it's too bad. I caved on the Mario Moonlight palette! That blue!!! I know I really poo-pooed the topper shades in the Mario palette, but I changed my mind. I watched one of his videos and now that I know he did that on purpose, it makes more sense. Look at me, being all open-minded, and trying new looks--ha ha!!!
haha! I gotta find that Mario video so maybe I can understand how to use it in a way I appreciate more! I'm so tempted to get teh Doll10 3.0 palette to compare the two since it's almost a straight up dupe but with more blues...it's still $44 though so I don't know if I can justify it but it does have more traditional shimmers which might make me a lot happier...reaches for wallet...🤣
@ No worries! I still prefer a more metallic finish, but I’m gonna give “ethereal” a go. The video I saw was simply his launch video. He said it’s about “moonlight reflecting on water” or something like that. Just tiny sparkles. ✨
Thank you for this review. I love the look of the palette and thought it would be really wearable but I am very fair and cool tone. I think these are too warm and neutral actually for me. It's always hard to tell in the advertising.
@redgirlreviews I really appreciate it. This helps me save money. I'm someone that pinks look peach on me, so maybe Rose quartz would be worth it for me.
@@pajamamama5965 I do think it was a weird move to put 2 full on peaches in an 'icy' palette rather than a couple of cool pinks or taupes? It's like she just couldn't quite do it because she favors warm tones. 😂
I wouldn't say this is the most shimmery palette in the world, way more mattes and beautiful ones at that even for my crepey lids! If you don't want any shimmers at all though, those might seem like wasted shades to be paying for.
@@JennR323 I'm going to go see. I will actually post in the Community tab some swatch comparisons for you guys. I have both the Stone Cold and Smoke and Roses and just peeking at it I see some definite similarities but none of those flakey shimmers (the 2 in the Huda - rose goldish silver and silver)
I'm glad that this one worked out for you! I'm honestly shocked that she included that eye doctor's worst nightmare of a shade. How is that remotely eye safe?? Eye injury is no joke; not only can you damage your vision, but because of the eye's proximity to the brain, any infection and inflammation can have catastrophic effects (learned this from an ex co-worker who got a grain of sand in her eye and refused to seek medical treatment at first). I actually think the mattes in this one are more successful than the shimmers. I'll stick to my Natasha Denona shimmers, her formulas aren't always amazing but I doubt she would release a palette with this kind of shade inside! I also got the Focallure palette on your recommendation, and wow creamy shimmers are phenomenal. I LOVE formulas like that: they stick to the eye and give a gorgeous glossy effect, but are still very impactful. That's what the Mario shimmers lack: a creamy base and some base pigment. I actually got the new ABH Sugar 9 pan palette and I think it's a great alternative to this one. It's completely cool toned, the matte shades are lovely (though two have glitters in them that I'm not hugely in love with, but they perform very well). The sparkly shades are very pretty, especially the blue, and you can layer them and create a good variety of looks.
I'm not a glitter girl, but a simple small, foreign body removal could probably be done by any trained MD who has the right equipment handy. Hardly a "nightmare" scenario requiring a specialist, but not something you need to experience simply because you like bling in your eye products.
Yeah, it was hard to find because it was directly in my pupil area and on it's side so hard to see and we almost missed it. With numbing it was no problem but it hurt like a bitch for 4 days before I could be seen and didn't know what the heck was wrong since I couldn't see what it was either. I agree with you on the mattes for this palette. I reach for this constantly for quick crease shades. I still need to go check out the ABH Sugar palette since I've always loved her formula except that horrible Fall Romance one...usually so soft and shimmery. I hate to say it but I'm still using my Moira single eyeshadows as final toppers on all of these though because they are just better performers!
I got the palette as I don’t have much like it within my collection. However, I’m a little disappointed in it having it in my hands. I wish I had got I Need a Nude instead. I love it and I’ll use it but I just think there are some shades that I wish had been switched out! That glitter is such an odd choice to me! For such a modern colour story it’s like putting a glitter from a 2016 Colourpop palette in there! I don’t know why brands are still putting them in palettes when I don’t think I’ve seen anybody who actually loves them! I also don’t get the gold/champagne shade and the peachy nudes. I would’ve much preferred more shimmers that fit with the rest of the palette. I think I’m being a bit harsh because I was so excited lol.
😆 I don't think Huda can make a palette without a peach shade of some sort...clearly a fave for her. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say I love glitter shades! so I don't understand why that gritty glitter needed to be in there but ok. 🤣 On the ND Nude one, if you don't want to break the bank and you're missing that color story the Lamora nude palette for $10 is literally one of the best dupes I've ever found for a palette because the formula is so good...like high end good. Anyway it's here if you want to check it out: amzn.to/48zHHtq here is my comparison: ruclips.net/user/shortsKCMNOk8CgPM
My problem with this palette is the same problem I have with the ND Róxa. Is that all the looks I have seen created in review videos all look very similar. I think this palette could easily be a nine-pan. So many shadows look similar on the eyes.
I don’t like the peach and that nasty warm flesh colour. I’m disappointed with the two darks as well and then there’s the gritty one. It’s a shame really as it the palette as pictured looks fab and it’s made in Italy which is always a plus. I have grey and silvers in the ND Xenon so over all it’s a miss for me. Loved the looks you did and the swatches.
Thanks! Yes at this price if you don’t need it I’d say pass. It’s a nice every day palette but I’ve been able to find similar shades in my other palettes. Also her shimmers are good, not ‘must have’ I have indie palette shimmers that are so much better.
