The Beauty of Solitude - Croatias Highest Mountain - Dinara

Solitude and silence in the mountains can be a blessing sometimes. Climbing the highest mountain of Croatia, Dinara, Signal all alone and by myself while I travel through the Balkan on my way down to Greece and the mediterranean sea. A lot of thoughts went through my mind when I enjoyed the beautiful nature of Croatia and I realized that we can also enjoy the mountains without pushing ourselves...

My 8000er Expedition Boots To Avoid Frostbite

Climbing above 7000m and 8000 meters is extreme! Your hands, fingers, feet, toes, lips, ears and nose are the first parts of your body that get extremely cold and are prone to frostbite. In order to protect our feet we need special equipment and especially great boots for higher altitudes. I explain which expedition boots I am using for my solo non oxygen 8000er climbs to Lhotse, Annapurna and ...
Don't Be Afraid To Fail - Highest Mountain Of Sweden

Climbing big mountains or working on big projects and dreams can be intimidating and sometimes seems impossible. One of the many takeaways from my life as a mountaineer is that we can reach and accomplish our goals, if we truly desire it from the bottom of our heart and if we are courageous enough to face the obstacles. Breaking down a climb to the summit or a big project helps us to get an ove...

Why I Failed To Climb Mount Everest Without Oxygen!
Просмотров 12 тыс.3 месяца назад
My reflection on my attempt to summit Mount Everest this year without supplemental oxygen. Why did I fail, why did I have to turn around, what did I do wrong and what did I learn one month after the expedition? How do I adapt in the future learning from these mistakes in order to becomea better mountaineer and be successful on my next expedition? Will I continue to climb 8000ers and what is my ...

    War es schwer für dich zu bewerben und einen job zu finden mit der "2 jährigen" lücke im lebenslauf ? oder wird das wandern respektiert ?

    • @norrdinenouar
      @norrdinenouar Месяц назад

      Hey, prinzipiell war es kein Problem, besonders, wenn du es im Gespräch gut verargumentieren kannst, warum du dir eine 2 Jährige Auszeit genommen hast. Natürlich ist 8000er ohne Sauerstoff besteigen immer eine Aussage, die für Erstaunen und Begeisterung sorgt. Aber klar fragen sich die Arbeitgeber auch, wie lange man wohl bleibt, bis man sich die nächste Auszeit nimmt. Je nach Größe und Filterprozess der Unternehmen kann diese Lücke aber schon ein K.O. Kriterium sein und man wird möglicherweise bereits im Vorfeld aussortiert ohne, dass man die Chance auf ein Gespräch bekommen hat. Deshalb habe ich einen Headhunter den Job für mich machen lassen. Erstens, weil ich mich auf andere Dinge fokussieren wollte und zweitens, weil der Headhunter schon einen Fuß in der Tür bei den Unternehmen hat und dort für einen werben kann, wenn man eine überzeugende Persönlichkeit hat. Das ist leider das Problem am Bewerbungsprozess, die Persönlichkeit kann in einem Lebenslauf/Anschreiben nur schwer transportiert oder ungenügend dargestellt werden.

    Back in my 20's I was lucky enough to live in Hawaii. I stayed in good shape by surfing, swimming, mountain biking, and running 3-5 miles every few days. I never ran more than 8 miles at any time though. I decided to run the 1993 Honolulu Marathin and didn't train at all for it and still finished 4:04:47. You are in better shape and have way better endurance and determination than I had when I ran that race, so you shouldn't have any problem breaking 3 hours.
