I'm amused by people who say 'people who support opinions I don't like will go away now" I've seen it on both sides, and people on neither side have ever gone away. It's not a real prediction, it's a personal wish-dream.
These people think they are the majority. It's like there's a fine line between tolerating and being in favor of something.

The insulting thing is they assume the average gamer, you and me, are held in thrall by "influencers". No, these channels calling out the BS have an audience because they're echoing what we've already been saying. The influence thing works the other way around. The people who do commentary find an audience with whom their perspective resonates. They don't put the thoughts in our heads.
1:32 Games _are_ culture, and the people ruining them are doing so in part with politics. The people he's talking about are _already_ commenting on culture and politics because they've become/are inextricably linked to the medium/hobby/art form. We long for the day when games can be reviewed on their merits and faults with zero mentions or involvement from the Pronoun Police, "consultants" or Social Media Activists AND no noise from their opposition. That day is still a ways off.

What I see it as this: Journalists do not buy games, they like to think that they are the arbitrators of games for some reason, but the thing is that they are not the consumers. Gamers are the consumers. After all it is the game industry main consumer base, thus the name, It is not that hard, make a good product and people will buy it, do not make a good product. People will not buy it. What often make me scrach my head is that people make a idelogical pushing thing and call it a game, people don't buy it and it is the consumer fault that the game makers make a bad product, and the journalists normally put bad games on a pedestal for some reason. When a good game comes along that people buys, the journalists attack that game for some reason.
Bro's coping, all the industry failures we've seen over the last year in spite of the best efforts of the journalists demonstrate that the opposition to corporate activism has momentum, you can't expect a growing movement to just cease, it's more likely that mounting losses will cause his side to become demoralized soon.

Part of the problem is the AAA industry overshadows other more independent developers in the eyes of the average person. There's a lot of bread and circuses going on with "mainstream" gaming that seems to have no audience. Why wouldn't the majority of gaming youtube videos be negative? That's what most people just happen to see. Smaller devs are of course filling the void. There's a ton of indie devs that out perform these "AAA" studios. There's actually a ton of videos praising games too. Tons of multi-hour long reviews that are mostly positive. He's complaining that those reviews aren't praising things like Star Wars Outlaws. There's plenty of evidence that major studios are severely brain-drained.

There was a windows update that broke a lot of Ubisoft games and they haven’t yet fixed Assassin’s Creed. Gamers were accused of review bombing AC Origins because it’s unplayable now despite still being available for purchase and being on sale over the holidays. Does anyone think this could realistically impact sales of AC Shadows? Or will people forget about this?

Yep, the grifters will go away. Those of us who want a good modern game aren't going to stop complaining about the cost, quality, and story in a game. If you aren't going to give me what I want, or interest me in your product, I won't buy the game.

Idk why so many content creators are afraid of the term "anti-woke" its like, "im not snti-woke, i just have opinions on gaming/nerd culture. And most/all of those opinions run contrary to the woke ideology that ive seen contribute to the downfall of modern game development".

I don't like most labels in general. If someone else wants to call me "anti-woke", I don't really care, but in the end, my goals have very little do with woke or not.
I don't care WHAT ideology is behind making the things I love bad, and more importantly, when I have to start talking about whatever the opposite authoritarian bullshit thar eventually rears it's head in response to things swinging back the other direction is, I don't want to have pigeonholed myself into an ideology that isn't mine to begin with.

You know. Sometimes I think people focus to much on the word woke. While ignoring the issues with media. Someone uses the term woke and suddenly all their points get thrown out. Almost like they don't want to talk about the issues with media but rather just find a easy way to group everyone together and dismiss all of their points.
For a common issue has been, broken and buggy games to sometimes the point of being unplayable. Games crashing all the time, games having poor performance even on high end machines. due to how poorly put together the game is. Bad gameplay or the game simply doesn't work.
For story related stuff. It tends to be how things lack consistency in how they work. Making it seem like the whole world bends over backwards to favor the main character, rather than tell a good story. That or how a main/major character is one note. With them shouting out their single trait again and again. For I seen very lustful character, who tend to have more of a personality than alot of these new characters. Like oh yeah, they collect shells. They like to mess and tease people, they can from time to time be heroic, be wholesome. Have a personality beyond just being a lustful character. That or in the case of say succubi, it often them using charm and seduction to advance their own goals or that of their master. If the makers behind these piece of media/games, did a better job at ensuring quality standards. They would most likely be making money and not be getting so much negative feed back. Sure there is always going to be the one person who never happy. That why you focus on who you can please and in the case of a business, the people who will give you money.
You can use crypto games as a decent benchmark for this. When channels that clowned on crypto games started losing content, some were able to adapt, some were not. Some, like Jawn, still find a way to put fourth fantastic crypto game content even with the relative few that are around.
That said, I find his assumption that "Anti-woke" channels will be wanting for content after Asscrack Shadows is naive at best. Western game dev by all inside reports (and hiring practices that companies boast about) are entrenched with exactly the sort of folks that you'd expect given the games that are being produced. No shade to that, people should be how they want to be - but in the effort to "diversify" the extrinsic I believe they've homogenized the intrinsic - ironically succeeding in the exact opposite of the "varying perspectives" argument. People are going to make what they know. I'd say they could hire a consultation firm for help but - well you can see the corner that the industry is painting themselves into. Maybe I should start "Chud Baby Inc."
All that to say - the "Anti-woke" channels are going to be eating good for a long time.