I just got this. Was really excited but i was let down. Love the mattes and a couple of shimmers. That Gold Standard shade is horrible. Bling not much different. The other more textured shades migrate all over your face. :(
I do think this is overpriced for what you get even though I really enjoy the shades in this that I do like. I kinda wish it was a 9 pan and a lower price cutting out some of the glitter and that poor one Gold Standard. You’re right the flaky glitter does fall if you don’t use glitter glue but it’s pretty decent if you do use it.😊
@redgirlreviews I tried it all different ways. Plus, I have issues with the 2 darker mattes. They are patchy and hard to blend. This palette is the biggest dud of the year for me. This collection was rushed. I love the petri dish highlight. It looks like the flush you get from the cold. It's a pH thing. But what was she thinking with the very warm blushes?? I like the blush but it looks weird on my face with the palette and highlight. Lol. The lip gloss you can find in the wet n wild aisle. Sorry, this is the 1st time in years I felt really let down.
@redgirlreviews another poster said to try rubbing the shades vvs and dew into back of hand 1st. I'll try that and see what happens. I also think I'm gonna try the cold moon palette. I've been wanting to try it for a long time. I'm such a big box store shopper. Lol. The cold moon palette looks out of this world. The problem is I went over there, and now I have almost 200 worth of stuff in my cart. Lol.
@@Sandy-p4m The shimmers in Cold moon are stupid like one swipe and you're done. Much better than any of the big box store options. Tarte sometimes has some amazing shimmers (the trio they have out now for the holidays) but I can't think of anyone else that gets close to the quality of something like Ensley Reign for one swipe performance.
@@Sandy-p4m I wonder if there is a problem with different production quality between batches on these. I hated Pretty Grunge's quality but most people loved it.
You are so kind! 🥰 I just wore this again today and got such an easy pretty look yet again. This palette is super usable and reliable for gorgeous looks. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
What is that lipstick you're wearing? It's absolutely stunning.
It is a whole mishmosh of things unfortunately and some of them are discontinued like the bite beauty stick in Cava. I did start the base off with the HoneyBee Gardens lippie in Paradise but I wanted it cooler so I toned it down with the bite beauty stick and then put one of the cooler lip oils on it like Juvia's place Black Cherry. It's almost never just a straight up single lipstick with me unfortunately because I'm trying to be specific for each look.
Navy blue would be great for this palette
Agreed!
Wearing the blue from Makeup By Mario today!
@@QuickWorksBeauty perfect! It's really so pretty!
I agree
The pressed glitter takes us back to 2016😂
🤫🤣
I agree that this is a beautiful palette except for the glitter. One of my viewers says she likes the glitter?? I do not, but she says she uses just a little glitter glue.I have been loving the softer looks with this palette. I love VBS. I agree that this palette would be flattering for many skin shades, but with different looks! Thank you!
I can't imagine putting that glitter near my eye just due to the scratchiness of it! To each their own though I guess!
I saw a video that said for the chunky glitters in this palette, you have to break the pearl up first with your finger like on the back of your hand, then apply on the eyefor a wet glossy look. I don’t have the palette so I haven’t tried it, just saw that on a review.
Interesting thanks for sharing! I’ll try that next time!
@@leaflaurel true that! I am curious to see which direction she goes next for sure!
@@redgirlreviews Maybe she will give me one small purely cool toned palette...... Please Huda just one, lollll, she's been baiting me so hard with promo pics for all these years. XD
This is simply gorgeous on you. I'm ordering next week in the VIB sale. But stop! What lipstick are you wearing in this video? 😘🥰💄
@@redgirlreviews Thank you. I can totally relate - too warm, too cool, too dry, too glossy. The struggle is real! Love your vids!
Thank you!🥰
@@beckygomez9074 thank you!🥰
Thank you for this great review!
Yep that's exactly why I wanted to do this...so frustrating to have things look so different when they arrive and you've spent your money.
@redgirlreviews 😂 exactly 💯 👏
I’m 53 fair/cool toned. I like this pallet but wonder if it would be too shimmery for me.
I wouldn't say this is the most shimmery palette in the world, way more mattes and beautiful ones at that even for my crepey lids! If you don't want any shimmers at all though, those might seem like wasted shades to be paying for.
I'm 51 year old redhead cool toned n that's my hold up! I'm just on the fence I love ND pallets!
@@redgirlreviewsHow would this compare to Stone Cold Fox in similarity (minus the purplish colors)?
@@JennR323 I'm going to go see. I will actually post in the Community tab some swatch comparisons for you guys. I have both the Stone Cold and Smoke and Roses and just peeking at it I see some definite similarities but none of those flakey shimmers (the 2 in the Huda - rose goldish silver and silver)
@@JennR323 I'm going to swatch it out and try it against the Huda and put it in the Community tab because I'm curious too. ;-)
I Can’t find the Rose Quartz….I Don’t Think You Can Buy it Anymore…
😢 I know I can’t find it either sadly
That's why you have to use glitter glue, that what l use
It does help!
My problem with this palette is the same problem I have with the ND Róxa.
Is that all the looks I have seen created in review videos all look very similar.
I think this palette could easily be a nine-pan. So many shadows look similar on the eyes.
Yep I totally agree. This would make a much better 9 pan with mostly mattes and like 2 shimmers, a silver & that pretty mauve shimmer I think.
This palette is the first one I actually like but you are not the first person I've heard have issue with the quality. I'm with you on the blush too. I was befuddled by the color choices. Interesting you liked the petri dish as I've heard so much hate for it. Go figure! 😂
you are so beautiful
Awe! You are so kind! thank you! 🥰
Yeah, I will never use that gritty one. Nope!
exactly!
