Well, Jeff Bezos said a driving factor is how cheap something is when it comes to value. Since he has a billion dollar business built on this idea I think I’d go with his view than some no-name on the internet (the guy in the video not you Critic).

I cannot believe someone said those words seriously. What he is saying is the embodiment of "Shut up and consume product then get excited for next product". It is not my job to make a product that I want and pay YOU the company for it. If that is the case I might as well just make said product myself and cut out the middleman. Fair point about multi-platform though I will add the caveat that the company made the decision to go multi-plat or to not go multi-plat so again that is not on us the customer that is a gamble the company no matter the size decided to make. We can influence what decisions these companies make, but we aren't forcing them to do anything. So if they make stupid decisions that don't appeal to the majority audience they deserve the consequences of there actions.

These products are luxuries, not needs, and we’re under no obligation to buy them just because they’re provided. Usually we stop buying luxuries when they become inconvenient. That individual has it backwards.

I would definitely like this as I have several Steam Controllers that are broken. They are supposedly going to make new Steam Controllers, but in case some of the aspects were changed like I heard, I would still like to have the old ones too.

I'm very excited at the idea of a modular laptop. There are already prototipes (can't remember the brand) but I think your average laptop buyer doesnt want to know how to choose parts and assemble them. Having a pre-built modular laptop would be ideal, along with the diy option

Glad it's Logitech getting behind this, but sometimes I just wish their hardware was better. I'm on my second G305 because the first one started having terrible LMB responsiveness. That being said, my experience with the mouse was still far better than Razer and the like. This initiative would only make Logitech lose my second $35 purchase, but in the long run, it is just further building my loyalty to the brand.

I don't trust myself to replace or repair anything electronic, that is my hubbi's expertise haha. With that said, he tries to repair first and only replace parts as a last option. Too bad there are no computer parts shops anymore. Not that I've seen, or it could be my location.

Right to repair is super important and I will always support it even if I lack the knowledge to exercise it my self in most cases.

I probably wouldn't bother with mouse and keyboard as after my experience with expensive razer gaming mouse and keyboard, I started using the cheapest mouse and keyboard I can find they are unbreakable and there is nothing that can go wrong with them plus you can actually read the keys. Tower wise I wasn't willing to wait so brought a pre-built, as I could get it straight away. The problem is it's impossible to upgrade or replace as the case is trash can't you can't even remove the front to get at the fan. Need to replace my tower soon and not sure what I'm route I'm going other than needs to be liquid cooled (just for the look) and is easy to access.

I have a junk drawer full of mice, controllers, and other stuff that stopped working over the years but I’d like to be able to fix. So yes this interests me. Especially when the replacements for, say, a PlayStation controller can cost as much as a full-priced game. Knowing me I’d probably be very intimidated while fixing the first item.

I am totally in favor of greater modularity and repairability....though if we extend this to phones and watches they will have to reinvent a way to keep them water-prof while keeping said features.

I recently took up my old hobby of writing, currently designing a world in a fantasy setting of my own, and all these modern fantasy writers are honestly giving me hope that I can compete. I've gotten the feeling that people are still more interested in timeless storytelling, with virtues and vices that are recognised across humanity, as opposed to all these contemporary settings being made left and right.

Oh my the hystrionics about a totally optional and (most likely) difficult to even *find* scene. Sometimes having years of art history, middle eastern archaeology and anthropology under my belt fucking hurts my head. Nice discussion. For myself, I'm glad I don't spend a whole lot on gaming, so my dog in this fight is very small. I will confess that I really dislike being told how horrible and evil I am for not buying this or that game/movie/book/comic/etc. If you want my money, you have to at least be polite (or have something I absolutely need, which, as pointed out, games are a luxury). And I loathe sweeping blanket characterizations, religious, racial, national, whatever, especially negative ones.

A minor drama gets overblown and started a witch hunt against the game is absulty worse than anything else. Sure some of Dev's responds certainly added fuel to the fire, but the amount of shit coming his way it too stupid to be reasonable. A lot of them barely knows anything about the game, and when the Dev tack a piss at a guy with a swastika in tn profile, they act like he's talking to everyone of his fans. Unless they want to become the "woke" that they swear to destroy, they need to back the fuck down until the game is released. They literally knows nothing about the story and the context around the "Woke" things in the game and yet they are already confident that it would be trash. A Witch Hunt is unacceptable, and when the game turn out to be good, those who screamed the loudest will pretend they didn't try to burn down the game.

If something would ruin your immersion in a game, then it does and you have to decide if that breaks the experience of playing the game. If it doesn't then its a highlight but nothing relevant to your experience with the game. People are individuals you can decide for yourself what to spend your luxury money on.

I can't understand how optional content is an issue, do they just want on the rails interactive movies, where they don't have to make choices? (I'm so disillusioned by this drama over KCD2 that I'm actually considering on getting AC:Shadows aswell - my side is just as bad as the wokies).
