This is a very nice little mountain. I recomend to carry up a sleeping bag, stove and some extra food and take an overnight in the hut at about 1880 meters and stay there over the night. Very special light and view in the late evening/night.
I hiked the summit of Kebnekaise almost 40 years ago when it was slightly higher at 2117m in July-1985. I walked several days with heavy pack along the Kings Trail (KungsLeden) from Abisko after an overnight train from Stockholm! Beautiful Scenery!
Hey Denise, these memories stick with us forever dont they? It is like a treasure chest of memories and emotions you can always open again. 1985 was a completely different time! I was born in 1987 and it seems like things were easier or well maybe "simpler" at that time in the 70s and 80s, but to be honest the freedom, flexibility and possibilities we have these days are also crazy if you think about it. Greetings!
Life is the mountain. Your great and loved your wisdom in this vid. Wow Sweden was amazing. Thanks for pumping out the vids. Hope your getting some sleep. lol
The mountains and the things we learn there are just the perfect metaphor for life. They tought me so much, I guess that is another reason why I love them so much. I try my best to upload all my old footage and produce some new fresh stuff until I can go to 8000ers again next year! And yeah I get enough sleep, even though I have to go for a run very late, since it is so hot here in Spain.
Nice to see videos from ‘the old days’ 😊. What time of year was this? Looks like spring/summer at the fjellstation. Also: did you say 21 km from the station to the summit.. so 42km round trip? Or did you make stops/sleep on the way there in your tent ? I’m from Denmark som kepnekaise is on the bucket list and also the area is beautiful
I think it was around August in 2019. From Nikkaluokta (the Startingpoint) to the Fjellstation was 21km. It is another 17km from the Fjellstation to the summit. And then all of that back again. So going from the Fjellstation to the summit and back in one day was about 55km. In total it was a 76km trip. I had the tent with me and slept one night near the Fjellstation. Denmarks highest mountain was also fun :P. Yeah, you can look forward to the Kebnekaise it was very beautiful and I can also recommend the Galdhöppigen in Norway since the Jotunheimen National Park is super beautiful!
Once again another great video. What time of year did you climb the mountain? Also, of all of the highest mountains of the different countries you have climbed to the top of to date, which is your favourite? Good luck with the job interview - I hope you can find a very flexible employer who will let you have 3 months of the year off to do your climbing and climbing preparation. Otherwise perhaps you could become a Personal Trainer or Diving Instructor and run your own business - I'm not sure if it would bring in enough money but could be an option. Also if you are not earning for 3 months of the year that should reduce how much tax you have to pay.
Thank you @roofsshower9541. It was August 2019. It is really hard to tell which one was my favourite, because they are all sooooo incredibly beautiful in their own way. If I had to decide I would probably go with Duffourspitze in Switzerland. But really all of them are beautiful if you can find a good time and climb them alone. Yeah I am pretty sure I will be able to manage the free time somehow :P I will try my best save enough money to go on an expedition again next year :D
Hi Norrdine,i'm addicted to your channel now. Just a little question for you:how can you run at 5k/6k mt.while when i reach 4k mt i see all the saints of Paradise calling my name?😂😂
So happy to hear, that you enjoy the content. Even though some footage is old and shaky :P. About the body`s adaption to higher altitudes: Going into higher altitudes on a regular basis helps. You cant keep the acclimatization but your body gets used to acclimatizing if you go up there faster. Also constantly going into the mountains aswell as running and putting your body, especially your cardio vascular system on a lot of stress improves your body`s ability to transport oxygen to your muscles. What are the mountains you climb in your area?
Thanks for answer. My mountains are Lyskamm,Cervino,Mont Blanc and others last one north face of Gran Paradiso last year but at the moment i climb lower valley cliff (Finale Ligure or Valle d'Aosta) 😎
Haha, this was a rather easy one :D You dont even want to know all the stuff I climbed alone or all the exposed walls and ridges I climbed solo without a rope! :P
Not gonna start a debate with you buddy. But the scientific evidence is there. Check out the data about Carbon 12, 13 and 14 Isotopes and how they exist on our planet. Read into it and understand the topic and then make up your mind again. Greetings to you!
